That's it? ... Actually, that's probably exactly right.

How 'bout if we switched places in the first round with any of the teams in the 6-10 range,(Seattle, Cleveland, Oakland, Buffalo, or Jax) and threw in Campbell -- might that be enough to sneak up to a 2nd or 3rd round pick?
Possibly, not sure really. Honestly I think 3rd is the best we could ask for

Yeah, who knows. We should probably thank our lucky stars for a 3rd for JC.

I want the cake, and I want to eat it too. Along with the icing, the peanuts, the cherries, whip cream, the Neopolitan Ice Cream, blah, blah, blah.
...But why, is McNabb looking for a place in Kennesaw? Alpharetta/Johns Creek seems to be more in his price range.

We actually have a handful of former and current NFL stars and various celebrities living there. Dieon Sanders use to live in my parents neighborhood with a football shaped pool in the back yard. I also think John Smoltz and Jeff Foxworthy liive in the area as does Jessie Tuggle and David Whitehurst. Heck my high school position coach played against the Redskins in the 87 Super Bowl.
Jeff Bostic lives here as well. I live in the Alpharetta area but there is no celebrity that ever lived here that equals Junior Samples. Look him up for those of you younger than me and don't know who the hell he is. :cool-smil

I'm sure this has been covered but when is the presser for Mcnabb and the negotiations for a contract extension have started correct?
Tripp what did you think about the Brunell trade? I think Gibbs gave Jacksonville a 3rd rounder. What was your opinion on that one? You seemed to be in Brunell's corner even though his skills were in decline. I think Brunell was around the same age as McNabb is when he was traded here.
I am not GTripp but I think I am allowed to comment ;-)

The Brunell trade ruined Gibbs 2.0. Then they literally threw away the 3rd round pick and extended Brunell with a huge deal. Then to top it off, they could have traded Ramsey and received decent compensation but held on to him for an extra year, ruined his trade value and wound up with a 6th round pick.

That move was a microchosm for everything wrong with the front office over the last 11 years. I hate the Portis for Champ deal, but this one was even worse. At least Portis was a big time performer at times.

It does bring up the biggest risk to the McNabb deal. If the Mastermind is wrong, his tenure here could end up like the Hall of Famer's. But here is the thing. The Mastermind hasn't been ignoring the game for 10+ years and he isn't coming here to be a delegator and experiment with personnel moves for the first time.
Ha ha, please. He can at least afford to indulge and go to Ecno Lodge. You know they serve a business breakfast. Which you'd think McNabb would like, but then you see him train shirtless and you're like "what the hell I thought he was fat?"

he wore a rib protector
Well, I mean if you were grading them on this one move, the conclusion would be that they in fact are idiots.

I know it's hard to believe that Shanahan would ever make a mistake, it's not like he's got a history of personnel mistakes, so I guess we will have to wait and see if his gamble pays off.

You call BS on my call of BS?! Well, I'm calling BS on that on the grounds of, huh?
GTripp, you are a smart person but I really don't care how many statistics classes you have taken or how much film you have watched. You are in no position to call Shanahan and Allen idiots based off of this move.

That's him. Not sure if he was a "mean SOB," but he is a local legend here in suburban Atlanta, GA. I actually live only a few miles from his family's car dealership (which is a bit of a stretch-more like half vacant lot) and there is a road named after the big fella. Just call BR-549 for directions.

Selig is such a douche haha
Asked by Tom Boswell about McNabb, here's what Selig told reporters, according to the Post's Mark Viera:

"I don't know; it's baseball. Goodness gracious, I'm a football fan -- this is Opening Day. If you really want to know I'm going to give you a brutally honest answer. I got up at 5:30 this morning and did my daily workout. And I was watching an unnamed channel and that's all they were talking about. I turned it off, that was my reaction. My goodness gracious."
Redskins Insider - Selig not thrilled with all the McNabb talk on Opening Day

Trust me, the residual McNabb coverage was way better than what went on at Nationals Stadium today.

It would of course be ridiculous to grade them on this one move. And impossible especially at this point, if one chose to indeed grade them on this one move, to say that they are in fact idiots.

I swear a friend of mine when I was a teenager looked just like him. I was watching the show with my brother-in-law one time and he was laughing so hard he almost fell off the coach. Good old Junior. :)
