Clayton is usually pretty on point. If I get a chance this afternoon, I'll try to find out if he meant something else.

I have such a good feeling about our young Quarterback and I'm sure it's just complete homerism, but I tell you I think JC is going to absolutely break out this year! This whole manage the game stuff is great and all, but this kid has the potential to be an All Pro. His pocket presence is a major strength and as much as I like Clayton I usually get the feeling that he doesn't get a chance to see the Redskins all that often. Seems like he just looked at the stats and made an educated guess about what a young quarterback would generally need to work on kind of thing.

Just imagine - if JC actually had a legitmate #2 reciever how much better he would look.

He has had an excellent offseason, but outsiders have to see how he is developing as a starter. Campbell didn't have a great pocket presence in his first year, but he was in a tough spot. Now, this is his team and his time to prove his ability.
What else do you expect the players to say?:smashfrea

Compared to what else we have, I'll live with JC's "lack of pocket presence". Brunell practically tap dances back there and Collins just sucks.

His pocket presence was fine. His huddle presence needs to be Theismannized by about 15%. Laid back is for surfers and potheads. He needs to get a little more vocal with certain receivers who looked lost and will remain nameless because you guys know who I mean anyway.
Yeah, I thought that was a little weirdly stated too. Clayton is good typically so I gave him a pass on that.
Yeah he is pretty good with stuff like that. Maybe he looked at Campbell's completion percentage and assumed it correlated with pocket presence even though that makes no sense at all.

pocket presence... hmmmmm... let's think about that. He's 6 4' and has to bend deep at the knee to even get a good snap and he runs a good mile back before he throws (long legs).... he's back there a while. Scrambles well, keeps his head up..looks long. Young, learning, being conservative.. waiting for the right play, feeling it out and finding his home in the pocket. All seems pretty normal to me for a young QB with a rocket for an arm. Blast them all (sports writers). JC is going to be GREAt as soon as he learns the system. Count on it.

They are the kings of suck. Collins may know the offense but that doesnt do you any good when you like to throw the ball to defensive lineman.

Todd Collins: nominated for douche-bag of the decade
I wonder how many of these guys browse Warpath then go and put their articles together?
None. Thats called research. Research is for nerds and lesser wimps. Not for badass sportswriters.

Or so the legend goes.

It's not like me and Clayton are drinking buddies or anything like that. In fact, usually when I talk to him it's through another person who works on NFL programming.

That said, I never got a chance today to reach out to him
