And the Bills. Jags rumored front runner...which would be interesting since former Jags star Byron Leftwich could be starting in Roethlisberger's place in Pittsburgh |

Kharma says he should be shipped to Oakland... although If Jacksonville traded for Rothlisberger and still drafted Tebow, it would certainly be entertaining.

Re: Steelers Actively Shopping Big Ben for a Top 10 Pick
Ok here are my thoughts on the trade and the suspension.
#1 The suspension is right in line, and I heard on Sirius NFL radio it could go past 6 games if Ben fails to conform to the guide lines set forth by Rodger Goddell or the pyschologist gives a bad report to the NFL during his pyscho analysis. In my mind Ben is getting off easily. I do not know if any of you have followed the case reports, but I have as I. My mother was recently sexually assualted in her own home. A man knocked on the door, mother answered and he sexauly assaulted her in the first degree. She was the only one home and the perp was watching her for 3 days studying her habits. I can't tell you the anger I still feel just typing this. They way the whole act went down is utterly sick, and it is more of a star player using his fame and also his feelings of invinsibility to get away with rape. Rather than using his star power to find a willing participant which I am sure there are plenty of them out there. #2 The Steelers as a franchise and particulary the Rooney Family should get this guy of thier team. This is his second offense, and I am having a hard time beleiving that the incident that took place out west was in any way harmless, and it would seem that Ben is going down a very destructive path and picking up some extremely dangerous behavior. After the motorcycle wreck and 2 civil sexuall assault cases I would not want this asshole on my football team. I don't care how many superbowls this douche has won. YOU DON'T IN ANY WAY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF WOMEN, BEAT WOMEN, OR SEXUALLY ABUSE WOMEN. This is a pathetic excuse of a man and a professional football player. I could go on but I will discontinue my rant on Ben. He isn't worth the time I have spent on the subject already. |

If he goes to either city, he'll be so damaged by the time his contract expires that his career will be effectively over.[/B][/quote] That would be incredible...I live in Pittsburgh and a few friends of mine had the 'pleasure' of meeting Big Ben a few years ago. He was with Charlie Batch and Randle El's brother and he (ben) was the biggest douchebag in the world according to my friends. It's good to see that the world sees what a piece of crap he is. |
Re: Steelers Actively Shopping Big Ben for a Top 10 Pick
Every story that i have ever heard about this guy is that he is a first class d-bag. Nice to see even two super bowl rings can't wash that off.

Re: Steelers Actively Shopping Big Ben for a Top 10 Pick
On the douche bag note. Ben owns part of a restaurant here in Mount Pleasant, SC. A friend on mine's ex works there. Ben was randomly texting every girl who worked at this establishment. When one of the girls finally responded to him, the dude texted her about 55 times in 24 hours.
not normal behavior for anyone. I am so surprised to see an NFL QB have no game when it comes to women. What a tool. |
Re: Steelers Actively Shopping Big Ben for a Top 10 Pick
:smashfreahow is no many bringing up the fact that Big Ben leaving Pitt. is FREAKING CRAZY NEWS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your talking about a 2 time super bowl winning QB who hasn't been arrested for anything and they are just going to ship him off .. this is crazy news and makes McNabb look like small potatoes .. i'm just trying to digest this whole ordeal, I understand that Big Ben has some major baggage and has def made some really poor choices but this is madness ..

Every day that passes by, makes me wish the worst for him. If the Steelers are really trying to trade him they know more to the story than we do. They have the story from the teammates and the bodygaurds that will eventaully comeout. The Steelers are asking for a top 10 pick but Im sure they will settle for less. Rapistburger just screwed himself in the bumhole.

Re: Steelers Actively Shopping Big Ben for a Top 10 Pick
It was just reported on by Adam Schefter on ESPN that the Steelers are now calling other teams around the league to try and move him. I will be interested to see what kind of compensation they end up bringing in for him.

I certainly wouldn't go to a restaurant because a Pitt. player owns it, don't know if I'd boycott it because Ben is part owner either, but would like to know the name & location please. Back on topic, I am surprised that people are this upset about Big Ben. Not saying he doesn't deserve some public scrutiny, I just don't think its enough to warrant trading him, unless there was more of a discipline issue w/the team that's not reported. I think Pitt. is just trying to scare him, as a PItt. reporter said last night. |

King Street Grill. It is right off hungry neck Blvd. The new road they built recently that travels from the Georgetownn exit off I526 and goes to the IOP connector. I love Chuck Town as well, but we are headed back to the Northern Virginai area.

i don't think its just a ruse. if someone offered pittsburg a top 10 pick for rothlisberger, I think they would take it. I think what we're seeing here is a case where no one - not even the Steelers - want him around. he's just not worth the risk.

With rape and sexual assault there is no "debt" to pay off. In fact most rapist, including child molesters, get out way to early. Maybe, and I emphasize maybe, you can recover from sexual harassment, but if you are proven to be a rapist you should be phased out of society. Weather it be staying in jail or simply having no one wanting to talk to you. |

Agreed. That's a crime that can never fully heal for the victim. If is not a physical crime, it's a lifelong emotional/psychological scar. It's not about sex, it's about power and control over the victim. Sex addict education or rehab won't do any good. Rapists and child molesters should be automatically castrated and/or put away forever. I wouldn't even care if they were put to death. They've crossed a moral line in the same way a murderer does. Once you commit that crime, you can not be rehabilitated. It's easy to be a repeat offender and statistics back that up. It's a line that you've crossed that separates those who can live in society amongst other people and those who can't. |
Re: Steelers Actively Shopping Big Ben for a Top 10 Pick
And just to be clear I don't think Lotus was suggesting that you could pay a debt to society. Rather he was anticipating the excuses you would hear from someone down the road thats would be interested in signing Ben after getting convicted.
@Buster -Glad to see someone that feels the same way I do about the crime in general. |

Ha ha, to true. I remember watching their Americans Game presentation for the year they beat us in the Super Bowl and they relished in the fact that they basically did whatever they could to cheat. Or as they explained it "gaining an edge." Stuff like deflated balls for opponents during home games, getting away with holding calls on purpose, hitting people in scrums after the play, stuff like that. |
Re: Steelers Actively Shopping Big Ben for a Top 10 Pick
Per Adam Schefter:
Let's rule out some more potential landing spots for Ben Roethlisberger: No Raiders, no Jaguars. about 6 hours ago via web If Schefter is right then that seals it. Ben won't be traded. |

Weren't they also the team that watered the field strategically to create mud pits on sunny California game days where it hadn't rained for weeks, and their players knew where they were? I saw that last week on NFLN...think it was the Raiders. It was on Top 10 Home Field Advantages. |

Can't say it has because it is not widely known that he is an owner. I only came across the info after the case in GA. Before that I ate thier a few times, and Ben being an owner is not advertised in the establishment. |

Ben hasn't served jail time (sadly) so his image remains in the dumpster, where it belongs. Rehabilitated scum is looked upon more favorably than just plain scum. |
