Fine. If you guys don't want to know the truth about the best conference in sports I won't be able to get through to you. I'll stop now. |

The SEC blows chunks. More talk about the SEC and I will break out the haikus. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
Eagles outsmarted us. Turned the McNabb pick into even more picks.

Well, you are about to get scared. I trained in knife wielding from Cam Newton.
Can't....resist.....must...not...tempt.....murderous rage...of Skinzwin.
Love you! :) |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
Saw Helu play quite a bit at NEB. Solid player not a star RB so I'm a bit surprised

Yeah Smoot. I'm looking forward to those introductary press conferences from Quinn, Ponder, Hudson, and Mallet. |

We should trade McNabb to the Eagles for a second and a fourth. |

There goes Salas whom we're supposedly high on..

Yes. Certified check or money order. |

Sorry, somewhere between the "Trade Matt Ryan for Cam Newton" talk on the radio as well as the "look at our X conference players talk" I lost it. So if Lotus wants to bust out the 575 I'll understand. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
Saw Helu live in Blacksburg. He tore it up that game against a pretty good D especially in BBurg. From what i've seen he's a downfield runner which fits a Shanny RB. I like it.

Check made out to Cecil Newton. Cam knows nothing about it. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
NFL.com take on Helu
Pick Analysis: Mike Shanahan picks up one of the top "one-cut" runners in the draft. He excels at running downhill between the tackles and has the size to become a punishing runner as a pro. Throw in his solid receiving skills, and he is the versatile feature runner that Shanahan loves to build around. |

No, I just don't feel like figuring out where you live. Lazy saturday today.
Check made out to Cecil Newton. Cam knows nothing about it.
LOL |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
What are you talking about? I only saw one play in that whole video where he was caught from behind. 90% of the tackles were made from defenders coming in laterally. I like him. He looks like he has good vision and can burst through the line quickly and make people miss at the second level.
I'll admit that my post my be a bit of an over reaction. I still don't like the kid better than Kendall Hunter, and I don't like the trade down for him at all. But, I am familiar with his game,as I bet many Nebraska games over the years. His best asset is his toughness, he has a lot of heart and you see it in his play. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
Cowgiirls trying to sure up their OL.
|
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
One of my buddies is a big Nebraska fan, he just texted me and said Helu is a perfect Shanahan zone scheme back.
|
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
BTW why didn't anyone tell me that Marcus Canon was quick? When you recommend a 358 pound tackle for a Shanahan coached team that is key information. Though he'll probably go undrafted. 3 months worth of treatment in store for him meaning he won't be ready until July....on second thought certainly worth a shot.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
Niners got Kendall Hunter.

Hunter went to 49ers. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
Salas and Hunter now off the board. Not that we needed to draft another receiver and RB, at least at this point.
|
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
What im reading Helu:
positives: fast to the edge, cut and go between tackles, fast to the hole, overall decent speed negatives: puts the ball on the ground and poor pass catcher out the backfield In the fourth, not a bad pick. Shanny got a good history wit RBs
The cut and go is what Shanny likes, I guess. I can't get excited about this pick but I hope Helu does well with the Skins, of course. |

They needed to so their picks make me sad. I wish they had chosen all WR's. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
Vinny take note. If you want to hedge your bets at receiver do it in the 3rd and 4th round like the Rams, not with three 2nd round picks. Nice draft getting a pass rusher to help replicate that Giants front 4 while getting help for Sam Bradford.

I was hoping they picked another Texas A&M QB to succeed Tony Romo. |

Reports are indicating they are planning to transition this newest drafted OL to the WR position to replace Roy Williams. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
Hooray we get to face Casey Matthews twice a year.
|
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
Helu's largest potential contribution to us is probably trade bait in the future.
|

There goes Matthews the younger.

Well if it's a report then it must be true. If you had written that though as a facebook post or a tweet then I wouldn't have been able to believe you. A report though has me convinced 100% |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
I was really hoping we would draft Casey Matthews.

From the McNabb pick none the less. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
Well there goes Casey Matthews, another guy I wanted...
Just remember this moment right here Skins fans if we Matthews or Hunter or David Arkin or Greg Salas have good success in the NFL, remember that the skins passed them up to get Roy Helu. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
Hunter has durability and ball security problems. I guess thats why we passed on him. Also isn't as fast as Helu.
