Re: f...gibbs
seeing at the end we didnt run to the right side.
|
Re: f...gibbs
It could be worse...we could have Norv Turner and just destroying a championship team like San Diego! Wow, he really knows how to coach em!
|
Re: f...gibbs, kinda harsh after one loss, no?
Very good points.
SO if you know the line is weak, why run it 2 times in a row with your back up?
Got me there. We at least ran it right, but who's idea was it to run the same play both times? How about a pass on 3rd down, if its incomplete it will stop the clock and maybe we aren't so fng rushed on the last play. When are they going to take the restraints off of Campbell? If there is still any doubt about the difference between Portis and Betts, those last two runs were a clear indication to me. That and the block on Pierce, the speed in the open field, lemme stop there. |
Re: f...gibbs
Couldn't have put it any better.
Great post, you're absolutely right.
Totally correctly. However, I'm mostly in shock about the idiotic three last downs on the goal line. The spiking was nuts enough, and then two running plays-- worse, two running plays with Betts right into the heart of the defense. I could believe my eyes. Hey Al-- Cooley was down there on the field. Remember? Another point. We were absolute horrible in the second half. I hope never again to see such bad football. No energy, no guts in the play calling, bad tackling, lousy pass defense. We deserved to lose. It looked like we were asking for it. For one half, we were a team without character. I am really disappointed, not because of the loss, but because of the way we accomplished it. |

Maybe on this day the Giants just wanted it more,it was a hell of a good game.Relax it's a long season.:goodjob:

Re: f...gibbs
Yeah, it sucks...we should have won this game, but we're still on pace for 10-6...that's all I really expected at the beginning of the season. We'll be fine.

I hope thats not true at all. If I was playing on a 2-0 team more than anything I'd wanna pick up that 3rd win. |
Re: f...gibbs
see the problem lies on the disloyal banwagon fans who lost trust in gibbs while the season is still beggining

Re: f...gibbs
Dude you should be banned for using the F word on Gibbs. How quick we turn. If you are a true Redskin fan you remember 4 SB that Gibbs brought here, give the man a chance. He'll get it done, I guarantee it!!
Gibbs II has been a dismal failure so far dude, what are you going to say about that? Last SB was 15 years ago. You can't rest on past laurels in anything. I respect Coach Gibbs, but as the naysayers did say when he came back, the game is fundamentally different than when he won all of those SBs. Also, just look at our drafts and FA acquisitions since the Turner era. Most of them have been busts, and our drafts since the Spurrier era have sucked. Rocky has turned out to be a good solid pick, Rogers is ok, Blades might turn out to be solid, and JC is shaky at the moment. Other than those guys, the other picks were wastes of space. Never have we dealt with our most pressing need since the end of the Turner era, the pass rush. We got Landry at the expense of getting a top DE. Sure Landry looks like a ST clone, but we need to sack the qb so he doesn't even get a chance to pass. Our D made Eli look like a great QB, when he is only half the QB of his older brother. Our offense did OK in the first half today, but sucked the second half. Just OK is not going to get us to the playoffs. You think going to Foxboro, Tampa, Dallas, are going to end up wins for us playing like we did today? Hell the Jets might pull out a win against us if they get their qb situation under control if we keep playing like we did the second half. To be a champion you need to put teams away period, we can't do that yet. My question to you is what are you going to think of Gibbs if we do end up 6-10 or 7-9? No more MB to blame. The D is pretty tight, and we have on paper at least some nice WR's. Gibbs is going to have to take the heat sometime anyway. |

LOL yep, the season is done! |
Re: f...gibbs
I say be patient, the puzzle pieces are in place. Injuries don't help and yes we are short on the DE position, we need someone to go after the QB. Gibbs in second year took this team to the playoffs with an over the hill QB who wore out in Seattle. Last year was a wash, yes I blame Gibbs for sticking with Brunnell a little too long. Campbell is only in his 10th game and shows very promising flashes. Talk to me at the end of the season. You and all the doubters will be kissing his behind. If he has a losing season, I'll still love the man. "Joe Gibbs is the Redskins". If Gibbs never came to Washington we would be just another pathetic franchise. Show some loyalty or go root for the Cowboys, Eagles, Giants, etc.

Re: f...gibbs
Maybe Gibbs needed this shot to the groin so that in the future he will be more aggressive. And let the offensive cor. do his job.

Yup...2-14 season...might as well pack it in now... |
Re: f...gibbs
The season will be done if we continue playing like we played in the second half tonight. You never know what you're gonna get with this team. There are no assurances that we are gonna fix these problems of ours.

Hey dumbass check out the overall record of Gibbs II and tell me if I am mistaken about dismal. A guy(guy who started the thread) is pissed about how the play calling blew the game and criticizes Gibbs about it and gets hammered. Gibbs isn't God and just because Gibbs I was phenomenal, doesn't assure us that Gibbs II will end up that way anyway. And where the hell did I say in my post the season is toast? The point of my post was to say the guy has a right, based on performance the past few seasons with regards to criticizing Gibbs. The part about going 6-10 or 7-9 was hypothetical you moron, not a prediction!!!!!! Read the friggin post again. |
Re: f...gibbs
Ok everyone, are we Redskins fans or not? Then show it by not whining over one loss, everyone has a right to their opinion but to bash Gibbs... Maybe a new forum should be created for Redskins doubters.

