The only problem I had with DT was his hands. Everything else seems to be above average. He definitely deserves to be in the NFL if he can shore up his hands.

Hands and route running

Maybe so, but it seemed like when he played with us, he could get open, but seemed prone to drop key 3rd down receptions.

Why can't I let go of the feeling that something can still be made of this kid? I'm, certainly not an optimist by nature, just thought I saw some potential is all.

He was a lousy route runner. rounded corners, telegraphed his moves, did nothing to set up corners. He may have been open on occasion but why bother looking for him if he's not where he is supposed to be 80% of the time.

He had lots of potential when he first came into the league. Then it turned out that his "potential" was all he was ever going to have.

The ones who make the catches in the games are those who rep the routes the same way in the games as they do in practice, and know when/where to expect the football on their body. Bad hands are a symptom of a larger problem. Just ask Carlos Rogers.

As much as I cannot stand Michael Vick he was surviving much on his natural talent. That has changed. I have to give him his due as he has re-made himself with the help of others (including our own DM) apparently much hard work and discipline he had not had previously. He has elevated himself to elite status to the most dangerous player in the NFL at the moment. He did through work and dedication.
DT has not learned this lesson.
It ain't all about talent.............
DT being cut again just affirms my belief that you shouldn't draft anybody from MSU anymore. Lorenzo White was the last Spartan that really performed. The Lions like to draft MSU QBs, but they only ever make it to the backup spot. Hopefully Cousins and his WRs coming out prove me wrong, but I hope the Skins aren't the team taking that chance.
Derrick Mason is from Michigan St.

Someone once described a specific baseball pitcher as a ".500 pitcher".

He supposedly had a ".750 arm and a .250 brain".

Adapt this to Devin Thomas as you will...

Hope he takes a shit on us while he's with the Giants so everyone including Shanahan realizes how stupid they were for letting this kid go / not caring about him being let go. If it wasn't for him last year we definitely would have lost to the Bronco's and wouldn't have even gotten close to taking the Saints to OT.

If Braylon Edwards can fix the dropsies I think DT can too.

In two years on the team you can point to two or three games where he made a positive impact. And from that you hope that he comes and is an important part of beating us? He wasn't Antonio Pierce or Ryan Grant where he had a good productive campaign and the front office didn't re-sign him. (Even then I never hope those guys come back and beat us). He was a player who was given every chance to win a starting WR spot and he couldnt. I think I will take MS, KS, and the word of our WR coach over the spotty performance history of DT.

Said the guy who thinks we're all wasting our time still talking about Sean Taylor and should get over him since he only played a couple years here
