Re: Ron Rivera
Can anyone tell me what Rom actually does on game day? I never see him talking to player or talking on his head set. He just stands there with his arm crossed.

Hes the leader of men. Trusts and leans on his Coordinators. Ron does a lot. After 3 tumultuous years .. the players still buy in to him. |

For three weeks straight he has won on game day. I don't question that. For me, when it comes to head coaches and quarterbacks it's all about getting the W. |

He better beat Justin Fields, Sam Ellinger, and the ghost of Aaron Rodgers |

Should be 4 in a row!! Run Robinson on the goal line and we beat TN......Robinson may not be an explosive rb, but he would have gotten us that td! |

So, we're not a great team by any stretch, but the reality is that the Titans and Lions games were winnable. A few bounces going our way, and we could have been 6-2 instead of 4-4. Of course, we had squeakers against the Bears, Packers and Colts, so we could also be 1-7. It's concerning that none of our wins are against quality opponents (I don't think the Packers qualify as such at the moment). I still think it's going to be hard for this team to tack on a bunch more wins. The Vikings and Eagles are up next, followed by the Texans, the surprisingly decent Falcons, the Giants (twice), the 49ers, the Browns, and the Cowboys. We'll probably be favored against the Texans but that's about it, and it wouldn't be shocking (although it would be bitterly disappointing) if we won just 1 more game this season (or perhaps 2). 3-4 more wins would have to count as a pleasant surprise, and anything more than that would be shocking (to me, at least). Prove me wrong, Commanders -- beat the Vikings this week and I'll revise everything I've said. |
Re: Ron Rivera
Yeah, I'm not holding my breath, but they could beat the Vikings. Crazier things have happened. The defense is playing well. If they are able to run the ball, get a couple turnovers and TH doesn't throw a floater into quadruple coverage off his back foot more than a couple times - who knows?

Re: Ron Rivera
How is Chase Claypool worth more than Roquan Smith? Maybe I am old fashioned but if you are trying to build a team having an All Pro MLB to build a defence around would seem to be the best place to start.

Roquan Smith has publicly said that he wants to leave the Bears. |

Maybe Cousins will throw one of those endzone picks he was so fond of in Washington. Or more than one. I do think turnovers will be key here -- we'll need a decided advantage in that category to have any chance to keep pace with the Vikings. |
Re: Ron Rivera
Just read Ron's mother passed away.

Re: Ron Rivera
Do you think the new / potential owner(ship) will keep Ron Rivera?
I'm 50 - 50 on it because I think that part of the new ownership job will be erasing / changing everything that has / had to do with Dan, and Ron is for sure a Dan guy. I could see them letting him go at the end of the 2023 season.... |

He's probably almost guaranteed to be here through next year if this is really going down, and if the team is competing for the Division, and we have a QB of the future, there would be no reason to get rid of him. If the team is trending towards another mediocre 7-8 win season and still no QB...then he's out. |
