Re: Training Camp 2017
Vernon Davis will probably end up being the starter at several points in the season. I hope I am proven wrong, but Reed seems like he is not very durable thus far. I am glad we got another TE.

Pryor and Doctson > Garcon and Jackson. I think the biggest key to our success is Doctsons health and starting Zach Brown.
I'd say starting Zach Brown alongside Mason Foster. They're the best we got at ILB. Just figure out this signals calling thing already... |

Fuller seems to be doing great. Really good news, want him and Breeland pushing each other to their best. It'll give Moreau some time to develop. |
Re: Training Camp 2017
The media is obsessed with us losing Jackson and Garcon. Do these idiots know that we invested in what many think was the best wr in the draft last year? Do they realize that we have Pryor as well. Potentially these are better wr's than Garcon and Jackson? Jackson is just instant offense..can't block, gets hurt, time to move on. Also do these assholes mention Crowder and Reed? I just don't get why the so called experts think we're going to take a step back. Personally I think this offense may explode this year.
Keeping our qb for another season is not a bold move. Its like a lot of the media root for us to fail. Its weird.
Bleacher Report went all video and social media. I don't like the new format. Like I really care what a player tweets. Give me some real news. |
Re: Training Camp 2017
In their defense, I feel like a lot of media outlets have been focusing on this.
It is the only thing going on with the franchise that will get a lot of clicks. All sports media sites have gone full retard with posting tweets and watering down content. Real reporting is a thing of the past. |
Re: Training Camp 2017
The Skins official site post players tweets all the time and most of the time they are not football related or personal. That would bug me as a player.

Re: Training Camp 2017
the first preseason game is Cowboys and Jerry going into the HOF...think I gonna pass watching. But I still should be able to smell the pile of bullshit at the podium here in Richmond when that pasty white bastard speaks.

Re: Training Camp 2017
Its weird how our roster is way better than last year when we were 1 game from the playoffs, but our predictions for this year are very low in a lot of publications. I think we come in 2nd. Giants in 1st and Cowboys in 3rd. With all 3 with good chance of playoffs.
Well, I think most talking heads see both the Giants and Cowboys as stronger teams that, barring injury, will continue to improve - particularly the Cowboys b/c of the Dak/Zeke element (which also makes good press/clicks). We have a really tough schedule logistically, lots of travel to the west coast and no extended home stands (most consecutive games at home is two late in the season, otherwise it rotates home/away throughout the season). While we believe that we have improved our roster, the improvements are not the kind that jump out all at once. We are starting two new safeties - one who has yet to play it on a regular basis at the pro-level and one who, though highly drafted, has bounced through four teams in his first five years. Last year, generally, we lacked play makers on defense. On offense, we let our starting WR's walk and replaced them with a guy who couldn't get on the field last year and converted QB who most consider still very raw in the new position. Add in the offseason drama and this is a team that - to paraphrase the old adage - only a died-in-the-burgundy-wool fan could love. Bottom line is that until the Skins show the ability to be consistent winners from year to year, they will always be picked to lose. |

Re: Training Camp 2017
Two winning season with less than 10 wins. Backroom drama. Teams that appear much more stable and/or better run in the same division.
If we have a 10+ win record this season, maybe we get some respect. Otherwise, if you weren't a fan, would you bet any money on the Skins improving? |

Skins are always an easy target to pick on, while the Cowboys and Giants are media darlings.

This time of year is when all the propaganda comes out about how great your team is doing in training camp.
Week One; hello reality check skins fans. |

Ive heard from everyone...Cowherd, DP, and other "insiders" that the Eagles will be vastly improved due to Torrey Smith (whos looked absolutely terrible so far) and Ashlon Jeffery...and the Defense has already been made top 10 based on their D-Cord. Plus Carson Wentz...who was abysmal the second half...will be much better this year, just because. Eagles will struggle to get to .500. |
Re: Training Camp 2017
The Skins self destructed in a few games last year. Until we put together solid steady performances the media and fans will always put us in the wannabe category. We easily could have had a 10 win season last year, but we didn't.
I am optimistic about the year, but the Skins have to do it on the field every week to gain any real respect. |

Re: Training Camp 2017
I agree on the Eagles. I think Kelly did a LOT of damage to their roster, basically leaving them with no D, no O-line and no depth anywhere. Jeffrey is at least a legit starter, T. Smith is pretty much a one trick pony.
Not sure why they get the love, but, whatever. We'll see how it all shakes out Sept. 1. When it comes to the Skins, I think a lot of the talking heads are seeing the FO meltdown between Scot McC leaving and the KC debacle. It's the freshest things in people's minds. Most of their moves have been under the radar and the "Hey we are improved!" cry gets a bit old when it seems like the same old same old. I am hopeful that this is good team, but it needs to stop the run, stop the long ball and punch it in inside the 20 consistently before I start buying into the pre-season trope that a corner has been turned. |

Just turned on NFLN and saw that Reed is seeing a specialist for his toe. There's no timetable for his return. That doesn't sound good at all.

That is why we kept Davis and drafted a TE. I hope his concussion epidemic was only a one time thing, or this guy won't last 2 more seasons. |
Re: Training Camp 2017
Every body seems to love what they're seeing from Junior Galette, if he stays healthy, he could be a real threat, of the kind we virtually NEVER had !
Cooley's also impressed with Allen's debuts in camp... Our pass rush could take a huge step forward! |

As for the talking trash, I don't know much about it but apparently defenders were complaining he was being too physical in thud drills... which I don't know how much I really dislike... |
Re: Training Camp 2017
I feel that we almost can't help being better on defense this season because of what I'll call the "Beast Factor" of players that we've added. By that I mean relentless, hard-hitting players such as Ryan Anderson, Zach Brown, Junior Gallete, and DJ Swearinger.
Also, Cravens is listed at 244 (?!) pounds as a SS. Can that be accurate? Stacy McGee is listed at 341 pounds. Did Stacy eat an elephant just before he weighed in? Is he slated to play NT for the Skins? |

Re: Training Camp 2017
Maybe he bulked up in anticipation of losing weight during the season. Maybe last year towards the end of the year he lost so much weight he couldn't be effective. I read an article that said Strasburg eats a ton before every start because he loses like 10 pounds of water weight during a game. I know baseball is a different sport but as physical as football is it's not hard for me to see players losing weight during games.

Looks like they dodged one:: Sterling Shepard has been diagnosed with a low-ankle sprain. This is the best possible news the Giants could have received. Not only did Shepard avoid a major injury, he also didn't suffer the dreaded high-ankle sprain that can linger for upwards of a month. Shepard should be back sooner than later IN regards to the tears, that's just typical for soft ass Giants WRs. In terms of bitch-factor, his sissy cred just went up. They should make "bitch-factor" attribute on Madden, Odell Bitchem Jr. would have a 99. |

Really like the fact the organisation is trying their best to make KC look like the franchise QB. Seems they didn't quit on hoping he can sign here next season. I think it all depends on if we have a really good season or not. Also like the fact they put the part where he laughs about a "It's KIRK not KURT" sign in the footage. I know it's training camp/preseason, but I love that the team all seems to be moving in the same direction, no drama as of yet, and a lot of basic positive reviews. It's got to show up on the field, but this seems like it could be a real good season.
