Re: Bucs beat down postgame
Dax Milne is a 7th rd rookie and the ball was punched out by a linebacker who made a play, so I am not going to sour on him too much. Hopefully he learns from it.
As for J. Allen, he should be a pro bowler but I wont bet my house on it happening, lets face it those accolades go to players from winning teams. It is difficult to dislodge the established stars from the All Pro voting process unless you are on a playoff team |
I would definitely shop CY in the off season, even if we got a few draft picks for him that be great. He is not dominating at all and there are still that value him high.
I bet he ends up being a dud.
Thats ridiculous, you can't give up on a guy who is that young and has that much talent. Hopefully both he and the coaches will re-evaluate his approach to the game in the offseason and some maturation follows. |

Even if he was productive i rather 3 solid starters then a even say pro bowler level cy. Unless CY was a QB he can't make that large of a difference on a team with many holes. At this point its 50/50 CY becomes a elite player in the NFL and he just tore his ACL. Let someone else take the gamble on him and collect some draft picks to help us in other places. |
Re: Bucs beat down postgame
Just heard that drive at the end of the game was the longest drive of the year by any team.
|
Re: Bucs beat down postgame
Mooby hit all the points, I also want to point out that Slye had a good productive game too. It would be nice if Slye ends up becoming our kicker for next few years.
Bates played well too, minus the fumble that was called back. Did Bates replace RSJ? It seems like RSJ wasn't on the field anymore after Bates started playing. |
Re: Bucs beat down postgame
That was an amazing drive with some clutch throws by 4, some days that dude looks like Romo out there I swear..
Also no you can't give up on CY yet, is he a generational can't miss guy? No but even if he's a Clowney type, that is still very good to have around. |

This staff does not have much invested in him other than coaching - so if he makes mistakes at critical moments he won't get many more opportunities to prove his worth. He's not CY99 - obviously we need to ride that pony out, esp. now that he's injured. If we sold on him now we'd be selling on the low. |

Great win, let's keep it going

Grant Paulsen tweeted that the "legendary" WFT drive that clinched the win spanned 10 minutes and 29 seconds, and was the longest fourth-quarter TD drive by any NFL team in 20 years. I don't know where he found that stat, but damn... |

That drive was made possible by some really good tough catches. Bates, Humphries and TMac, made some incredible catches that contributed to that nail in the coffin TD. |

ha! The snap 2.0 |
Re: Bucs beat down postgame
Fun game to watch. Kinda like the Packs game but we didnt self implode.
Aside from that Mike Evans long TD, seems like the Bucs kept everything near the LOS. Tough running, good play calling, O line contd to be resilient. Larsen - replacing Roulier and havent really noticed him out there which is a good thing. Thought Schweitzer played better than Scherff. Heinike actually threw a couple of balls in anticipation before the WR broke on their route. Nice to see some improvement coming after the bye. Fun game to watch. Hell, my 9 year old actually watched the second half. |

Looking at the snap count for defense - it's amazing how little snaps you play on D when you manage to create turnovers and get off the field on third down. Two weeks ago if you said Jamin Davis only played 27 snaps we'd be thinking "why was he only on the field for between 25-35% of the snaps?" But in reality 27 snaps this week was 56% of our total defensive snaps - which was 48. Really makes a difference when the D isn't on the field for 70-80 snaps every week. |
Re: Bucs beat down postgame
Can they do it 2 weeks in a row? If you can beat the Bucs you can beat the Panthers.
Really hope this is the start of a run and not a 1 game flash in the pan. Yesterday was a really enjoyable game. They looked like what a good team looks like. Beat the Bucs in all 3 phases. Good times. |

Awesome win! But now I am really feeling bad about comparing Chase Young to RGIII last week...wouldn't wish that injury on anyone and certainly not one of our players. If we see "All in for week one" commercials in the offseason again with Chase then we'll know we're really in trouble. |

Re: Bucs beat down postgame
To me Tampa just looked flat and disinterested. Also I thought Brady played terrible. All he did all day was throw to Fournette. It seemed like once Allen got a good hit on him on that first drive he just checked out.

Re: Bucs beat down postgame
Although the numbers don't show it, I think the running game played a big role in the win.
To me, it seems that Gibson is healthier and ran much better against a concrete wall of a running defense. His two TDs in the red zone is the type of running game we've been missing this whole season. Moving forward, I think that having this type of running game will be helpful for TH. I just hope Gibson's health holds up through the rest of the season. Bonus: it was nice seeing Gibson getting more involved in the passing game as well. |

Definitely not an easy game but if we play and coach like we did yesterday it’s winnable for sure. |
Re: Bucs beat down postgame
Team isnt used to playing with a lead but they played well with it. Especially of course the icer of a 10 plus min drive to kill the game.
Even before the final drive, seemed like we put ourselves in 3rd and short a bunch of times and were able to fall forward and convert. Skins 3rd down conv -- 11/19 4th down - 2/2 Bucs 3rd down 4/10 Skins 71 plays Bucs 47 We had 0 sacks? Bucs had 5 for 30 yards lost Skins avg 2.8 yds per carry, 94 yds on 34 carries TOP Skins 39 mins, bucs 20 |
Re: Bucs beat down postgame
One of the most complete games I have seen the team play in years. We played like a team coming of the bi ready to play. The Bucs were the team looking rusty coming off the bi.
|
Re: Bucs beat down postgame
I only got the highlights on Redzone over here, but seemed to me there was a sense of belief in their play across the board. Heinicke seemed to be more in command than the previous games this season, even the Atlanta game where he played well. Seems like RR either gave him a confidence boost or a kick in the ass. Whatever he did, lets hope it sticks.
Realistically I can see 9-7 as a possible end of season picture (probably not enough for playoffs this year), IF it sticks. Just hoping it wasn't a flash in the pan and we crash against the Panthers. |

Gibson looked healthy in the game yesterday, he ran hard and often push defenders forward when being tackled. Of course this had to happen when I started McKissic over Gibson in my FFL |

Of course this had to happen when I started McKissic over Gibson in my FFL
I did the same thing, switched them last minute on a hunch that we'd be playing from behind and McKissic might rack up some garbage time catches and yards. |
Re: Bucs beat down postgame
And I started Brady in my FF league (I figured I would get something out of yesterday). So I am happy that I ended up with a not so good week (I also started Fournette which helped).

Re: Bucs beat down postgame
Every starter on the Line has a grade over 75 yesterday and that unit has been damn good all season John Matsko deserves major props
Wes Schweitzer - 91 Grade was the team high. |

Let Scherff go and resign Schweitzer in the offseason
Should have let him go this offseason. Saved 18m Gotten a 3rd rounder (pending an offset by jackson/smauels/fitz) Franchise tagging a fucking G is the most ass backwards thing to do. To do it twice? For an oft injured guy whose maybe top 10 but not top 5 at G? |
Re: Bucs beat down postgame
The thing w/ Scherff I don't get. When healthy he is one of the top players at his position. Why wouldn't you pay him if you aren't paying a QB? At some positions you have to over pay, he is one of them but so be it.
Schweitzer deserves to be a starter. Put both of them at guard as your starters. I would want as many good o-linemen as possible because you are not going to keep all 5 healthy. |
