He's started 12 games in the NFL. You must be counting his College career.
Let's be fair, didn't he only start for one season in college before declaring? The kid is as green as it gets. I tend to agree with the coaches when they say Haskins should be a 5th year senior in college right now because of how little PT he's had.
Im counting that he has had two years to “learn” not sulk on social media. You do not have to start to learn. His footwork is still nonsense. His decision making is still nonsense. His seeing the field is still nonsense. Do you really think he is our quarterback of the future? Would you not change that pick right now if given the choice to do so?
I don't know, maybe.
Chief I disagree on the first INT, it was deep into territory with two defenders, and it never should've been thrown. It's what happens when you get frustrated and you try to make a play because you're not willing to take what the defense gives you.

The other beef that I have with Haskins is his progressions, it looks like he only scans half the field on some plays before he dumps it. There was a play in particular where Haskins had a guy running open down the seam but he never even looked in his direction before checking down. Is he being coached to only scan half the field to get the ball out quicker?
I did see some of the game on red zone and there was more than one play where he never even looked left. He had McClaurin in one on one coverage at one point, and he never even looked his way. Just panicked (without pressure really) and checked down. I cannot even believe that DH is being given a pass for his play here. The guy is a fuckin bust. If Alex is healthy he starts. Next year we need a new quarterback.

Two receivers, two defenders. Not triple coverage, and not a terrible throw on the run. A great interception though.

He does need to work on his progressions...again, 12 NFL starts...
I'm not on any train, but the offense looked better yesterday than it has in the last four wins.
It took almost three quarters to look that way and Seattle had a putrid pass D. Putrid. I wish I could get excited about a potential cure to our quarterback issues but I cannot. And if Dwayne starts next week it will not take long to cement my doubt.

I'm not giving him a "pass". He started, threw two INTs, and lost the game by 5 points to the NFC West division leader. As the QB, he gets the L.

The NFC West leader that Colt McCoy managed to win a game against. I know it is a team game but our D held Russ in check pretty well. Yes Hopkins is an ass. That being said if Alex starts that game yesterday we score at least 6 more points during those two drives. Alex will start next week, and we will probably sign or draft someone to take over next year. Sadly Dwayne will not be able to prove anything to anyone in Washington and I am not at all concerned we are not giving him a fair shake. Dude has problems that go far beyond experience. Seeing the field, making ass decisions, bad footwork. These are signs of a bust. Ill eat the biggest crow ever if he winds up being the guy though....

You must have forgotten all the short fields Alex Smith has benefited from the last four games. Haskins wasn't the beneficiary of that. He actually drove the offense down the field...

It's easy to get better in pass D when you don't have to worry about a running game.

He's played in 44 games over 10 years in the NFL. Hard to compare him to Haskins at this point...

The offense may have played their best in the last 5 games (to be fair they didn't do shit until down 3 scores) but the Seahawks defense is the worst unit of the 5 that we played during this 4-1 run.

We will see Chief. We will see. I still want Alex starting this year and I want neither of them starting next year. Lol.

I wonder if Haskins shouldn't start these last two games. Think of the confidence boost for the whole organization if he wins both and if he loses both then you know you have to move on. Couldn't ask for a better test than 2 winnable games with the division title on the line to see what your team has.

Yeah I feel like there is still this belief out there that the legion of boom and the awesome Seattle defense is still around because of their record. Their defense is a train wreck. A fiery train wreck. Taking almost three quarters to get going is a direct result of DH not being ready to go. If he saw the field correctly we would have won that game. If he didn’t panic for no reason we would have won that game. If he knew when to run we would have won that game. I feel like im beating a dead horse but he is not a project anymore imo. He is a bust. It sucks because we really do not need a stud at quarterback to be a seriously dangerous team. I give a lot of props to RR man. Dude still has some coaching prowess up his sleeve.

Their defense was a train wreck, for the first half of the season or so. The last 5 games they've tightened up.

That is the conundrum. There is a playoff birth well within our reach. This isn’t a time to see what we have. We know what we have in AS. A quarterback who finds ways to win not lose. The only thing Haskins has that Smith doesn’t is a strong arm but if you cannot read the field or throw off your feet correctly than what good is a strong arm. If the season were over than start DH. It is not so you have to go with the guy who gives you the best chance to win. It is Alex.
