Shanahan needs to just let Galloway go the same route as Willie Parker and Larry Johnson. OFF THE TEAM. Of course, Galloway will make a bad cut and enter a nursing home.

Amen...Galloway is dead weight, might as well promote someone off of the practice squad and start getting some game experience in. |

We're playing like hot dog shit, and saying we "should" beat anyone at this point is a joke.
TB is legit because they are so young. Freeman is a very good QB and that D is getting better and better. I would almost be willing to say 3 south teams will make the playoffs but I think Philly and NY both get in. When you look at the best teams in the NFC, we don't come close to any of them. Yea we beat GB but honestly we shouldn't have and we should have lost to Chicago also if it wasn't for Hall having a MIKE VICK day on defense. We just don't have the talent to be a playoff team. On Offense we literally have maybe 2-3 guys that could start on another PLAYOFF roster.. McNabb, Cooley and Williams. |

Yep,c'mon Seattle,Atlanta and Niners...
|
Re: OK..BYE's are over: Time to keep track of our Playoff hopes thread
Ok, I had us 10-6 or 9-7 at the beginning of the year. After Mon. people laughed at me saying no way we beat the Titans. Looking at the rest of the schedule;
Vikes- Win Giants- Loss Bucs- Win Cowboys- Win Jags- Win Giants- Win See 10-6. We have some wiggle room, we lose one extra, perhaps the Cowboys or Giants. |
Re: OK..BYE's are over: Time to keep track of our Playoff hopes thread
Well...It looks like Atlanta is the only one that will help us out this week.
there up 26-17 right now with about 7 min. to play It gives the Rams another loss. I'll update main thread later this week. |
Re: OK..BYE's are over: Time to keep track of our Playoff hopes thread
Crazy..with the bears,now packers
tampa bay and saints winning..it's going to be difficult to gain any ground for a WC spot people... Crazy as it sounds..we may just have to try to win division... and if that's the case...we want the Giants to win tonight.. makes them 2-1 in div. with 2 against the skins and 1 more against philly... they still have @G.B. @Minny and the Jags as well... We can catch the giants..don't think we could catch philly... |
Re: OK..BYE's are over: Time to keep track of our Playoff hopes thread
3-3 down the stretch with a chance at 4-2, gonna be tough though.
|
Re: OK..BYE's are over: Time to keep track of our Playoff hopes thread
I still don't believe we will make the playoffs barring a nice winning streak Ace, but as long as we aren't mathematically eliminated there is still hope.
Minny: Iffy, Brett Favre is either hit or miss and against our secondary he could have a decent day. NY: Iffy, especially considering we haven't beat them since our late season winning streak in 2007. Bucs: Iffy, we always have a hard time against the Bucs and they have a good team this year with lots of good young talent. Cowboys: Iffy, they've looked good in 2 consecutive weeks against the Lions and Giants, and we're not going to be facing the same team with the same attitude they had in week 1. Jags: Iffy, just because they have a decent team and I'm thinking this will be a close game. Giants: See the first Giants post above. So in the end I can pretty much easily see us winning or losing every single one of these games. It all depends on our attitude, the right combination of preperation and luck, but it is doable. Still though our team has been very inconsistent this season and I wouldn't be suprised if this continued, and we finished 8-8. Not to mention there is a lot of competition for the 6 playoff spots in the NFC this year. Other competition for 6 playoff spots: Eagles Giants -------- Saints Falcons Bucs -------- Bears Packers -------- NFC West winner, one of those teams has to take that title. Might be the Rams. So as you can see that's 8 teams right there, and we do have the edge over Bears and Packers if it comes down to tiebreakers, but Saints/Falcons is out of our hands and our game against the Bucs will be huge if we need to get in over them. It definitely won't be easy and if we don't make the playoffs I won't be too disappointed, because I'd rather reload and get better for next season anyways, and if we did make the playoffs I don't think we'd survive long. |
Re: OK..BYE's are over: Time to keep track of our Playoff hopes thread
The Eagles have;
Giants Bears Texans Cowboys Giants Vikes Cowboys The Eagles still have a pretty tough schedule. I think Mon. was a fluke. Not that they are not good but not as good as we made them look. The Giants have; Eagles Jaguars Redskins Vikes Eagles Packers Redskins They have a pretty tough schedule as well. Eagles twice, Packers, Redskins twice. I'm not saying we will win it all or take the division, but ending on a good note 9-7 at the least is possible and would be great after changing so much. |
Re: OK..BYE's are over: Time to keep track of our Playoff hopes thread
Moob,
I can see us beating the Vikes. they have been competative sometimes but I think they are not as good as years past. all the adversity has stressed them I think. Plus all the losing. I think we lose to the Giants in their new stadium, maybe we pull one out but I doubt it. The Bucs game will be close but I think we have better talent and better coaching. The Cowboys will be interesting. It's still the same team, I just think no one knew what Garret would bring to the table. I think we can pull out a close win. Again. The Jags are questionable. Which Jag team will show up? When I don't think they are a good team they have a couple of good games. I think we can win it though. The last Giants game is on our turf. With the crowd noise, after they have taken a beating from the Eagles twice and Packers, hopefully we can pull this one out. |
Re: OK..BYE's are over: Time to keep track of our Playoff hopes thread
Our own turf has been the house of a record right around .500. You might as well flip a coin.

