Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
For Philly, maybe? But are they better or worse, in your opinion?
Honestly, I think they are going to be about the same. I think they are still a 9-7 ball club. The big question mark for them is can Kolb carry this team, not just win a game here and there. We don't know yet. The other concern, if I'm an Eagle fan, is that opposing coaches are still accumulating film on Kolb and once the sharper DCs catch up with his strengths/weaknesses, how will he adjust. In a nutshell, I don't think this drastically improves or decreases the Eagles fortunes one way or another, but the prospect of seeing Donovan McNabb in burgundy and gold twice a year has to be a bit unsettling for Kolb. |
Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
All right I'm tired of hearing that McNabb had comparable stats when compared to JC. For starters McNabb missed 2.2 games this year. Thats most likely good another 400 yards and 3 or 4 TD's which would have made his stats 3,900 to 4,000 yards and 25 or 26 TD's. He put up comparable stats in 2 less games.
JC may now either be used as a trading chip, or, we have the best depth at the QB position that I can remember. Interesting to see what we do with JC, I mean, its gotta suck to be him.
Well, like I said in my analysis last night, there are no bonuses for the team that can collect the most mid-tier quarterbacks.
We had great QB depth in 2005, 2006, and 2007 as well, although those player pale in comparison to McNabb + Campbell. Now, I don't actually think Campbell will be here in 2010, but there's no incentive to release him if you don't get a trade offer to your liking. The thing is that Campbell clearly has more value than McNabb going forward, that much is certain. But in the absence of sticking with Campbell beyond this year, which it was obvious that no one was planning on, that's not really relevant. |
Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
If Bradford slips, we become a HOT spot for trading down, not such a bad thing. Also, picking up McNabb does another thing, weakens division rival. Don't forget Eagles are 1 snap away from Vick starting...lol

He'll never get injured here. We should already add on two games for the playoff games he'll get us to.

Make no mistake, McNabb is light years ahead of Jason Campbell. Imagine if he had the durability and running game of the Redskins in years past (not this year, obviously) and Santana Moss as his number one instead of James Thrash or Dante Sallworth. |
Dont forget Grossman. SmootSmack didn't
Damn I forgot. We have a full roster of knuckle-headed QBs. |

Never said he wouldn't get injured. However people kept on saying that Campbell put up comparable numbers and thats simply not true. It's like if I had two basketball players and with the same amount of points. One guys averages 25 ppg while the other averages around 17 ppg. Basically McNabb is much better on a per game basis. He's certainly a better prospect then Schuab. |
Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
Don't underestimate the part where the Redskins might be stuck with McNabb beyond this year because they don't have the ammo to draft a quarterback in the first three rounds anymore.
Maybe if they can orchestrate a trade down...but there's no way I'd give up a shot at Okung, even to satisfy my Colt McCoy man-crush. |
