Re: Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin!!!!
The Washington Redskins have made the biggest splash on the first day of NFL free agency, signing former Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth to a seven-year, $100 million contract.
Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the deal includes $41 million guaranteed in the first three years, and the maximum value of the deal could be $115 million. According to Schefter, the deal is the richest contract ever given to a player and includes more guaranteed money than any contract in NFL history has ever included. those numbers sound closer to being right. |
It's true it's on redskins.com on the front page ticker. $ 100M, as I said before, I don't like it, HUGE risk when we have many other holes to fill.
It's going to be interesting to see the final terms of both AH & Hall's deals.
So the D looks like this Carter-Haynesworth-Griffen-Taylor on the line. LB's McIntosh-Fletcher-Blades?. Hall-Landry-Horton-Rogers with Smoot as the nickel. You have to love this D! Fletcher will be able to run free sideline to sideline. It also free's up doubles on Taylor or Carter for the most part. But the biggest part is big Al stoping the run and screens up the middle! |

ESPN.com, reports the same.

Re: Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin!!!!
Vinny was on Mike and Mike ESPN raido to talk about the Big Al Deal! The Dael atrted at 1201 am and was final at 530 am. Haynesworth didn't wanted to get in a bidding war. Still there was six other teams looking at Al and on the phone but in the end he wented with the Skins. Sal Pal and Golic love the move! What I love about big Al is he will keep the other East teams from running up the middle. Haynesworth in the middle of that Titan D averaged less the 100 yards running pergame the last two years! If he can help do that and get a push up the middle that would he worth the cash.
No more Bradon Jacobs running up the middle like last years season opener! Can't wait to see the Skins play the Raiders this fall! |
Re: Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin!!!!
I dont want to encourage stomping on opposing players heads however if his heels slips in a couple of Dallas games I might be looking for my drink at that moment!!!

Re: Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin!!!!
I like the signing.
It's my guess that the additional $4mil added to the cap went a long way to assist making this deal possible. Snyder has the money, let him spend it. I just want AH to stay healthy and produce. What I don't epect from him: 16 sacks ad a performance like that guy in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High". What I do want, eating up double and triple teams and the men around him making plays and swarming. Be happy. |

It real is run first in the East then pass. Yes the Eagle love to pass but they too would run first if they could. The other thing that Al and Hall should do is shorten the field with turnovers. Give the O more chances! Maybe get some D scores as well! |

Like the guy on NFL Network said last night, Tennessee DB's had 16 picks last year. With AH up front, 'Los might even be able to hold onto a couple. |
Re: Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin!!!!
If we keep Jason Taylor, him and Andre Carter are gonna have a helluva season with teams double teaming big Al.
TODAY IS A GREAT DAY! |

I don't think Taylor will be here. With the AH and Hall signings JT will probably be released along with Springs. I also think we will make some sort of upgrade at LB. Once we get throught he weekend and the dust settles then we'll have a clearer picture. |
Re: Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin!!!!
Our greatest DT has been Dave Butz[75-88] can AH be that good? I remember Butz playing in the day and he tock on two blockers ever play and still was a beast. Love to see AH be that kind of player inside!
|
Re: Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin!!!!
I think it's safe to say right now AH is more dominant than Butz ever was.

Re: Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin!!!!
man, this move scares the hell out of me. he had better be the real deal
|
Re: Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin!!!!
I'd like to hear some capologists chime in on this deal. Sounds like a front heavy contract and basically a 3 year deal.
