Re: Gotta love Riggo: Tells Vinny to go do radio fulltime
The biggest failure of both has been the absolute failure to address the offensive line. Everyone, fans, analsyts, you name it, knew the Redskins oline was aging and that the depth behind the aging vets was dismal. Now we are paying the price.

Love Riggo! Had the opportunity to meet him before the Superbowl against the Dolphins. He is still my all time favorite athlete.

I like how he really wasn't blaming Jim Zorn as he was basically castrated. Truer words have never been spoken.

Yep, and everyone knew this LAST YEAR, early on. And so Snyder blows $41 mill, guaranteed, on a overweight wheezing hypochondriac. We coulda bought some Hogs with that change. |

But if I'm the Redskins (and I'm not) I would counter with well we drafted Rinehart in the 3rd round in 2008 with the expectation he would develop into our RG starting in 2009 given the opportunity, we went younger at LG with a proven starter in Derrick Dockery, we signed two other veteran starters in Mike Williams and Jeremy Bridges (who can play both G/T), we've made a commitment to youth on our interior with Edwin Williams and Will Montgomery. So it's not like we ignored the offensive line. We have targeted offensive linemen as often (if not more often) these past 10 years than our predecessors did the 10 years before. All to which I would counter back with why did you bench Rinehart after two games then, why didn't you keep Jeremy Bridges, and why is your back-up LT (to a guy you knew you had to "monitor" because of his knee) a guy who's bounced around the league for years. Your problem isn't addressing the line, it's how you address it. And then they would say Smoot what happened to us? We used to be so close? Was it something we did? Something we said? And I would say Just don't talk to me right now. I can't look at you And then they would say if that's how you feel, maybe we should just call this whole thing off And then I would say no, wait sorry come back. It's not you, it's just, it's just it's so frustrating right now what's happening And then they would say we understand, how about if we do something like name Bruce Allen President, Jimmy Raye III General Manager, Pete Carmichael or hey maybe even Brian Schottenheimer head coach, draft a couple of OTs and a RB, maybe trade for a QB...would that make you feel better? And then I'd give a little smile and say I guess so...and we'd hug it out |

Damn you Snyderatto, you've claimed another victim! I have wondered the past few days if Cerrato has any conscience and will fall on his own sword and move to a non-personnel position. I really doubt it but between him and Danny I'd hope one or the other would realize a bigger change needs to be made. |

And then I'd give a little smile and say I guess so...and we'd hug it out[/quote] the problem is the depth behind the starters is pure garbage. when a starter goes down the drop off is too big to over come. let's face it. we all knew samuels and thomas... given their history were not going to be able to play a full season. so you bring in a guy who hasn't played in two years that is 400 lbs?? wtf???? plus if rinehart could play he'd be in there. he can't pass block. bridges, e.williams and montgomery? below average journey men at best. and heyer can't play at this level...gaines admas showed us that. maybe we could've picked up a linemen w/ that 2nd rounder that went to miami for j.taylor. |
