Re: Texas vs. Oklahoma: Scouting our next QB?
just say no to both. back up is about the best any one could hope for out of these 2

Re: Texas vs. Oklahoma: Scouting our next QB?
LT needs to be our first pick, not QB unless Clausen is there.

Re: Texas vs. Oklahoma: Scouting our next QB?
I don't want either of these guys. Especially McCoy. The first pick had better be a big nasty 300 + lb o linemen who is ready to start right away.

I don't care if he is there. We need to re build the o line, not pick a rookie QB. Although JC may never be a top NFL QB, if he has a line in front of him he is serviceable. Carolina made it to the SB w/ Jake Delhomme. |
Re: Texas vs. Oklahoma: Scouting our next QB?
Either Bradford or McCoy would be great - strong arms, fairly mobile, both are pretty good at going through their reads. My personal opinion is that McCoy is a little better.

I just read that after putting up my post... that is a great point, yeah, changed my mind. First 2-3 picks need to be o-linemen, get rid of joe bugel, get a better o-line coach and build up the front trenches for the next 5 years. |

I was listening to the game (It was on the house, I'm not into college sports) and I kept hearing something about Bradford re-injuring his shoulder. Shouldn't that be red flags to NOT draft this kid? A few years taking shots in at the pro level and that dude's career is done. |
Re: Texas vs. Oklahoma: Scouting our next QB?
Did anybody else notice that the OK medical staff/trainers never put an icepack on his shoulder ??

Re: Texas vs. Oklahoma: Scouting our next QB?
Check out Zac Robinson tonight. Someone to keep an eye on, especially if Gruden is our next coach...just saying

Re: Texas vs. Oklahoma: Scouting our next QB?
Ok to be honest, I think that all the QB's in this years draft aren't THE ANSWER, and the only one that I think is the ANSWER, keeps hurting his shoulder so much that he may not even declare for the draft this year (Sam Bradford). Clausen will be the next Ryan Leaf, IMO. McCoy looks like a system QB. Same thing for Tebow. Zack Robinson looked decent the one game I saw him play, but that was last year, and from what I've heard he isn't projected to be a good NFL QB. Jevan Sneads got an arm, but isn't accurate and isn't good at all with his awful OL, so why would he be good here? Tony Pike makes some pretty bad mistakes, and when I watched him against USF, he threw at least 2 passes that should have been picks. He's a very poor mans Flacco, but not worth a first rounder at all, IMO. Dan LeFlevour is a great running QB, but definitley isn't a first rounder, he's shaky at passing.
So with all that said, our first round pick must be a LT. That leaves Russell Okung of Oklahoma State, Trent Williams of Oklahoma, Anthony Davis of Rutgers, and Bryan Bulga of Iowa. And from best to worst I would pick them in that order. No QB could survive back in that pocket of ours that our OL creates, so therefore build that before you get the skilled position players. |

Kudos. |

No way I want either player unless Bradford drops to the second round. This QB class stinks. |
Re: Texas vs. Oklahoma: Scouting our next QB?
These QBs are system guys on NCAA powerhouse squads. They are mostly built on hype, as they are surrounded with loads of talent. SHoot it would be hard for Teebow not to look great when your team is averaging over 300 yards rushing a game. That is one helluva line in Gainsesville, same with Bradford in Norman. Do you really want to draft a guy with a bum shoulder anyway? As for Clausen and Notre Dame? I wouldn't touch a ND QB for the life of me. They play a couple decent teams a year and that is it. Not saying ND stinks, but they would be a 4-6 loss team if they were in the SEC, PAC 10, or Big 12. The guys you draft are like the Bradys, McNabbs, Flaccos, and Ryans. The guys that are very good in college, but don't garner the ridiculous amount of coverage in the media.
