So you're saying that Fred Davis could now beat out our ProBowl TE. I'm just saying -- WHY DID WE DRAFT HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE?? We already had a Pro-Bowl TE. And so FD starts -- what do you do with Cooley now? And which TE is going to block Demarcus Ware?

I know we're all really saying the same thing -- DUMB draft move.

Maybe you are right, however there isn't much we can do about this but to find a way to utilize them.. Which is exactly what Shanahan is going to do.. I'm thinking that maybe this will elevate the running game for us, we would have one of the duo blocking a CB and they will achieve most of blocking.. Beside I'm starting to like to watch Davis playing.. He moves fast and breaks tackles.. Also not to mention, I like his dances as well.. Even tough one of the dances cost us a penalty lol

There is no such thing as having too much talent at any position...at the right price. Starters only make up 22/53 of the team in a violent sport. Dallas seems content with their three-RB backfield.

McCardell? But Joe Gibbs released him and he made all pro with Jacksonville, didn't he?

I don't think Skinsfan69 was, at all, implying that coaching doesn't have an affect on one's development, but rather said influence can't morph a nobody into a spectacular, Pro-Bowl receiver. The desire to be great has to be present before they ever step onto the field.

In the case of Art Monk, he was constantly compared to Charlie Taylor on a number of levels. I think Taylor simply helped Monk put it altogether to become one of the all-time greats. Great coaching won't make you anything that you're not to begin with, but it will help you perfect your craft and sharpen your skills.

Re-reading my post, I sure did put a lot of words in Skinsfan69's mouth, didn't I?

[quote=GridIron26;697493]This year should be interesting.. According to this article, Davis and Cooley is competing for #1 spot.. This is bittersweet feeling, I have always thought Cooley as top 5 or even maybe 3 TEs in NFL.. And yet he's competing for #1 spot.. But I'm most definitely glad Shanahan said that if both are better than WRs, then they will put both in; which I'm pretty sure that would be the case..

Nothing wrong w/ this! I could see Cooley as traditional TE most plays w/ Fred lining up in the slot (DT and Tana at WR). Davis is extremely athletic and a handful for most CBs.