Skins have a very nice history actually pre Gibbs, maybe no SB victories, but a proud tradition of making the playoffs and pre SB titles. I like Gibbs, but I think he isn't untouchable with regards to criticism. All HCs are criticized, even legends, that is my major point. Gibbs I never played it safe or throttled back for anything, why does Gibbs II have to? |

Gibbs has always been conservative, remember when he was bringing Rypien and Humphries? Same thing with Campbell, when he sees some of the errors disappear he's going to let it rip like the old days. You watch. |

If everyone was so happy about us losing what would the point of this forum be huh? It would make for a boring blog that is what it would do wouldn't it? Granted saying F--- Gibbs is extreme, but if the guy is pissed the guy is pissed. What makes this loss especially maddening is the way we lost it. We gave it away!!!!!!!! |
Re: f...gibbs
Yeah calm down, i will admit, I was very pissed but not enough to go and beat my kid over.
|
Re: f...gibbs
I would like to add that Gibbs is brilliant by taking the brunt of the blame instead of a player such as Campbell. If the Skins would have passed in the last 2 plays of the game and an interception would of occured, the media would be roasting Campbell for a "bad" decision. Gibbs is trying to build Campbell's confidence level not destroy it by satisfying his own ego. So when you guys (the doubters) blame Gibbs think about what he's trying to accomplish.

Re: f...gibbs
WHY THE HELL WAS BETTS IN THE GAME WITH PORTIS ON THE SIDELINE!!? how many times has betts ran for 1500 yards? He is no where near as good as portis! Hes supposed tonbe the closer? Great call joe!
|
Re: f...gibbs
Had we passed at the goal line 3 times, people would be second-guessing Gibbs. Running the ball from inside the 5 twice, and throwing once seems like a health mix. To criticize the coaching staff for their play calling at the end of the game is Monday morning QB-ing IMO.

thats true, but the point is its one loss that everyone on this fucking forum had as a win,and probably an easy win go back to the first game of last yr,everyone thought we would have an easy time of it with Minnesota,a 37 yr old Brad Johnson will get his ass kicked, well we know what happenned, and the realist knew it was going to be a long season, then you had the people saying relax, its only 1 game If we cant beat a team like the giants when were up 17-3 its going to be a long mfking season,Dallas is probably going to kick our ass so bad I'm going to have to move out of Texas so I dont have to hear all the bs |
Re: f...gibbs
F...this thread
We're saying F Gibbs because we went to heavy jumbo at the end of the game? People are upset about this? Yeah, because heavy jumbo has never worked in Redskins history. We're saying F Gibbs because with the game on the line we didn't put Campbell (who doesn't even have a full season under his belt) in the shotgun so he could call his own plays? Yeah, because Gibbs and Saunders have proven nothing when it comes to playcalling |

Look, I gave us 60% odds at best going into this one. Yeah, I thought we would win it. No, this is not like the Vikings or Titans losses last year. Life goes on. Who cares about Dallas? They have a bad defense and have as many divisional wins this year as we do so far. They aren't going to go into Philly and win, so it really doesn't matter that they are 3-0. We will have to beat them head to head at least once, but we can still do that in week 17 if not before. Thats a really, really long time away. |
Re: f...gibbs
people here thought that we would be 2-1, they just thought the loss would be against the eagles not the giants.

Re: f...gibbs
Ah plz....was it Joes fault when we were WINNING at halftime 17-3 ??????? its the damn players not doing there job. That's flat out retarted!

Enough is enough, he's going on his 5th season back and he's still getting used to "the new" NFL. It's obvious that the game has passed him but he's taking too long to get caught up. |
(in honor of jamf)
What the hell is wrong with him that he STILL think conservative play calling is the way to go? The coaching lost this game for us plain and simple and it's getting to be like this week in and week out. We were all shocked last week when Campbell went deep for Moss (moss missed it) and I think Gibbs felt that was a mistake and wouldn't allow it again or something. How horrendous!
OK............I'll trade you Gibbs for Coughlin, yeah did'nt think so.Someone else said it and I agree ....anyone that says F Gibbs should be banned!Get a Life!Hall of Fame Coach and three Super Bowl victories in 4 trips...oh yeah trade him to us now!:smashfrea |
Re: f...gibbs
Al calls the plays. Not Joe.
that may be true, but i think Al's got a collar on by gibbs...either way...it was too conservative. we don't have the running game that we think (wish) we do... |

Yeah, because Gibbs and Saunders have proven nothing when it comes to playcalling
I think people are just frustrated with the conservative play calling once we get a lead...and lack of execution. Every time we get a lead, we seem to play content...the offense sputters (3 and out) and we end up leaning too heavily on our D. In terms of Gibbs and Saunders having proved nothing- i don't think anyone would say that (that isn't a fool)- but I do think there is something to be said about what they've proven as a tandem calling the shots... |
Re: f...gibbs
People, it's one game. After a night's rest it wasn't that bad. 17-3 against a team in disarray with a Defense that had allowed only one TD in the last 2 1/2 games. We were overconfident at the half and it burned. Stew on this for two weeks and remember the feeling come December when we are up on the Cowboys 20-0 at the half.
When the O-line gets some reps together JC won't be under pressure the whole game and Al will agree to run right on occasion. |
Re: f...gibbs
Coaching lost this game. No other way around it. We have good players and they took the game out of their hands. They decided to be big fucking pussies and get conservative because for christ's sake "we can't do anything that could be risky with a 14 point lead." well dumb shits a 14 point lead mean shits in the nfl when there is an entire half to play. Pass the fucking ball you spineless fucking assholes!! I am suprised they even let JC play the second half. Those f holes! I am livid about this.
