[quote=CRedskinsRule;1294148]I heard from a source that they both were all lined up to take the team's call but Shank cut the call short, and Doink bounced off the wall with excitement and sprained his ankle.

Re: The Saints come Marching in..
I actually think Davis given the opportunity is going to show why he was a 1st round pick. As someone else said, our D didn't get on track till Collins got injured last year, and I believe JDR especially is loathe to play young players unless forced too, and that RR isn't going to force players on him.
I don't know if we will win, but I think a LB crew of Holcomb, Davis and Hudson will be far more effective than what has been on the field till now. |
Re: The Saints come Marching in..
Well, I have a hard time believing it could possibly be worse, but we'll find out on Sunday.
|
Re: The Saints come Marching in..
Jaylon Smith was released by Dallas. I’d definitely be calling about him. He may not be the star he hoped he’d be but he’s certainly better than anything we’ve got.
|
Re: The Saints come Marching in..
Jaylon Smith is a unique physical specimen…and he had a couple decent years, one outstanding, gotta think what happened? Did he just get paid and check out?
|
Re: The Saints come Marching in..
No doubt.
There are TWO fairly decent LBs out there (Collins and Smith) but I'm getting frustrated at how Rivera and JDR are like, "Naaah. We good." It's almost like they're saying THEIR roster selections will pan out, to just give it time. |
Re: The Saints come Marching in..
He's better than what we have so yes I hope we sign him asap
|
Re: The Saints come Marching in..
Jaylen Smith sucks. He isn't any better than Bostic. There's a reason he is out on the street.

I worry about him undisciplined in the scheme. In the past when reading about his play “out of position” seemed to be a common theme. |
Re: The Saints come Marching in..
We are 11th in scoring offense (25 ppg) did not see that coming..
Saints are 18th in the league. No Mike Thomas this week again should be a huge relief to our DBs. Winston really has no true #1 WR. |

The guy is never in position, undisciplined won't stay in his hole. Plus the injury concern. I just would not touch that guy. The Cowboys were so bad on d last year and he was a big reason why. Gilmore was released by the Pats. I would take a look there asap. |

However I just don't think Taylor will get away w/ the stuff he did last week. He could have easily had two picks as a few were flat out dropped. |
Re: The Saints come Marching in..
He is one dimensional due to the knee injury. Decent on the run but can't cover in pass. I hope the Giants pass on him.

Re: The Saints come Marching in..
Listening to Smoot on Keim pod about the secondary…he makes sense, 1. These guys haven’t played enough together. They are still too new. 2. Moving guys to their strength could help the defense. Curl should be strong safety. Fuller to free safety. Collins to linebacker. St juse and will Jax boundary corner.

^^ all makes sense. Except Collins said no to LB and didnt get coached up on the position in TC. I say on known passing plays, tell Collins he is a safety but put him where Bostic usually is on those 3rd and longs. |

Yeah. It seems like Qbs no. 1 option is always open so the ball comes out quick, pass rush is neutralized. Herbert exposed that week 1. But I have hope. I do believe RR's team will get better as the season goes on. I think we peak right when we hit that 5 game NFCE stretch to end the season. Our D can only get better. |

Big Shoutout to the OL
They are 2nd in the league in sacks given up! That is amazing |

Re: The Saints come Marching in..
Yeah I'm surprised they are doing as well but I think the play of 4 has def helped.
|
Re: The Saints come Marching in..
Yeah, they have been a bright spot. Hopefully Schweitzer can hold it down while Scherff is out.
|
Re: The Saints come Marching in..
Blast from the past: Per JP and Mitch, Bubba Tyer seems to be helping out the team while Vermillion is out:

Turner did a good job sunday.. Other than that bad 4th down call, the rest was good.

I think having Samuel back made a big difference. With Logan out, I expect to see more sets with Terry, Samuel, McKissic, and Gibson. |

Re: The Saints come Marching in..
I'm not really scared of Winston. If we can neutralize the middle of the field...more blitz packages maybe, and flush him...he will be neutralized. What scares me is them bringing in taysom hill, and him looking like a hall of famer running out of the pocket.

If this defense continues playing like they have been everyone in the other uniform scares me. Literally every offensive player on the other team. Not even kidding. That is how bad they are right now. |

I tell you, we have been lucky with injuries up until last week. That list as well as losing 2 pivotal guys on offense for a couple weeks really hurts. When it rains it pours |

Considering Herbert, Jones, Allen and Ryan all played pretty well against this D, we should probably have some healthy respect for Winston. When he's on he can sling it. |
