You sure Charlotte is "tiny?"
It is compared to DC. And especially Atlanta, as we are one of the Big 3 for corporate headquarters (New York, Dallas, ATL) WHAT UP?!!?! :D See people think the Cowboys/Redskins rivalry is about football and that it started from a song. No sir, it's about corporations getting riled up about big government and vice versa. |
RG3 is going to have a media circus...if a tiny market like Charlotte can create a giant media storm around Cam Newton, just wait until the nation's capital has a QB just as talented, if not more talented. DC has been starving for a QB like Griffin.
The Peyton Manning visiting tour apparently is headed to Tennessee according to Michael Lombardi (through Twitter).

Charlotte is bigger than DC.
Everything is bigger than DC. The real question is how do the surrounding areas stack up for the respective cities? When you throw in Montgomery County-Maryland, Prince George’s County-Maryland, Fairfax County-Virginia, Arlington County-Virginia, and Loudoun County-Virginia. Montgomery and PG County combined have a greater population then Charlotte as does Fairfax County alone. It's not the city itself, it's the surrounding area. Granted no one should have said Charlotte is small, but by the same token it's not bigger then DC as a whole. Lol, if he signs there, it means that he's still gonna traumatize Jacksonville and Houston...and he gets to face Luck for the rest of his time there. |

The QB of the Redskins is always a big headline-grabber, even with bad and mediocre QBs. Look how much attention McNabb drew from the national media when he came to town. It's going be that times infinity when RG3 suits up. |

There were reports out there that say he won't be making a decision on Tuesday. |

Peyton to meet with Titants HC Munchak and Dolphins HC Philbin.

I haven't seen any of those yet, probably because Fox Sports is the only unblocked NFL related site at work and I can't even load it on my computer due to how outdated my computer is. This is pretty much my go-to place for news when I'm at work lol. |

You are misinformed. The Hornets didn't move away because it was a small market. It was due to the fact that George Shinn wanted a brand new stadium after about 6 years into the league and the Charlotte taxpayers weren't going to foot the bill. He became despised (and still is) that people stopped going to the games just to spite him (including playoff games). Before that time, the Hornets were among the league leaders in attendance. The only reason nobody cared about the Panthers is because it was a expansion team. Hell, Los Angeles can't even gather more interest in a NFL team than the Panthers can. |

Then you'll have to take my word for it when I say that the 49ers cut Patrick Willis and we signed him to a vet min contract. |
Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
i guess peyton figured out the cards couldn't pay him AND have a good team... I imagine he'll look at the 49ers too if they can't work out a deal with smith. SF is really the place to be.

Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
It'd be funny to see Manning wearing the black and silver.
I'm sure Buffalo and Minnesota are out of the question. |

Manning will go to Denver And tebow to Jax

For a team that has been a perennial loser over the past 15-20 years, we probably garner as much national attention as any team in the NFL. In part, because of the team's rich legacy and also due to Dan Snyder's splurging during free agency. |

By the way, think I got my info mixed up. He's meeting the Titans in Houston. Not the Texans

Probably the best thing for that franchise but Gene Smith (Jags GM) apparently hates the idea of Tebow being his QB more then Elway. |

Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
Manning not thrilled with Miami...
Chris Wesseling @ChrisWesseling NFLN's @JeffDarlington reported earlier Manning was "underwhelmed with the structure in place" with the Dolphins. |
Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
That shouldn't surprise anyone.
|
Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
I think the reason Manning doesn't want to go to miami is cause he doesn't want to hear Brandon Marshall shouting in his ear to throw him the ball every other play.

Still can't believe it might be Denver
As for Miami, here's something I told the mods last week "Have heard Manning is using Miami and isn't serious about playing there" |
Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
Interesting, TBH besides the weather Denver truly does give him a good chance to win quickly and ride off into the Sunset with another ring.

Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
I tend to think Manning should bide his time a bit here, maybe even put the "tour" on hold and go back to rehabing/training for upcoming workouts. What if the Niners and Smith struggle to find common ground? What if the Texans decide they want to seriously pursue the Lombardi? Those two teams are instant contenders with a healthy Peyton. Denver? I dunno...

As for Miami, here's something I told the mods last week "Have heard Manning is using Miami and isn't serious about playing there"
I doubt it. Seems more like a courtesy then anything else. If Manning really wanted to use Miami he would sell it like a play action fake and actually visit the team instead of having them come to him in Indy. I mean this is Peyton Manning we're talking about, he can practically name his own price. |

I mean this is Peyton Manning we're talking about, he can practically name his own price.
Although I am sure that having a team come with the idea that they will do "whatever it takes" to get Manning will help in the negotiations. I am sure Manning can name his price, but he probably would just say, well Miami is offering this... Still the more I think about it, the more that I feel Miami is not the place that is perfect for Manning. I am sure the league would love to see Manning vs. Brady twice a year. But I am thinking that Manning may look for the most convenient route to the playoffs, and that may be either Denver or Zona. |
Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
Denver has a pretty good O line, probably the best of all the teams contending for him.
