Re: Will Andre Carter Be A Bust??
That doesn't make any sense. Springs coming back has no impact on Carter being able to "get his chances" to hurry the quarterback. Springs' injury only negates our ability to blitz.
Carter has an opportunity to "pin his ears back" on every play right now.
Springs will be another threat that teams will have to adjust pass blocking schemes for. Don't forget, Shawn led our team in sacks 2 years ago. |

Right. And that sure tells you someting about the defensive ends we've had, doesn't it? Three seasons later, nothing's changed. |
Rexi,
Why do you come here just talk trash about Carter and Lloyd? I don't go to Chiefs' sites to complain about Rod Gardner, etc. Your comments are always welcome and I don't mean to be a jerk, but you sound really, really unnaturally bitter about Lloyd and Carter.
I summoned him to this thread, blame me sheriff |
Re: Will Andre Carter Be A Bust??
I thought AC played very well today. I think he had 1 sack maybe 1.5 and a ton of pressures on the QB.

Re: Will Andre Carter Be A Bust??
I think if we had 2 bulldozing DT's and a secondary that could cover Carter would have astronomical numbers. We have to draft cover corners, and run stuffing DT's. .
We got good DT pressure that werent moved out of the way and AC has more production. Just as I stated, cuz Im high on the Gospel of Gibbs. Testify and f***** Hail |
Re: Will Andre Carter Be A Bust??
Finally, some pressure. Carter and Daniels -- 4 games, 2 sacks.
Yee ha. |
Re: Will Andre Carter Be A Bust??
carter played pretty damn well tonight. hail!

I disagree, I have yet to see something great from him. His sack developed, and mainly bc Leftwich held it too long... I want to see some moves, or power sacks. He still looks a bit slow. |

he had his 1st sack but i agree hoo. Although i saw good pursuit down the line from him, you are right, still not impressed here! I would give him his first PASSING grade! |

the coverage down the line was something we missed, hes got speed. baby steps...baby steps... |

Carter has an opportunity to "pin his ears back" on every play right now.
Having Springs back will have an impact on the d-line. Springs is our best cover corner, and the longer he can stick with a wide receiver and shut them down, the longer time our d-line has to get to the quarterback. |

Baby steps is something you'd expect from a rookie right out of college -- not from a 4-year vet. This team's M.O. is to forego the draft, get experienced veterans through free agency, and avoid the rookie adjustment time. And hooskins, you're exactly right. It was a coverage sack more than anything else. Watch Seahawks vs. Bears right now for an example of how to pressure the QB. The Chicago Bears are no joke, folks. |

Again, in the scenario you wrote, that's called a coverage sack. And here's the thing, no team's pass rush should have to rely so much on a corner. That proves there's a problem with the front four getting to the quarterback. Because Springs is out makes it more important to get to the quarterback quickly. Up until this game, Carter hasn't been able to consistently provide that. |
Re: Will Andre Carter Be A Bust??
Well, I'm on a lot of team's boards not just the Niner one and this one. Carter I really never had a problem with besides his poor play because he never insulted the organization or any of his teammates. Lloyd however was a locker room headache and I just really hate how the guy plays, afraid of contact. Derek Smith, who is currently a 49er is starting to irk me the same way. This season, he's just not getting after it. He's getting dragged by ball carrier and is just not being a factor. I hope he loses his starting job soon and is just a rotational player.
You won't be on many boards this week... Ha ha ha ha You should trade your team with the USC trojans, at least you would have some upside. The niners are humiliating. Where is your boy, Bryant? I guess you can't make big catches on a big drive when you have a goosegg, can you? |
Re: Will Andre Carter Be A Bust??
4% body fat = dead. just thought it's worth mentioning.
I'm glad that wasn't your 10,000th guy, you're just wrong. Humans have body fat for one reason, to survive through famine. I don't think Carter has to worry about that. I have recently gone from around 20% to 12% and have felt great benefits even in brain function. Talk about brain function, How could you side with niner's fans. Do they even know what they're doing with their players? Part of the benefit of having a great coaching staff is the advantage in player development whether you got them by way of draft OR free agency. Carter had a beastly year with the niners and faded, obviously he has potential. Gregg Williams is a proven defensive coordinator, head coach material, and he sees something in him others have failed to realize. Saunders is one of the best reciever coaches in all of football, it seems like an easy call to make after this game but look for the best corps in the league to have a big year. Superior coaching, that was my point heheheheeee I'm shitfaced, hail |
