Mature, my foot! Maturity is knowing that you need to provide for your own future. Maturity is knowing that you need to look out for your own interests.

It's business, alright. That's why JC needed representation in that meeting. If for no other reason, so that his agent could get a feel for what the Skins management's plans for JC are now that they failed to get Cutler.

I'm not looking at this purely as a fan. I'm also a human being who doesn't like the idea that another human being might be played for a fool just because he is decent.

Snyder created this situation. I were JC's agent I'd make Snyder pay to get out of it because that would be in my client's best interests.

If he flounders this season let him go. If he doesn't turn the corner this season he never will and will only end up being an expensive backup. Still can't see why folks think this guy is a franchise QB with what he has shown us thus far. That being said he can quiet all of us critics by playing very well this season and in 2010.

Exactly. Not to mention JC is under contract this year and is an RFA after this season. Not sure what leverage KI is talking about. I do think it's safe to say Joel Segal knows a hair more about the business than KI or any of us. If he needed to be there he would have been. Just because Jason was unsuccessfully shopped in a trade doesn't give him any more leverage than if he wasn't.

Plus I doubt their meeting had anything to do with a contract. It sounds like it was more "this is what happened, this is how we feel about you, this is how we want to move forward at this point, what are you thoughts?" And they went from there.

Campbell has drawn national praise for his handling of this situation, and frankly I'm proud that he's our quarterback.

But, how do we know his agent wasn't there? KI, it just seems like you make assumptions, based on your disgust with the FO. No one knows how it went down in the room. JC said he got alot off his chest. That may very well mean he did and said what you want him too. But how does acting like a whiny Cutler improve his hand in any way. I just don't get the logic.

I agree Campbell has handled himself well, but in fairness he does not have the same options that Cutler had. Campbell's only realistic chance to start next season is right here...if he were to pull a cutler type power play he would likely end up on someone else's bench. And that's not a good place to be in a contract year. Campbell didn't just make the classy move...he made his only move.

Luckily Campbell is a lot more mature than Cutler. He knows if he plays well this year, he's going to get paid. Thats how it works. He didn't play well enough last year to warrant an early extension and I'm sure he knows that.

And frankly I am too. I try not to say too much unless I feel strongly about it or I feel I'm right. I don't know if Campbell will ever be a great QB, but I know this, he doesn't deserve to be treated the way he's been treated by the fans. Campbell is not a bad QB yet he's treated like one by a lot of people. He deserves the chance to be in a system for more than one year to show what he can do. And I'm not talking about Saunders 700 page playbook that ended up being part what Saunders wanted and part what Gibbs wanted. I'm talking about a real system. I think he'll do well next year. If he doesn't, we don't resign him but he at least deserves the chance. If I was Campbell I probably would of been raising hell long time ago. "Will ya'll make up your mind what offense you want to run for crying out loud!" This is a case where I really hope the good guy wins. Some seem sure he's gonna fail, some seem sure he won't. I'd just like for him to have a clear cut chance to succeed. That's all any of us can ask for.

I don't think he'd be on the bench for long. IMO JC could walk in right now and start for SF, Jets, Buffalo, TB, Miami, Clev, Houston, Det and Minn.

Whoa whoa. Houston? Schuab is one of the better QB's in the league right now. Check up on his numbers for yourself. Pennington had the second highest QB rating last year and the only reason they're having a competition is because Pennington is getting up there in years . Cleveland? Maybe but not a walk in and start type deal. The others I agree, but I think you're overselling Campbell at this point.

Right now his greatest value by far is Year 2 in Zorns system.
