Yeah, because he didn't get home on one blitz, we should overlook the fact that guys whose job it is to hang onto the ball didn't. Or that guys whose job it is to never touch the ball decided to, but...no, you're right Chris Horton cost the Skins the game.
I think you're missing my point. People are way too quick to give Horton a pass I think. He wasn't the main reason for the loss, but he factors in there somewhere. If it was Moore responsible for that play then I take back my criticism on Horton. |
Re: On the bright side...
Whether it was Moore or Horton does'nt really matter. Young guys are going to make some mistakes. Still, they must be held accountable just like the veterans, whether it's Cooley- fumble, Kendall- fumble, Landry- dropped int. Fletcher- dropped int. the list goes on. After 0 turnovers the first 5 games, this game looked horrible but I don't believe it's the norm for us. We had a bad game in many ways and I hope the players move on to next week. The same personnel that lost this game, is the same personnel that took us to 4-1. I would hope the players are'nt doing all this finger pointing. There is enough blame to go around. Since the Skins have become a real TEAM, I'm sure they're not pointing fingers and anyone who is should be traded. We're sitting pretty good right now and hopefully we'll move past this, get back on track and kick Clevelands ass this Sunday. I can't speak for Matty but I took him to mean that some guys are getting a pass for their mistakes while other guys get hammered for theirs. We win as a team and we lose as a team. If that ever stops, we're in for some deep s**t.

Quite honestly, to be in the position with the Rams where one play determines W/L is..........bad. Therefore, it's a team deal unless one guy did all the fumbling. One guy had the blown coverages, etc. That having been said, playing a Rook has it's drawbacks! Even a talented one |

-Carlos Rogers... he's officially off the potential bust list. He really did a nice job locking up against Holt. He's now the real deal.
Looking at the three CB's available at the top of that draft, I would say that we came away with the best player. Pac Man will never grow up, and Antrel Rolle has already moved to safety. Rogers looks like a legit #1 corner and he's young enough that he will only get better. |

Good point. As is typical, MANY an "expert" sent a lot of grief our way for that pick over the other guys |

I don't think people are giving him a pass for anything. I heard on the radio that it was Moore who was supposed to blitz but didn't, and by all accounts and play design would have had a free shot on bulger, or at least rushed his throw and made him check down. Horton has earned a few accolades. His play has been nothing short of outstanding in run support, and it looks like that's the role the D wants him to play. I know the coaches don't want him to quit progressing, but for a seventh round pick to even make our roster is something new... much less to start as a rookie and be among the league leaders in turnovers, and be third on the team in tackles, even though he didn't start or play much in the first couple of games. |
Re: On the bright side...
Kareem Moore was the rookie who was supposed to blitz and didn't. But Torrence should have defended the pass better.
Also, I agree that Rogers has been an excellent cornerback this year, much better than I expected. But...the offensive line did not dominate except in the running game. When Campbell dropped back to pass, most of the time he was under a lot of pressure. |
Re: On the bright side...
On the bright side....Romo is out for 4 weeks!

Re: On the bright side...
take away the 3 fumbles and count the at least 4 pics that were dropped and it's a huge blowout.skins just did'nt play fundamentally sound yesterday.

Re: On the bright side...
Yeah, the good...
#22 is finally coming into his own. A real shutdown DB. No INTs after 6 games Horton is proving to be a steal JZ can call a game after all The bad... We fell asleep on the Rams. It was clear that we came in with to much confidence and got punched in the throat. That's not what Championship teams do. Thats what 10-6 Wildcard teams do. We need to beat the teams we are expected to beat. We are getting into the habit of dropping way to many passes. WTF? Come on Santana. Our Special Teams (Punt kick and return) sucks. Nuf said. |
and don't forget that the defense is dropping almost every int that comes right to them and hits them in the numbers. |
Re: On the bright side...
Since we are bashing our team, I gotta bring up JC's Fumble...not his fault on the bad snap, BUT you have to fall on the ball in that case!

I thought this was on the bright side. I just heard on tv the Cowgirls are S...t...r...u...g...g...l...i...n...g. That's like music to my ears. The Cowgirls are S...t...r...u...g...g...l...i...n...g.

Re: On the bright side...
I have to add Marcus Washington to the "Bright Side" list. After a few weeks of sub-par performances and people doubting if Marcus could still be effective as a starter Marcus came out and had a very good game proving to me that when he's healthy he is still a quality starter.