But I can also see Brett Favre having a good day against our secondary and keeping them in the game, unless the crazy happens and he finally gets benched. If T.Jack is in the game I think it would be much harder on us, he's more of a dual threat than Brett Favre is. And who knows about the Giants, maybe if they lose to the Eagles tonight it will send their season and their morale crashing down and we might have a better chance at beating them. I just know it's going to be tough because they've beaten us 4 consecutive times. Bucs will be close and I think unpredictable, same as Jags. Cowboys, well I know better than to make a prediction because rivalry games are often unpredictable. Records can go out the window in these. It's doable but it def. won't be easy, and if we continue to be inconsistent the rest of the season I think we'll finish somewhere between 7-9 and 8-8. We'll see. |

Re: OK..BYE's are over: Time to keep track of our Playoff hopes thread
I'm worried that its more of a hail mary attempt for the Skins to make it into the plyaoffs and that they are chasing "Waterfalls". We are far from a worthy playoff team at that but "I ain't too proud to beg".Meanwhile, the NFC south is 13-7 and is playing great ball in the past 5 weeks while the NFC West is 7-13 and is garunteed a playoff spot.
|
Re: OK..BYE's are over: Time to keep track of our Playoff hopes thread
I really think we would have to win out just to make it. We might be looking at one NFC South team going 10-6 and still not making it. I know we've done that in the past but the main difference between those teams and this year's team is that this year's defense is pretty bad and the offense has had its' problems too. I just think the NFC is too stacked to make it this season.
|
Re: OK..BYE's are over: Time to keep track of our Playoff hopes thread
I think we have to win out and have some other miracles happen around the league. But we're not a playoff type of team right now so winning out is highly unlikely.

OK...Saints win and go 8-3..
and Dallas is 3-8 We can now hope we get some help from Dallas to beat Philly once/twice.(Dallas is finished...you can take them out of any Playoff scenarios) This would be huge,if we can string some wins together. Big games this weekend guys... A bears win over philly A Jags win over G-Men A Falcons win over G.B. and a Ravens win over Tampa ...with us beating Minny would be HUGE!! We don't need them all,but even 1 or a couple will help us a bunch. But no matter what....if we win this weekend,we're playing for 2nd place next week. HTTR!! |

While a win this weekend would of course be big, we need to win at least one Giants game and the Bucs game far more. 9-7 will probably be good enough for the final NFC spot. The Bears, Giants and Bucs have brutal upcoming schedules and while we don't have an easy slate, by comparison it's not nearly as daunting. |
Re: OK..BYE's are over: Time to keep track of our Playoff hopes thread
Hopefully the NFC East looks like this Monday Morning
Eagles 7-4 (lost to Bears) Redskins 6-5 (beat Vikings) Giants 6-5 (lost to Jags) Cowboys 3-8 (lost to Saints) Rest of NFC... ---------------------------------------------------- Bears 8-3 (beat philly) Packers 7-4 (Lost to Atlanta) Vikings 3-8 (Lost to Skins) Atlanta 9-2 (beat packers) Saints 8-3 (beat dallas) Tampa Bay 7-4 (Lost to Ravens) Not only would we be just 1 game back from the NFC East Division lead(philly),but only 1 game off one(6th seed) of the two final Wildcard playoff spots as well. ( Packers or Tampa Bay would currently share the 6th seed) (Saints would hold the 5th seed) We can do this!! Go Redskins! |

This is what needs to happen: We win out. Because a potentially 13-3 NFC South team will take the 5 seed, and if you want to be the 6th seed that's what we gotta do. Right now there are 7 teams with better records ahead of us in the NFC, and we're not even counting the NFC West winner which has to take 1 playoff spot. Teams with better records than us: Philly NYG Atlanta New Orleans Tampa Bay Chicago Green Bay The only team on that list that has 6 or less wins is NY. It helps we have 2 games against them, but you need to remember those 7 teams are fighting for 5 playoff spots (Don't include the 6th because NFC West has to send one team, which will take that spot). Instead of analyzing who we need to lose, just keep your mind on winning out. |

Re: OK..BYE's are over: Time to keep track of our Playoff hopes thread
Our only hope is to win the East..
Saints Falcons Packers Bears Seahawks are all in IMO. Bears will get the 6th seed at 9-7 TB will finish 8-8. I dont see Chicago finishing any worse than 9-7, their D is too good and they will beat Detroit and Minnesota. Seattle will get in by default which is a damn joke, 8 wins may win that division Hell maybe even 7. We basically have to win out or go 5-1 the rest of the way to win the East. Our losses to STL and DET will come back to haunt us |
Re: OK..BYE's are over: Time to keep track of our Playoff hopes thread
One game at a time like Smooty said, and don't get your hopes up. 8 teams currently have a better record than us:(TB, GB, ATL, Chi, NO,Philly, NY, and the NFC West champ)
TB: Young, exciting team that is playing with a "let's show them" type attitude. Can fall down the stretch if Freeman and Blount get hurt, but their defense is solid also. This is a definite must win if we are a playoff team GB: Too powerful all around to fall from grace, unless they get decimated in the next month. ATL: ANother loaded team that is relatively young. Killer schedule might hamper them, but if they prevail against the Pack I am all in with them getting the first round bye. Chi: Great D, decent O line and running game, but stuck with a bipolar passing attack, that can hinder the running game. Too bad we couldn't play them. Gmen: THis team is hurting in my opinion and we all know Eli is pretty erratic like Cutler. I can see us splitting the series with the Gmen and maybe sweeping them if we get Eli on two "off" days. Philly: Might get beat up a bit in Chicago, but other than that they will be a 11-12 victory team. And seeing what they did to us on MNF, we simply can't touch that!! NO: The defending champs aren't playing explosive ball as of late on offense, but they are winning regardless, and are still solid on both sides of the pigskin. NO or ATL will get a frist round bye. NFC West Champ: It is a shame that the division winners are locked into the playoffs, because the Skins could win a rematch against the Rams and could beat down the Seahawks most Sundays. |
Re: OK..BYE's are over: Time to keep track of our Playoff hopes thread
I know trAdition is tradition but I think better records means better teams and that's how the playoffs should go down.
