Talk about no class. Everything about how this is being handled is wrong. Okay, so you decide that McNabb is the way to go. Fine. Plenty of argument fo rhim to be the better man. But hey, Jason didn't exaclty throw games and curse out players. He didn't cause any huge scandals or name names. Between Bruce and Mike, SOMEBODY should've had the the testicular fortitude to have a honest, man to man talk with Jason Campbell and tell him about McNabb. At least call him up and say, "Yo! We got your boy Donovan!"
No class at all in this organization. After the way he was treated, I wouldn't wanna be seen there either.
I always find it funny that people get so irked about things like this. I thought Mike Golic made a good point this morning about this, he basically said that Shanahan never named JC the starter to begin with, so should he also be calling Colt Brennan? He didn't draft JC, he wasn't his starter, so what does he really owe him? |

I assume they couldn't talk to him before the McNabb deal was done because they'd risk starting a media circus. Of course, I don't know, maybe he was told about a potential trade days before it went down. |
Re: Campbell will now stay away from Redskins Park
I don't know what calls were made when, but I have a feeling that MS and BA both tried to call him, but if you are JC, and your phone starts going crazy Easter Sunday and it is your coach and GM, he had to know what was happening, maybe not McNabb, but they weren't calling just to say Happy Easter.

Re: Campbell will now stay away from Redskins Park
Business is Business, the new regime is in no way indebted to JC nor do they owe him an explaination. It's not like the guy is a DC icon or won many games for the Skins, what has he done? Handle his mediocrity with class? He should watch his game film himself...the answers are all right there. He's appears to be a nice guy and I wish him luck with his future endeavors. owever, for the JC gets no respect crowd, a saying my dad used to give me: "Respect is not a given. It is an earned."
In business or any perfomanced based endeavor, respect is earned through results. |
Re: Campbell will now stay away from Redskins Park
^exactly, dont talk bad about him people's feeling might get hurt.
When McNabb back there winning, nobody will remember JC |
Re: Campbell will now stay away from Redskins Park
I also think with the way things went down things happened so quickly that calling JC really wasn't a high priority. And as SS already said, there seems to be mixed reports on whether he was contacted or not, so who knows, and frankly who cares.
I do think that things were handled badly last year with the Culter and Sanchez talk, but again, this is the NFL. It's a tough biz. Life ain't fair either. |

Of all people, Campbell understands what's going on and is working with the team to get him traded to a team where he can compete. I really don't think anyone shafting anybody in this situation. |

I will take a shot at this... Absolutely nothing. No meaningful regular season games and no playoff games. |
Re: Campbell will now stay away from Redskins Park
What about Todd Collins. After all he's done for this franchise, he just gets cut!!!!
No respect, I tell ya! |
Re: Campbell will now stay away from Redskins Park
This sucks for me personally i'm from Alabama i'm a Roll Tide fan tho but football fan nonetheless. But i met Jason when he was at Auburn his senior year him, Cadillac, Ronnie, Carlos & etc. He was a humble, nice, high character individual & he was drafted by my favorite team i loved it. Jason has shown nothing but class over the years and there aren't many people that do that in the NFL. I want to thank him for his services here and i will continue to follow him. Thank You JC!!!

They have made a decision to move on and this decision should be understood and respected by the fans. Football is a business and this is a business decision (a good one if you ask me). Jason had plenty of opportunity to distinguish himself and he never did it. The best thing for him and the team is to move on and that is what is happening here. |

Re: Campbell will now stay away from Redskins Park
JC is a nice guy and well liked by his team however as stated in previous posts, he never won a meaningful games (excluding eagles/cowboys very early in the season a few years ago) ... hang on to the ball for sacks/picks/check downs .. imagine a QB that is going to sling it down the field !!! I still can't believe this happened we are so lucky as skins' fans right now
