Re: Super Bowl XLIV
The only thing I am worried about is the officiating. Last few SB's have had too many yellow flags that killed off momentum of the eventual loser. Let the players play the game, unless it is really flagrant, backoff from the nit picky holding calls.

I am worried about it as well, I'm sure they will call anything around Peyton after Favre last week and Grilliams words this week. I really hope they let these guys play and not a flag fest. |
Re: Super Bowl XLIV
Super Bowl thoughts:
Both Teams deserve to be here; there were numerous times this year when I'd see Saint's or Colts games and say "The ____ are the best team in the NFL". Even though the saints should have lost to the vikings, they still deserve to be there. I will say though to remember this: The last time the Colts and Saint's played, the Colts won 41-10. Sure the Saints didn't have Darren Sharper and the Colts had a healthy Dwight Freeney, and the Saints corners were not that great, but still, 41-10. That said who do I want to win this game....I honeslty don't care, they're both deserving, and if New Orleans wins they get their first ever. If Indy wins it pretty much secures Peyton as maybe the Best ever, and makes him 1 ring behind Brady. Who do I think will win...Colts 38 New Orleans 28 |
Re: Super Bowl XLIV
I'll honestly be happy with either team winning. I'd love to see Manning win another and obviously New Orleans is a great story for many reasons. I'll probably find myself rooting for whoever has the ball. I just have a feeling about the Saints though.

Re: Super Bowl XLIV
Jim Sorgi already has his ring, it's time for Brunell to get one. Plus it would be kind of cool to see Lombardi's grandson (Joe-Saints QB coach) hoisting the Lombardi
But I think I'm going to be rooting for the Colts. I see a Peyton led 4th Qtr comeback and Indy wins 27-21 Chargers fans must be just thrilled by the way, Eli wins a Super Bowl and now Brees is now one game away |
Re: Super Bowl XLIV
Payton = Poetry in motion.
However I'm rooting for the underdog. Saints haven't won a SB. Lastly although I think Payton is an awsome QB I can't stand all the man crush for him and his family from the media. It reminds me of all the Dallas media crush. :vomit: GO SAINTS |
If you decide to come to N.O. PM me, I'll give you some pointers on where the best places to go SB Sunday.
The regulars that I tailgate with here, (New Orleans), are having a SB party at a downtown Bar-Restaurant we rented out. $25 a person, 150 people max. Kegs of Abita amber, and Coors light, plenty of food, and wine included. Cash bar for liquor. Party starts at noon, and the bar is located along the Mardi Gras parade route downtown. Parade stand tickets are included in the $25, and the stands are located out front of the establishment. There are 2 parades rolling Sunday starting at noon. If the Saints win, which I believe they will by more than a touchdown, We will all probably start our own impromptu second line parade to the French Quarter!! Geaux Saints!!!!
great minds think alike |

Well Brunell has been a well respected QB with a strong career for the past 15years...but really I was just trying to make a joke. Which apparently didn't go over well, I thought the Jim Sorgi has a ring set up was the give away. |

yeah i got you, i just heard a bunch of people calling in saying they would like to see brunell get a ring on the radio today and really didn't understand why anybody would think that. i can somewhat understand the people that say they want to see gregg williams get a ring, but i could honestly care less, he was a good guy here, but he isn't in the burgundy and gold anymore so... if it was a life long redskin who never got a ring who was coaching, like chris samuels may be doing in the next few years then i could get behind the whole "i'd like to see him get a ring" bandwagon |
Re: Super Bowl XLIV
Super Bowl fact of day: The Bucs have the record for most defensive TDs scored in a super bowl (3). That is more defensive TDs than the Redskins have scored in the last four seasons. Combined.
Just out of curiosity, can anyone name the last 5 Redskins defenders to score? If you have to look it up, I won't blame you. HINT #1: Two of the five are still Redskins. HINT #2: Three of the five were not defensive backs. |
Re: Super Bowl XLIV
Brunell had PLENTY of opportunities to get a ring, u know, when he was a STARTER. In both Jacksonville AND with the Redskins. Who cares if he gets one now? Both teams are deserving but Peyton is the man. I agree there is a man crush out there on him, but he ACTUALLY deserves it. Dallas NEVER did.
