Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
The Athletic's proposal
No. 19 pick in the 2021 draft, 2022 first-round pick, 2023 first-round pick, 2021 third-round pick, DT Daron Payne. I'd prob do that |

I hope someone else trades for Watson asap. Then I don't have to think about how much of the enchilada I'd give away.

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I would not include Curl or Sweat.
Here’s some interesting info on Curl: https://washingtonfootballwire.usatoday.com/2021/02/01/kamren-curls-rookie-stats-shockingly-resemble-the-late-great-sean-taylors/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=NFLdraftmaverickMike&fbclid=IwAR3A2X7KdK7odLCZOubgrIklyIB9bbOTXpi7fcTYfETByXTqDSURbpZJl6o |

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I like Curl but is he worth more than Watson? Hell no. It’s way easier to find a DB than a QB. Also we have seen guys have rookie success and then flutter after. Not saying he will because I think he’s a good player but it’s happened before. I hope something happens with Watson quickly because it gets old talking about trade scenarios all the time.
The Fields rumor may be legit and that could be their backup plan if Watson falls through |

He is really good. He was Mahomes before Mahomes was Mahomes. He just never had a team or staff around him like Mahomes. He is a top three quarterback in the league right now and relatively young. |
Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Im torn between giving up all that for a proven elite quarterback or giving up less to move up for fields or wilson or lance.
|
Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Trey Lance is growing on me. Literally perfect for this offense.

I agree. Been saying that about him. He would be my preference if Fields didn’t work out. Lance may be a lower top 10, or even top 15 pick and could reduce what we’d have to give up to move up to draft him. |

I wouldn't give up the farm for Watson, remember RGIII? I'm not saying Watson is RGIII, to me he's not worth 4 1st's a 3rd and defensive starter. |
Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Fields can play right away. Lance will have to sit some, he hasn’t played in a year and he’s also only had 1 season under his belt.

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
For a while I’ve been thinking Matt Ryan and Derek Carr will become options for QBX. Sounds like it’s already happening with Carr.

JP Finlay
Great, they'll probably give up too much for a choker, he might have nice stats, come pressure games he disappears. |

JP Finlay
And this was followed up by a comment about paving the way for Las Vegas to make a blockbuster trade for Watson. I honestly just don’t see how they have the assets to pull that off though. |
Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
There is 0 chance Allen or Heineke start next season.
It’s clear as day they are trading for someone soon |

Why would Watson go to a team with no Defense and 1 WR that isn’t even close to Terry... makes no sense |

Who started that rumor? Big Foot? That is absurd. If he is worth that, then Watson is worth 5 1st rounders. |

The 49ers gave a 2nd for Jimmy G. who is much better than Carr, trust me Carr is a choker. |

Darnold, Carr,Wentz,Minshew, Winston ... which one of these would you pick ?

Darnold or Winston, maybe Winston can be taught not throw INT's. |

Not touching Wentz's contract with a 10 foot pole. The rest are pretty equivalent to me. I'd we could have any of them for the exact same amount, I'd go: Carr, Winston, Darnold, Minshew, Wentz Winston and Darnold are a toss up to me, tie goes to FSU. |

None. I would draft and develop a QB. |
None. I would draft and develop a QB.
Just curious, how long do you give the drafted qb to develop. And if he fails?
You do realize that even befoee the DAN took over the team this organization has never developed a qb effectively. I dont know why but holding out hope they can finally do that borders on insanity. Heath Schuler is asking for his football career back Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |
Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
A little over 3 years ago the Redskins traded for Alex Smith. They likely would have won the NFC East the last 3 years in a row if he didn't suffer that unfortunate leg injury. What if they did the same thing this year, with a guy like Derek Carr, who at this point in his career is better than Alex Smith? I'd be ok with that. With Daniel Jones, Carson Wentz, Jalen Hurts, or even Dak Prescott, I believe the WFT would have the best quarterback in the division.

I don't love Carr but he would easily be our best QB when accounting for both ability and availability. I'd offer a 3rd for him assuming the counter would be a 2nd, which I would also do. I'd take Carr because he is solid, and Mariota because he is good for our offense. I'd offer a 4th for Mariota assuming the counter would be a 3rd, which I would also do. |

Could definitely be true. That's too rich for my blood. A 2nd is my personal max for him. |
Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I just couldn’t imagine trading for Derek Carr...he had a decent year, but shit isn’t it a huge red flag that the raiders want to move on? Like is anyone seeing that here? Detroit is in rebuild, I get that...raiders trying to win...

Yeah I just don't see Carr leading us to playoff wins.. He's always been an average QB. He's in that Cousins category. I wouldn't mind having him but not for a 1st |
Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Yeah I'm in the same boat, I wouldn't oppose to trading for Carr as long as we are not giving up our 1st round pick.
