Re: Should the Redskins make a run at Brady Quinn?
Theres an article written in the Pro Football Prospectus 2006 that has a good track record of projecting QBs based on their college stats, based on using Games Started and Completion %, and high numbers of both seem to correlate to success in the NFL. Campbell's projection is off the charts. Your boy, Alex Smith, fares pretty well by it too.

Quinns a 4 year starter for a major program in which his career completion % will hover around 60% at the end of the season. That's good for the system.

It has been wrong before. But in general, if you suck (a term used loosely, cause of the hype factor) in college, like Kyle Boller, who vastly outplayed his projection, you won't be much in the NFL.
Oh okay. I think I may have read part of that a while ago.

I dont think we're trying to lose out, but the possibility is there.

Who would you guys want if you got the first pick? The big three really don't fit any of your needs.

Hopefully we'd trade down for more picks.
Why not?
Sure, I feel like waiting three years to cut the next Rick Mirer.

This team needs a veteran QB.
oh so now were bowing out......no 10 game run, from anyone, and we comeback and make the playoffs and win the superbowl,...... Matty where are you?...no MB peep talk, now were talking QB's.......wow, who would ever think
I've been all over the board about the QB talk... do I need to respond to every QB thread? :)

Hey newbie, welcome to the board, but I suggest you take a look around before starting so many new threads. A lot of this has already been discussed and the Warpath Gods don't appreciate talking about the same things over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again.

the only way the skins make a run at Quinn is if Jason Campbell gets some significant playing time this year. and proves he doesn't belong in this league. thats what i think is going to happen to tony romo

421kidwell are you unaware that we have our future quarterback on the roster right now, and he's been riding the bench the last 1 and a half seasons waiting for his turn to show us what he has? Don't you think we should see what he's got before we start looking at other quarterbacks?

Re: Should the Redskins make a run at Brady Quinn?

Listen i think Quinn going to be a very good qb. I think he played alot better than Campbell in college. But we already invested so much in Campbell we have to know if this guy can play. That why Campbell should be playing now so we know who to draft next year. We should have never drafted Campbell in the first place we had alot more important needs to fill instead of trading all of those picks for a QB that was rated to go to the third round or late second. But typical of the skins{GIBBS<LITTLE DANNY>} Trading away extra picks {ROCKY,LLOYD,PORTIS,CAMPBELL,}.

Not sure if anyone heard Pastabelly on ESPN radio today, but fatboy said he heard from his 'trusted' sources within the organization that JC will get the nod sooner rather than later. Which should make this a mute point.

Besides, our obvious need is at DB and DE, not QB.

our need are everywhere unfortually that means more FA spending like it going out of style since we have no Finnng pick next year again.

i think we swap 1st round picks with them if we end up with a worse record than they do and its between picks 20-30 . atleast thats what i was told here a few days ago.. though i have no link of that trade. if anyone does please post the link breaking down that deal.
