Why can't skins fans want to cultivate their own superstar? It seems that they always want someone elses reject. Manning is a reject at this point.
It doesn't matter if he's a reject or not. Being a reject does not mean he cannot play football; just a potential indicator that might not always be right.

And wanting the best is more important than a moral victory in which a QB flops, but hell we tried to "develop them" (see Ramsey and Campbell).
It's incredible ..

The redskins may have a chance at signing one of the best QBs of all time and whom can still play at a playoff caliber level I'm assuming and we as fans say No to him??? It's Peyton Freaking Manning! This isn't Mcnabb or Brunell or Johnson its Manning. He comes to DC and we are a contender in the east day 1
I don't think people are saying no cuz it's Manning, I think its because he's old and although not injury prone, when he does get injured, they're pretty bad.

I'd definitely like to see Manning here because the guy is a proven winner but I'm also torn because I'm ready for a franchise youth movement.

But Manning can only help us, not hurt us.
Ok point taken on Montana. However there are other players who have gotten the same surgery and continued playing. The QB position is one of the most protected positions. And I'll repeat if the doctors thought there was any danger he would not be talked about right now cause it would read PM forced to retire.

I understand the nerve and bis arm issue, also know his doctors have said it could take weeks or months before progress is seen but when it starts it could heal fast ss in most cases and we know his has started or he would most likely not be throwing so well.

I'm confused how PM hinders this team from filling other holes? All this would do is assure us Grossman would not be coming back. Unless you guys want Grossman back? No matter what they do in the draft MS and KS will have a Vet QB on this team and I'd prefer it be PM with all his knowledge vs. the others.
Lumbar fusion is allot harder to recover from than the neck fusion. Because the neck does not carry the wieght that the lumbar does. Infact lumbar fusions have a much smaller success rate.

It can hurt us. If we go all in for winning now and stop really building our team we might have a successful year or two, but where would it put us in 5 years.

why not PM and Tannehill at 6? or trade down and add more talent for Manning

I never said we should stop building the team nor, if we got Manning, should we just built the team solely around him. There's obviously glaring issues that need to be addressed with or without Manning. But I'd hope if we did sign him, we'd still draft a QB of whom Manning could take under his wing and mentor the last 2-3 years of his career.

So when Manning did retire, the new young QB can step in, i.e. Favre and Rogers, or Brady and whoever was the 1st string at the time. lol

same can be said if we trade for RG3 and he is bust or gets injured.

That's what I'm saying. I think that would be ideal in the instance of a Manning signing.

Peyton Manning reportedly according to John Keim on Twitter, has just landed in the airport at Miami...

that is debatable.

Ramsey had very little backing from Gibbs. Campbell had a different OC every year, and didn't stand a chance when Shanny got here. Not saying either would have been elite QB's, but they never stood a chance.

LOL

Well he has a condo down there so let's not get carried away. He's probably just visiting his home away from home
I read somewhere that the 49ers have said they are not interested in PM.
Certain teams will be very discreet in talking to Manning's agent. The good teams with a decent Qb in place but not yet signed like SF with Smith will be very discreet so as to not to upset any negotiations with Smith. But Smith is not Manning.
I am sure several surprise teams will call to see what the asking price is for Manning even if they are not 100% committed to getting him. Nothing wrong with exploring all possibilities to improve your team.
