I think what is really fueling this story is not the media's overreaction for once, but how his fellow NFL players reacted so strongly before the game was even over. That's what is so interesting.
It has been reported from years ago when Cutler was on the Broncos, that players on other teams and some on Cutler's own team felt that Cutler's past behavior was childish, poor and really lacking in class. Bad karma is a bitch. Cutler did not just fall off a turnip truck and is getting this poor treatment. He earned it by behaving like a child.
That being said it should not be happening to such a degree. The guy losing game the way he did and crying in the press conference and getting slammed in the press is enough. Let the guy lick his wounds.

If Cutler has shown evidence of being "childish, poor, and really lacking in class," then he has "earned" a reputation for that.

But no one ever "earns" being hammered without evidence. And everyone who took him apart without knowing how bad his injury was did just that.

The problem isn't the degree to which he has garnered hate lately. The problem is that he was essentially convicted without trial or evidence.

Jay should have been pulled before he hurt his ankle anyway, as him and Collins were throwing at their receivers feet most of the day. Hanie threw nice crisp strikes that were right in the numbers. Not so sure why Cutler was lowballing his receivers most of the time he was in there. I think Lovie needs to work out Hanie more and give him a shot. He responded well to the situation he was put in, even with the two INTs, he still fought. Collins needs to be released.

What's up with GB not putting their IR players on the SB photo? That's kind of bush if u ask me.
It's been enjoyable to say the least to see helping after helping of crow being served. Watching all the flak directed at Cutler on Sunday was horrifying. The worst being Phillip Rivers used as a reference, while conviently leaving out the fact that Rivers needed a procedure to help him play That's not to take away from what Rivers did but this absurd idea that Cutler could have gone back the same day. As doctors have pointed out Cutler would have missed around a month worth of games for this same injury and he most certainly wouldn't have been able to play the same day.
Rivers also didn't return in the same game he was pulled, thus destroying all the "hinting" the Rivers return IN THE SAME GAME while Cutler didn't.

That said, all the hate is in part due to the couch potato fan's inability to "get" what it feels like to be out their in the ****ing cold with 280+ lbs guys bearing down on you almost every play and having to overcome intense pain from a busted knee, which they likely never experience.

Hate to sound insensitive, but that's pretty much what you sign up for when you're playing quarterback in the NFL. Look at the guys who played with broken bones and other injuries decades ago for little or no money.

Lets not forget, Matthew Stafford is not 100% and may never be again...could be an opening there too.
