Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
Its the 5th round, we are getting some depth baby. Doughty is a free agent so DeJon Gomes will come in and be the back up SS. Now we have Atogwe and Landry as starters with Moore and Gomes as the backups. Another position settled.
Barnes, Atogwe, Landry, Hall - starting secondary Orakpo, Fletcher, Riley, Kerrigan - starting Linebackers Carriker, Bryant (Powe should be our next pick if available), Jenkins - starting defensive linemen Hopefully we can resign Buchannon as our 3rd CB. Or use a pick to draft a prospect with a late pick. Gotta think positive guys. |

I was hoping he was going to be good. I think they like Bryant at the NT position more than you realize. |

Dem corn fed farm boys. Flip over tractor tires taller than you and sling a bail of hay like it was a rag doll. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
While Gomes only had two years to prove his worth to NFL scouts while at Nebraska after transferring from Junior College, he wasted little time in becoming a fringe prospect and gained a reputation as a hard-hitter, a ball hawk, and an overall big play machine. He's got the size, strength, and coverage skills to play any position in the defensive backfield and even lined up as a linebacker at Nebraska when the situation called for it, so his versatility is a big plus, but most scouts project him as a strong-safety in the NFL.
So on paper, you've got a good looking player who can line up at multiple positions and has a great physical makeup. What's the downside in picking him? I think that the versatility that defines his game also hurts him. Teams can make him into whatever they want him to be, but at the same time, he's not a perfect fit for any position which hurts his status in the eyes of a lot of teams. |

Yeah - somewhat surprising. Tells you a lot about what Shanny thinks about this year's QB class. Or it might say something about what he might do in free agency. |
Well, I'd break that down in 12 parts and since some of them dont make picks for the Rdeskins any more, I'm going to remain optomistic.
Yeah, I like to give the FO the benifit of the doubt. They know a lot more then we do. But with each different regime we always seem to struggle after the third round. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
So any takers? What random position will we draft next?
