Re: Jerry Jones Gives Phillips Vote of Confidence
Going to the wire and beyond with the Chiefs is subpar. Tony Romo is looking like the pedestrain QB he is without TO. Roy Williams is being shown up by 3rd stringers. Without the dumb luck of two long pass plays in that game would have lost all 4 quarters of that game instead of the 3 that they did.
By the way, 5-0 is way above par. Sub-par is below what is average. In the NFC East they are in 3rd place out of 4. Whether you agree or not the cowboys are not meeting their expectations. Look at the bright side though...at least you won't go into overtime with a winless team this week.
Ok, thats irony for you, talkng smack about going to OT with a winless team, albiet winning in OT, when the Redskins have LOST to 2 winless teams, could not score a TD against the third winless team and barely squeeked out a win in a FedEx filed that resounded with boos. Not to mention they host a third winless team this Sunday. Yet even after all that, Dallas still has the #1 offense in total yards and 8th in yards per game. Do we even want to discuss where the Redskins ranked? (HINT: It is in the low to mid 20's). The only 2 losses Dallas has are against 2 of only 5 undefeated teams in the NFL. And in those 2 games Dallas either had the lead in the last minutes of the game or were in position to take the lead. Taking 2 of the best teams in the league (this season) to the wire is okay. Even without Owens (and what has Owens done thus far) Romo is still the #5 QB in the league in total yards, #8 in yards per game.
Whether you agree or not the cowboys are not meeting their expectations.
What expecatations? I know the preseason polls I read, and most posters on this board were in concurrence speculating the Cowboys finishing no better than 9-7 this season, probably 8-8 and missing the playoffs. All of these "Power Rankings" that sports sites do, none have ever had the Cowboys ranked higher than 14th in the NFL. So what expectations are you referring to? I know it cant be the players expectations. Because the next question would be what were the Redskins players expectations for the season? So I really do not get the 'subpar' comment. I think they are right about where we expected them to be. |

Can't go wrong there, who gives a crap bout Cowgirl coaches in their last year. |

For the 'subpar' comment, it's like the cowboys defense, there's really not much to it. You seemed to highlight all of the one-sided aspects of the team and left out some particulars. The cowboys defense is 21st in the league letting 357.8 total yds roll a game and has the 28th ranked pass defense giving 251.4 pass yards a game. The cowboys aren't doing as well as you might seem to think. In fact, why would any owner need address the fact that they aren't firing their coach if they are where they should be so far this season. By the way, I know shots at the Skins are easy and all, but not during ANY POINT did I back up the on field performance of the Skins. It's easy to start ranking on them I know, but you're not proving anything to me that I don't already know about them...It's not like I'm disillusioned about my team like you are. |

This is what he does. He came on the board last year running his mouth and then after we whipped their ass in dallas he disappeared. Typical Cowgirl fan. They come and talk shit when you're down, and disappear when they're beaten. |

Your right about that Ive noticed that some years back when Brunell and Moss connected in Dallas on Monday night. They have plenty to say until its proven that they suck. |

Maybe if they had lost, you would not even be showing up here... Wait, I just bothered reading a bit of this post...your Cowpukes team will always have big expectations from the media, thanks to the hundreds of bandwa...I mean "fans" that the team has. In case you didn't notice, just about everyone had the Redskins not doing well (and rightfully so), but there's always a media talking head or two that has the Cowgirls in the playoffs. |

Re: Jerry Jones Give Phillips Vote of Confidence
Seems to me too big a deal is being made out of this. Where are the votes of confidence for Tom Cable, Dick Jauron, Jack Del Rio...

Re: Jerry Jones Give Phillips Vote of Confidence
I don't care either. The way our team has performed, and our FO acts, there's nothing that can make me feel better about my skins, or the coach. The only thing that would make me feel better would be a 40-something to nothing win this week. Come to think of it, that won't get me all the way there either.

So just what are the Redskins expectations compared to those alleged expectations of the Cowboys? |

Every sports talking head has your team in the playoffs, whereas with the Redskins everyone (rightfully so) had them at the bottom of the NFC East, if not the entire NFC. |
Re: Jerry Jones Give Phillips Vote of Confidence
Oh who gives a fuck. We both suck and aren't even close to where we should be. At this point both franchises should be embarrassed! The God awful truth is we're more alike than anyone wants to admit. We both have owners who don't know shit about football but want to play GM. They resemble P.T. Barnum more than Art Rooney, and until they're ready to turn the reins over to someone who knows football, we can expect more of the same.

Douchie...I know you like kicking the Skins' while they're down but let me reiterate. Not at any point do I back up the on field performances of the Redskins. I would have to have half a brain to think that the Redskins are capable of anything competitively. The one who has half a brain apparently is the one who is trying to prove something to no one. Kick the Skins all you want...your subpar squad has problems too. They'll just show themselves at a later date. |
