Chase Young = defensive ROY

Two consecutive big games by Bostic...maybe the hit which got him ejected and talked to by coaches lit a fire. Bostic has made some big stops on third downs and the int to seal the game against Bittchsburgh |
There is a vet free agent out there that will be available that will be our starter next year ... I LOVE ALEX .. however with his injury ( please don’t tell me it’s not affecting his play) he is a backup .. Haskins needs to put his degree to work cause he can’t play QB at this level.. so we get the vet ( no reaching at number 1 pick for Qb) can’t waste another pick like we did on Haskins..
His degree lol. Any word of Smith? I heard the press conference from yesterday but it was just coach speak. |
Re: SF Postgame
Read this little blurb on nfl.com
Young is one of three rookies since 2000 with 5-plus sacks, 3-plus forced fumbles and a defensive TD in a single season (5.5 sacks, 3 FF, 1 defensive TD) -- others: WAS Ryan Kerrigan (2011) and NO Charles Grant (2002). |

What adversity? He's supposed to be learning and practicing to become an NFL QB. What he has is a rare opportunity but he wants it to be handed to him instead. Dwayne has all the physical tools to be a starting QB in the NFL. What he lacks is the maturity, self-awareness, empathy and work ethic to succeed. If he doesn't see the light, these character flaws will derail his NFL career.
He seems humbled, so maybe that's a start. |

No question. I liked Gibson for offense too if he were able to finish the season strong, but he's got to get back on the field. If not, it's likely J Jefferson. |
Re: SF Postgame
Hard to believe we knocked off the mighty 49ers, listening to the pre game hype all week you would have thought they were undefeated or something. If we had any hint of an offense that game would have been a complete blowout. My brother is a 49ers fan and I offered him a friendly $20 straight up wager before the game and he flat out refused lol.

Kyle Shanny embodies the complete arrogance of the organization The broadcasters as well as fox team kept this constant excuse making “49ers are the most banged up team” or “the injuries continue to mount” Fuck off.....no mention out Starting QB Kyle Allen out for the year and Gibson our starting RB out for multiple games. I still can't believe we won with that offense yesterday.. It was the worst we have seen in a long time lol.. But a Win is a win and I'll gladly take it |
Re: SF Postgame
I don't think enough can be said of that defensive performance. Might be as dominant as we've seen here since '91.
|
Re: SF Postgame
I say we inquire the colts what would it to get Andrew Luck and bring him out of retirement. JK
By the way, fuck Kyle and Trent!! |
Re: SF Postgame
Yeah the defense played great and all...but we all know the REAL reason they won that game....the white unies ; )

I know this may be blasphemy to some but CY looked like Sean Taylor on that TD yesterday. Imagine how good we would be with a QB1? I love Alex Smith but he is not an NFL Starter anymore.. If we can get a guy like Stafford in the off season we have a legig shot at the NFC in 2021 |

The reason why our defense is dominate is because of the dline...it all starts up front

I think people need to slow their roll on Alex a bit. He's still our best option, if DH has to play next week we're in trouble.
That’s the one weakness on them, except for their LB’s and CB’s which are

We have a decent line - needs help but it is decent. We have some good wr’s. We need Gibson back. Love McKissik and Barber as change of pace guys. Logan Thomas has become a TE 1. We literally need a game manager at quarterback and with that D sky is the limit. I have huge expectations for next year. Huge. As for this year I think if Alex is close to fully healthy he can manage wins against anyone. Like Matty said if DH is our guy next week we are in trouble. Even against that putrid D of Seattle. |
Re: SF Postgame
Did Jordan Reed play yesterday. LOL
|
Re: SF Postgame
Am eager to hear more about Alex. He was bad from the get go yesterday. I don't know if he came into the game hurt or what, but I didn't like seeing that leg wrapped up like that, and then seeing him pacing the sideline by himself. Maybe he was just trying to loosen it up...I don't know.
|
Re: SF Postgame
Healthy Alex with or without Gibson, or DH with Gibson. I think they win with either of those combinations. DH without Gibson probably not.

I dunno but Everett and Curl are the best safety combo we have. Curl coming down and playing the slot in coverage is flexibility we haven’t had at Safety in a long time. Reaves playing over the top has been intriguing. Apke and Collins need to move on |

I think he couldn't get loose from pre-game. It's concerning to me because what if this is a lingering issue? Does it have anything to do with the reconstruction? We're kinda in uncharted territory here. If Haskins has to see any extended PT we're in trouble. Eagles came on strong yesterday and it might come down to week 17 to win the division. |
Re: SF Postgame
Everett has been laying the wood. Kurl has been so good.
|
Re: SF Postgame
if the defense doesnt score twice .. we lose this game. 2 defensive TDs and we had to hang on in the end in a 1 possession game vs a not so great SF team that lost their D nucleus in Fred Warner.
We are taking on more holes than we can patch right now imo. Qb issues, run game limited to predictable outside stretch play calls, zero WR production, 2 games now that McLaurin has been successfully game planned out of it ... |

After all he went through, it's not far fetched to believe that his left leg just isn't cut out for this kind of action, week in and week out anymore. If he can't get loose from pre-game, and he comes out looking like he did from the get go - that's a problem. |
Re: SF Postgame

Not if teams bracket him. Logan Thomas is a decent no. 2 option but outside of that it seems like passing success is based of whether Cam Sims is having an on day or an off day. Bracket McLaurin, spy on McKissic and youve effectively shut this offense down. 193 total offense vs the 9ers 344 yards. If Alex Smith can sit back and hit the open guy accurately every single time, this offense is servicable. Our offense seems to be based on making it 3rd and short every set of downs. if every link in the chain is doing its job, its just good enough. Margin of error is just to small. With an inaccurate Alex and no Gibson and no run game and no big chunk plays ... our D is going to be taxed. |
Re: SF Postgame
They need to bring back AGG this week, he’s been practicing the last 2 weeks. Let’s see what he has to offer, play his ass.

Re: SF Postgame
Man, Haskins throw to a wide open Terry in the middle of the field...that shit was so close to a loss. That’s a terrible miss throw...shit gave me a nightmare last night.
A basic throw almost cost us this season |
Re: SF Postgame
If the 49ers would have won, I can guarantee you Kyle had a game ball for Trent for what he endured in Washington and would have rubbed it in. Too bad.
