Daniel Jones 4-0 that is cringe worthy
We shit on him a lot and rightfully so but the record can't be ignored. Until we beat him we have no room to talk. |

It will be really tough for the defense to be in top 3 for the entire season, we will play multiple good-great QBs this year. |
His problems are angles, diagnosis, etc. Not athleticism. In theory, at least trying him at a position where those weaknesses are minimized, CB, isn't ridiculous. More smart moves FO. May be only way he makes team, or could be just more versatility.
That being said, sure feels like time to move on. For some guys, the light just never comes on.
I'd add tackling to that. He's not a very sound tackler. |

These are the QBs we face this year, and their records against us: D Prescott - 7-1 M Ryan - 5-0 T Brady - 5-1 D Jones - 4-0 A Rodgers - 4-3 R Wilson - 3-1 T Bridgewater - 2-0 J Allen - 1-0 P Mahomes - 1-0 S Darnold - 1-0 D Carr - 0-1 J Hurts - 0-1 J Herbert (Rookie of the Year) --- J Winston --- A combined 33-8 against us. We have a better defense now than we had in most of those games, but yeah, the offense is going to have to take a couple steps forward for this team to repeat in the NFC E. |

Dak's last 2 starts against us, both wins 9/15/19: 26 of 30 for 269 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT, 5 rushes for 69 yards 12/29/19: 23 of 33 for 303 yards, 4 TDs, 0 INT, 3 rushes for 35 yards Yeah straight trash |

Simple point was Dak is not trash. Hate on him all you want as a Cowboy, but to deny the fact he's a top 10-12 QB is just dumb.

Agreed. Dak would be an instant upgrade here. Not looking at cost ratio just talent alone

Yup. And I hate the Cowboys and Dak. Thought he was going to flop in the NFL and he has continually proven me wrong. Maybe this will be the year he tanks? [emoji120] |
Re: Washington Football Team Defense 2021
Dak is a solid, consistent QB and does many things well ... there are just a bunch of QB's who do those things better. He's the guy who finishes in the top 5-10 in all the various categories of QB abilities, but not at the top of any of the categories - maybe not even in the top 5.
I don't remember him ever making a crucial mistake that cost his team a win, but I have seen him make some really good plays to win games. While I am psyched about FitzMagic, Dak would have been an excellent solution to our long-term QB issue. Nevertheless, this Defense is going to make him and every other QB along the way look very, very mediocre. |

Not trash at all, just overhyped and overpaid. Dallas was talking about cutting him and maybe drafting Fields...then paid him most of their salary cap because he's playing hardball. There was even talks about them being in the Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes. In the minority here but I think Dak qualifies as elite. The stats back it up and he's 5th in game winning drives since 2016. Remains to be seen if he can get back to pre-injury form but before that he was absolutely putting up stud numbers on an otherwise lackluster team. |

Back to how this all started, I agree we could see the D take a step back at least statistically. Our schedule is loaded with top level QBs, including Dak. |

Their receiving corp, especially when Witten was on it was very good, and Elliots first years he was a beast too. That said, Dak doesnt make many mistakes, so he was a great qb to manage that offense and he did a top quality job. I would have taken him here if the Cowboys had been dumb enough to let him walk. Right now I put the NFC East Qbs Dak RF Dimes Whoever starts for Philly And the gap between Dak and RF isnt nearly as big as the gap between RF and Dimes. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |
Re: Washington Football Team Defense 2021
My NFCE qb rankings:
1. Dak 2. Hurts - just for playmaking ability right now with his legs, he still needs work at throwing 3. Fitzmagic - he's consistently inconsistent. If he could be consistently above average he'd be #2 on this list. 4. Jones - he's obv. still a work in progress, but shouldn't be overlooked considering he's 4-0 against us. |
Re: Washington Football Team Defense 2021
Can put Hurts above anyone in the division right now, he just hasn't proven anything especially from the pocket.
It's Dak, Fitz, Jones, and Hurts a distant 4th. |

Dak is hands down best QB in NFC East, based on track record, but that is pre-injury Dak. Sucks all our games against Cowboys late in season, which will in theory give him time to be fully recovered and work the rust off. I'm not sure I call Dak elite, like say Rodgers or Mahomes, I would put him in tier just below, but he is a very good QB. He often plays big when it counts, but won't matter with team Jones as GM, that clown show will never win a SB. |

I did say he needs work as a passer, obviously it's not there yet. But he can keep plays alive and make plays with his feet. That counts for something. Fitzpatrick is just too inconsistent for me. No doubt he will make plays for us, show us things we haven't seen since Kirk, but he has never been able to be consistent with it. He's gonna wow us with a throw one minute, and the next throw a terrible pick. It's who he is. Jones is Jones, I'd like to shit-talk him some more but dude's 4-0 against us. Record doesn't lie. |

Hurts has a lot of work to do as a capable NFL passer and I don't yet have a feel fo his ceiling. Our depth, including at QB, is much stronger now than in seasons past. It's nice to know a single injury shouldn't knock out an entire position for us. |

That being said, Flacco is a very solid backup for Iggles, which even though older, is a SB winning QB. He is hands down the best #2 in division. |

The premise passes the eye test.
I love playing more man and moving towards man DBs. Tough to find great man CBs and DBs though, hope we have. Allows you to be super aggressive pass rushing. Richard Sherman (the antithesis of a man CB) is average at best without a HOF FS behind him, versus more Darrell Green type CBs. I'm not sure I buy that Juste a man CB, especially deeper, but let's hope he is. FO is clearly reworking roster gradually, DBs, OL, WR, to make it in the mold they want. I expect the same at RB and LB much more next year, and secondary as well, in the draft. We desperately need a home-run threat RB. |
