Schreff is a better player…no doubt…but I’ll play Schweitzer going forward over paying Schreff 18 mill per plus. I just don’t want to pay a guard that.

WJ3 was only targeted 1 time yesterday, that speaks a lot of Brady's respect for him.

Glad I'm not reading any "no benefit from this win, we need to tank" talks in here.

Sure draft position is nice, but we need to be trending in the right direction, and if the D keeps playing like we all think they should've been and like they did on Sunday, then maybe we are indeed a few pieces away from being relevant.

And what if winning helps you be attractive to high profile FAs, doesn't that counterbalance dropping in the draft ? What if you can attract a franchise QB ... ?

I know it's one game, and the game itself is a proof of how week to week this league, so it may not mean anything, and maybe we're back to rock bottom next week. But if it's a sign of how they'll play the rest of the way, I'll take that over draft position.

Re: Bucs beat down postgame

Yeah, I never understood that talk. I'd much rather them win as many games as possible, and compete until they are mathematically eliminated.

It's going to be tough to keep it going with all these injuries piling up, but that game on Sunday was nice to see. Hopefully they can build on it, and get rolling with some momentum heading into the NFC East portion of the schedule.

Watching them play like that on Sunday trumps any draft order …I believe we can win against Carolina !!

Agree. And I really hope they do, for Ron! He lost to them last time so let’s get this W

You get what you for, Schweitzer is good, but for a few Mil more Scherff is worth it. Now Collins and Jackson, that's a different story.

The Browns just resigned Teller and Bitonio for $14m and $16m respectively, hopefully that helps to calm the market for Scherff

It was a great win but the WFT Social media team is going a bit dramatic lol , it's kinda sad that was our SB...

I thought Ron and the staff deserve some major kudos for having this team ready to rock coming off the bye, and for a couple of decisions they made late in the game, #1 going for it on 4th down with 29 seconds left instead of kicking a FG, and then taking a knee on the conversion to not risk a 2 point run back on a blocked kick.

Also props to Del Rio for orchestrating a defense that was missing two key pieces in Sweat and Young and keeping Brady and the Bucs off kilter all day long.

Yeah, the D played really well on all levels I thought. They were without St-Juste as well.

The story is sus but without any evidence it's just hearsay. Easier just to blame the common denominator.

I was hoping with the major field reconstruction it would be the last we'd hear about terrible injuries happening with our turf, but I guess not.

Extend Wes, draft a guard at some point to be a backup, waive goodbye to Scherff, that would be my play if I was in charge.

Definitely. All of the coaches got the job done the past 2 weeks leading up to the game. Job well done. That was about as clean as a victory as you could hope for. The guys were ready to play and win.

Please do it again this week. We need to stretch at least 2 or 3 wins together.

Your mistake was listening to anything ESPN. That company is strictly for watching games now.

Re: Bucs beat down postgame
then taking a knee on the conversion to not risk a 2 point run back on a blocked kick./QUOTE]

Not saying I wholly disagree with that play, because with 30 seconds left the points were likely to be immaterial. But if you were worried about a blocked kick, especially given Slye seemed to be kicking well, why not just try a normal 2pt attempt pass with the instruction to throw it away if there's nobody open immediately? Someone breaks through the OL you just drop and take the sack/knee anyway, and if you actually get the 2 pts you've got an insurmountable 2 TD lead. Seems a bit un-riverboat like.

MTK 11-16-2021 11:59 AM

Re: Bucs beat down postgame

^ What's the risk/reward there though? You can say just throw it away, but crazy things can happen. Botched snap, immediate pressure, sack/fumble, etc. A 10 point lead with 30 seconds left is already 99.9% insurmountable.

SunnySide 11-16-2021 12:08 PM

Re: Bucs beat down postgame

Bucs only chance was getting 2 pts plus a TD.

Smart move to take it way from them.

Smart move going for it on 4th and goal from the 1, up 4, with 0:29 left as well.

skinsfaninok 11-16-2021 12:14 PM

Re: Bucs beat down postgame

going for it on 4th down was great, it showed the team that Ron is saying "u deserve this game"

Re: Bucs beat down postgame

I thought Scott Turner called a good game too.

Probably the biggest takeaway from Sunday is this team is still playing hard and isn't giving up.

Could end up being a signature type of win if we can keep it going against Carolina.

3 winnable games ahead, win those games and we're perfectly set up for those remaining division games where anything can happen.

yeah if we were to win the next 3 , holy shit this fanbase would go nuts.. I'd love to be 6-6 heading into december

AnonEmouse 11-16-2021 12:30 PM

Re: Bucs beat down postgame

Key is how we play the division. Last week I say we lose to the Cowboys twice, this week I'm not so sure. Which Eagles and Giants teams turn up? They're winnable games now. It's wishful thinking but if we could run the division, it wouldn't just be a matter of hoping for a WC berth. Got to repeat this kind of performance week in, week out now. If we slip back into that losing form again, we're done.

Yall out your collective got damn minds.

Playoffs?

Were tied for 2nd worst in the NFC.

There are 7 teams ahead of us for the 3 WC spots.

At 3-6 we are tied with the Giants and Seahawks who just got Russell Wilson back.

All depends on these next 3 games, have to go 2-1 at the very least. If that happens yeah it's time to talk possible playoffs.

Then 1 fucking fluke win and yall like ... "if you carry the 5 and add a cosign, its mathematically possible that the WFT will make the playoffs"

You have Stockholm Syndrome. Every time yall swear you wont go back to him .. here ya go.

Hes just being nice to you so youll give him some more money and not kick his dead beat ass out the house .... then come next week, BAM hes taking out loans in your name and fucking up your couch.

Yall some desperate housewives in denial right now.

"Maybe hes changed this time .. maybe Taylor can be a QB1 .. did you see our remaining schedule?"

Do you know what other teams see when they see us on the schedule. A big fucking W and it dont stand for Washington.

If they win these next 3 anything is possible. It's a big if for sure. One win didn't cure all of our woes but it's a small step. Just thinking out loud here certainly not printing up playoff tickets.

Re: Bucs beat down postgame

Can't argue with SunnySide, I was most definitely done with the team. Sunday afternoon I was working on a home construction project, wasn't even going to turn the game on. Then, like someone with Stockholm Syndrome I turned on the TV mid 2nd quarter and couldn't turn it off.

But on the other side, before the season started we knew that last stretch was going to be brutal. We lost some we had a chance in but mostly we showed we aren't in the elite conversation.

Next comes the answer to what this team really is. Games that are winnable followed by division games that show how we match up for next year, that hopefully mean something this year too.

I'm back on the bandwagon!!

We have to go 2-1 to get to 5-7, then finish 4-1 against the division. That gets us to 9 wins and a likely WC spot.

Even with high preseason expectations I figured we'd be 6-6 at best after 12 games so if we can get hot we'll be right back in the mix.

I know I am delusional and we have injuries but let me enjoy my false hope for a week at least!!

Re: Bucs beat down postgame

To be fair, the team that turned up on Sunday was a totally different group than we have seen so far this season. Hopefully it is a case of the coaches being able to fix things over the bye week rather than just a one off case of getting up for revenge for last years playoff loss. The next two weeks will tell, I am not going get too excited but they have shown they can play scheme sound ball in all three phases if they really want to. Makes the travesty of the previous 8 weeks all the more disappointing if that was what they are capable of
