More head scratching moves and bad draft picks than good so far. Hopefully that changes in year 3.

Re: Week 10 Gameday Thread- Lions @Commaanders

One thing that is so puzzling is why do they continue to let WR's off the line to get easy, uncontested catches? Vilma was calling it out about how the Lions were just playing pitch and catch. It's the same shit week after week.

These guys lack talent, coaching, discipline and motivation. If Whitt is teaching that then why is he an NFL coordinator? I'd rather send blitzes, knock the shit out of Goff and play more aggressive over letting them do whatever. Go down swinging. This defense really fucking sucks.

You have to be physical enough to play up on the line and as we never do it I can't see if we are capable or not. There's way too much soft zone coverage when it's not called for. Communication is obviously bad because of the number of times I've seen DB's running into each other.

But it's no good telling Whitt to blitz more because all our blitzes are vanilla AF. There is 0 innovation. Nothing tricky that causes an OL to be stretched/out of position.

He's not using players effectively, even the good ones. i.e Magee should have been subbed in for Wagner on passing downs from week 1, Luvu should primarily be a pass rusher, Von Miller probably shouldn't even be on the team, Amos is our best CB and should be shadowing their #1 all game, we should be playing more man coverage and have the S's help instead of being stuck in zone (which they're not great at anyway).

He can't scheme, he can't invent effective blitzes, he can't put his players in position to be good. What can he do?

Success of year 1 is just completely discounted by a roster decimated by injuries in year 2? Ok.

1. The greatest rookie QB season ever
2. New OC scheme that teams weren't ready for
3. Luvu and Chinn were on fire
4. The team over performed big time

what is funny about 4 is that if some of those close games had gone the other way ; our expectations wouldn't be so high this season

agree

but i think we can all agree the drafting has not been out this world to date

outside of JD5, which my mom could ahve made that pick, who is a really good contributor from a AP draft class on our current roster?

#0 stock is way down, so not him

Re: Week 10 Gameday Thread- Lions @Commaanders

Mike S is a good player for the most part but yeah other than those 2 I agree.

This team needs to lose almost every game the rest of the way to secure a top 5 pick

This so funny and sadly true.

I am assuming Jow W worked all last week to gameplan, probably stayed late every night just trying to come up with something. What would have happened in the game Sunday if Whitt had just said fuck it i am going to Disney with the fam , i will be back for the DET game just before kick off, would the score just been 50 something versu 44 , Whitt should just gone to Disney not burnt himself out and wasted Commanders resources at Commanders Park.

We’re not even to the point where the year 1 draft can be properly graded.

but i can also be halfway through a final exam in school that i didn't study for and know i am going to bomb it ; i mean technically it has not been properly graded at that point but the future results are obvious....

It would be more fair to say they aced the first big exam of the semester last season, this year they bombed exam #2 and everyone is ready to drop out of school.

Also fair to say we need 4-5 years of Peters to know what we have for sure.

It was silly to crown him last year and it’s equally silly to think we now need to blow it all up.

Payne has been suspended for 1 game by NFL. If I'm DQ, I would suspend him one more game. We should not tolerate this kind of behavior and it's important for DQ to make sure that everyone on the team understands that.

No excuse for Payne, but is Kinlaw correct in saying Brown struck first? I know they always catch the retaliator (so don't be that guy), but if that happened on camera, Brown needs punishing too.

Now I know how Dallas fans feel every year. Every year they think they are going to the SB and fall flat on their face.

Re: Week 10 Gameday Thread- Lions @Commaanders

Some of the post game stuff had me rolling, like Quan Martin saying not sure why he was penalized when he was the one being dragged to the ground and kicked in the nuts. Which I feel is a perfect metaphor for this season. I'm good with it as long as we get a sideline shot of DQ milking the cow every game. I'll just sit back and enjoy it.

Generally a 30% hit rate is a good draft, meaning they are starters at the very least

Of the 9 picks last year Daniels and Sainistril are hits, Coleman and McCaffery have been contributors, Sinnott and Macgee have started to see more playing time, and the rest are up in the air.

I think another full season is needed to fairly judge this class, but so far is it really that “sus”?

Re: Week 10 Gameday Thread- Lions @Commaanders

According to ESPN Research this is the second time in franchise history that Washington has lost four straight by 20+ points (1954). It's also the most points they've allowed over a four-game stretch since 1954.

Good grief.

Totally disagree w/ that. It's year two and your 2024 drafted players, especially the higher picks need to show something. They SHOULD be showing something.

Sainristil, Newton, Coleman, Luke and Sinnott are basically giving you nothing. That's 5 high draft picks from last year that are not helping your team.

Luke was ok but you can find that guy anywhere. He's just a JAG. Newton? Nothing. Sinnott? Nothing. Coleman? Very little. Sainristil has totally gone in the toilet.

Any reasonable football person will say you have to give a draft 3 years. I’m fine with having a discussion this time next year. You’re certainly going glass half empty right now, things could look a lot different next year.

McCaffery has been great on special teams, Coleman started 12 games as a rookie. Sainistril has been a victim of a bad defensive scheme.

It’s too early to write these guys off.
