Re: Release Him!!!
Rabach IF we had a replacement...but since we don't....TODD COLLINS.
He's great in Saunders' offense because he had been in it long enough to run with his eyes closed, but he has a weak arm and I have doubts he could step in and take over Zorn's offense effectively. Let's work on developing our QBs and backup QBs of the future, Brennan and Daniel. If these guys don't work out and we have to cut them, what's lost? We'd still have to find a new backup because Collins will be 40 years old and either retired, or just slow and rusty. |
Re: Release Him!!!
I think saden was asking to name a starter you'd release, so I'm not sure Collins would count.
I'd probably go with Suisham |

I'd probably go with Suisham
OK, I saw Thrash mentioned earlier too. If starters only, I agree....SUISHAM! |

Re: Release Him!!!
Rabach. We could replace him with a speedbump and get better results.
Far less TD-canceling penalties with a speedbump. |

That was one game which we ended up winning. Did people go on and on about cutting Kendall (whose mistake actually did lose the game for us)? |

Pete's sitting at home now. :) Casey is just very lucky we couldn't land Alex Mack in the draft, or he would be too. |

I thought his contract was up, not that we cut him? Maybe I am mistaken here? |

You are right about Pete's contract. My point is that I see people ripping Rabach over and over again and it seems that a lot of people can't get past that series at Dallas. My question was if people were as mad at Kendall whose mental mistake actually lost a game for us (at a minimum a 10 point swing possibly a 14 point swing) as opposed to Rabach's errors which only made the margin closer. |

His penalty against the chargers a few years ago still kills me especially since Im in charger country. |
Re: Release Him!!!
Suisham for sure. He was the worst kicker in the league last year yet somehow he is still on the roster without even any serious competition for his job.
|
Re: Release Him!!!
Betts!!!!!!!!
|
Re: Release Him!!!
They should release more than one.Jansen,Smoot,Griffen, and Randle El.
|

You're defending the tight ends aren't you? (don't worry quake, your secret is safe with the warpath...we dont judge) (at least some of us don't) lol. |

Re: Release Him!!!
I'll go with ARE there are a lot of receivers making way less money doing sooo much more for there teams..and Betts even though he's not a starter, that's another waste of a roster spot..
|
Re: Release Him!!!
Freddy Smoot - $4.1M (2009), $5.4M (2010), $6.9M in (2011). Is this a joke? Kevin Barnes was drafted high to take his place, Smoot might end up a really high paid scrub. Smoot isn't worth half that much. He has the 10th highest cap number on the team in 09, he is not the 10th best player. But we will be forced to carry Smoot in 09 because we do not have enough cap space to cut him. If another young DB besides Barnes shows promise, we might have a tough time making a roster spot for the young guys and Smoot.
Jon Jansen - His pass protection is seriously lacking. Jansen looks as stiff as board. His roster spot would be better suited for developing a young guy, not for a guy that looks past his prime. With cap numbers of $6.4M in 2010 & 2011 he is gone after this season. I really like Randy Thomas when is healthy. Can he stay healthy? |
Re: Release Him!!!
I'm hearing that Zorn does not consider Jansen a starter anymore.
That being said... ARE. |

Re: Release Him!!!
Byron Westbrook, he makes the most sense to let go.
|

Once again, we're talking starters.

Re: Release Him!!!

Re: Release Him!!!
It is between THrash and ARE without a doubt. I wouldn't cut Jansen, but would demote him, that way you could get better use of him since he can't start for a whole season anymore. Granted that Thrash did do a stint in Philly, but to me he is still a Norv retread, that never really amounted to much. He peaked during his time with Philly anf now is even worse than his days with Norv. You guys are right, ARE is a total waste of space. A lot of our more athletic posters in here could have given the Skins better production.

I think as the #3 ARL will surprise a lot of us and be a really nice compliment to the offense...it's relying on him as #2 that sucks. Basically it revolves around Devin stepping up and being our #2 WR, taking focus off Moss and leaving ARL to finds pockets underneath. There's a lot of potential w/ what we have... |
