I love how the bad snap/missed assignment is the fault of the coaches.

Ah. Don't make that throw!

Sheriff Gonna Getcha 10-07-2007 01:20 PM

Re: Week 5: Lions at Redskins Game Thread

Why exactly did the coaches call for there to be an ineligible man downfield. ;)

LOL! By the end of the day, it will be Joe Gibbs' fault.
Sorry I'd rather us have a 10 page playbook where we execute 100% than a 700 pg playbook that we execute at 50%... razzle dazzle is fine when you got a lead and play with it, but when you're even or trying to establish a lead go with simple straight ahead football
Again, we all complained that he needed to open it up and try something new, he did that.
I agree about being effective though.

Re: Week 5: Lions at Redskins Game Thread

Why did the coaches call a play in which JC would trip?

jsarno 10-07-2007 01:22 PM

Re: Week 5: Lions at Redskins Game Thread

Is the Lions D stuffing us, or are we not producing at this point?

(seems to me we are not playing to our potential.)

Two weeks to prepare for this game and they look like crap.

Every time we rely on Campbell to do anything, the drive gets killed.

Too many wasted plays.

Execution! That is all that needs to be said.

Re: Week 5: Lions at Redskins Game Thread

the last o series was a matter of execution Sheriff... i have no beef with the playcalling there... so far we do look inept with the fumbling and stumbling

jsarno 10-07-2007 01:25 PM

nevermind...good explanation.

As the announcers have noted, Andre Carter is on fire right now.

A receiver behind ST? Is it 2006 all over again?

jsarno 10-07-2007 01:28 PM

Re: Week 5: Lions at Redskins Game Thread

Wow, the O line for the Lions really sucks! If we can get this much penetration, they suck!

GTripp0012 10-07-2007 01:28 PM

Re: Week 5: Lions at Redskins Game Thread

On a brighter note, the pass rush has been dominant thus far.

Bozzy 10-07-2007 01:29 PM

Re: Week 5: Lions at Redskins Game Thread

if you cant call a timeout before the playclock runs out, it should not count.

Only one pass attempt over 10 yards...yeah might be. ;)

knock kitna out of the game.

No...their O Line is the worst in the league, making it appear we are good...we're not.

LongTimeSkinsFan 10-07-2007 01:30 PM

Re: Week 5: Lions at Redskins Game Thread

Kitna may be on pace for setting the NFL record for getting sacked this year, unless he gets hurt... my money goes on him going down before he breaks the record though

The whistle was being blown around 1-2 seconds left on the clock.

Yeah, but our O-line is also getting pushed back. Granted, they haven't been out long, but they are getting pushed BACK on rushing downs and JC is getting a lot of pressure.
Only one pass attempt over 10 yards...yeah might be. ;)
Not even an attempt that should have been taken.

Hey we still cant catch anything!

Re: Week 5: Lions at Redskins Game Thread

Evans should have had that. I guess that's why he's a lineman. LOL.

LongTimeSkinsFan 10-07-2007 01:33 PM

Re: Week 5: Lions at Redskins Game Thread

true about Evans but another good D series for us... now we just need a sustained O drive to put up some points and give the D a rest

Very true...but we are injured up front, they are not.
Bugel needs to do the coaching of his life up there.

can't argue with that.

Re: Week 5: Lions at Redskins Game Thread

Who would have guessed that after quarter it would be a defensive struggle at 0-0?

GTripp0012 10-07-2007 01:35 PM

Re: Week 5: Lions at Redskins Game Thread

See thats a good play. 80% of the yardage to gain on 2nd down is always a good play.

jsarno 10-07-2007 01:35 PM

Re: Week 5: Lions at Redskins Game Thread

How can you be credited a sack on face mask penalty?

skinsguy 10-07-2007 01:35 PM

Re: Week 5: Lions at Redskins Game Thread

ARE is slowly becoming our goto guy. Guess that's because he's about the only one we can goto today!

Sheriff Gonna Getcha 10-07-2007 01:36 PM

Re: Week 5: Lions at Redskins Game Thread

ARE is quickly becoming one of my favorite players. Even though he bobbled the ball on his last punt return, I actually look forward to punt returns. And, whenever ARE gets the ball in his hand, he jukes, or moves like Dante Hall, Mike Vick, etc. He's just fun to watch.

LongTimeSkinsFan 10-07-2007 01:37 PM

Re: Week 5: Lions at Redskins Game Thread

it seems the Lions D is content with giving us the underneath stuff and taking away the big strike...maybe keep going with that?
