Re: I am sick of Kornheiser sweating his FF team on MNF
TK just said he thinks the bears can go 19-0
They have the best chance of anyone. The Ravens finally lost. The Colts will lose. Hopefully to us. :) |
Re: I am sick of Kornheiser sweating his FF team on MNF
The TK FF team IS a gimmick, either that or he has absolutely no clue!
He dropped McNabb fr Plummer? Pul-eeeeze His kicker was injured Vinatieri!!! He must chop and change the team JUST to have players playing on MNF so he can talk about it each and every week! |
Re: I am sick of Kornheiser sweating his FF team on MNF
i think this is the best mnf crew in a long time. TK is great, the guy is so silly, he's always got me laughing about something.
as for fantasy football, i love it. i've been playing for the past 5 years, i've been the commissioner for the last 3. it's very fun, plus keeps you up to date with the stats of just about every offensive player in the NFL. my wife has always KINDA liked football and would watch it with me from time to time, well i talked her into joining my league last year and now she absolutely loves football. she gets just as excited about watching the games as i do, it's freakin awsome. as for it taking up too much time, i totally disagree. set your lineup once a week, check for free agents and stuff like that once or twice a week and thats it, i spend more time on the WARPATH.NET then on FF. |
Re: I am sick of Kornheiser sweating his FF team on MNF
yeah, i like that it keeps me up to date on player stats and who might be worthwhile in FA (less last minute research).

Re: I am sick of Kornheiser sweating his FF team on MNF
"he better catch the ball next time, he's on my fantasy football team"
i love the guy on pti, but he sucks at calling a game. he didn't even know what a silent count was! |

And he's a hell of a lot better than Dennis Miller!!!!!!!!! Remember that Fiasco? What the hell was that about? |

if your a football announcer, you should know everything about football...its your job |

i agree, but dont you think he should know more than he seems to know? if you don't know what a silent count is than theres something wrong |
Re: I am sick of Kornheiser sweating his FF team on MNF
i would be willing to bet my house that the bears do not go undefeated. Rex Grossman is playing out of his mind right now. no way he keeps it going for the whole season
Grossman really isn't playing much better than he was the past 3 season or so (when healthy). That's probably the NFL's biggest myth today. He's still making mistakes and throwing inaccurate passes from time to time. The difference is now that the Bears have a consistant passing game, he's getting more media attention. He's not playing any better really. Folks in the Chicagoland area have been excited about him since he won his first two starts in 2003.
As far as the Bears going undefeated, it COULD happen. They have already won 2 out of 3 road divisional games. They have a three game road trip in the northeast, and thats going to probably end that streak there. I say 14-2. But then again I also (still) think the Skins will finish 12-4 and get the no. 2 seed. Time will tell. |
Re: I am sick of Kornheiser sweating his FF team on MNF
I think part of the appeal of TK, for me at least, is that he really doesn't know much more about sports than your average Friday night bar patron, and he will be the first to admit that. I feel he has been a great foil to Wilbon's more encylopedic knowledge of sports and sports history.
Plus I thought he always was a great writer and radio host - I have always liked the guy a lot. So that is why it is so suprising to me that I find myself unable to stand him in the Monday night booth. His brand of commentary just doesnt work for this format. I would bet money that he does not make it to season 3. |

He knows his stuff, but says a lot of stupid shit for attention. Kornheiser just has this intangible quality that makes me want to yack. I hope Theismann crushes him the next time he says something condescending. I could write pages about how much I hate ESPN(but still consistently watch) and all of their personnel choices, formats, and coverage. To me their only saving grace is the occasional hilarious commercial. |

He's sporting a 100.8 QB rating. Prior to this year he was a career 67.4 QB. |

thats just it, he's not the announcer, he's just a little side show. |

don't be fooled, he knows the rules and such. he's been covering sports for many years, football included, i'm sure he's heard the term "silent count" before. he knows more than he lets on. |
