Re: Campbell will now stay away from Redskins Park
McNabb to be traded... Oakland offers a high pick--i believe their first--, along with other teams including Washington willing to give up either their first or second plus other late picks to get him.
JC to be traded.. 2nd yr in a row this comes out and still no offers even close to what McNabb and Cutler were drawing. I know ppl love JC but its time to admit that he isnt a top 15 QB and there are reasons he hasnt been traded to a team desperately needing a QB. He is seeking his own trade which to me says the Skins will get a late pick -4th or later-if anything for him depending on how the draft goes for teams like Buffalo,Oakland etc. |

Middle of the pack. The problem is that I don't see JC rising much higher than this. |
Re: Campbell will now stay away from Redskins Park
Stan Humphries, Rich Gannon, Trent Green, Brad Johnson... All these guys where given up on too early. It all started when Rypien took us all the way. With Stan Humphries as the back-up, i was hoping the reigns would be handed over to him, but Rypien screwed up, got fat in canada, and came back as a shadow of his former self, while Stan turned an 0-4 team into the first to go from 0-4 to 11-5 and into the playoffs. Rich Gannon wasn't given a fair chance. I STILL have no clue why we let go of Trent Green. he was part of one of the best offenses of the last decade as a chief. Brad Johnson went straight from the redskins to the superbowl, and for who... Toney Banks? Coach Killer Jeff George!?! Poor Ramsey was cursed with a HORRIBLE coach and no-oline. The poor kid never had a chance. Then there was teh chump who I will not name that we traded for Santana. The guy was just like T.O., made tons of catches, but only on 1st and 2nd down. He was the opposite of Art Monk, whenever we needed the first, he dropped passes by Ramsey, Brunnel, and Hasselbeck. He's better now and i almost wouldn't mind him back on the team... but I trust him as much as T.O. ... which isn't much.
I not only wish Jason the best elsewhere, with our track record, i expect it. |

I liked Brad Johnson but Marty didn't want him....so he got to play on a team w/ an all world defense. Many QB's could've played on that team. And Ramsey couldn't beat out Chad Pennington and has bounced around the NFL cause he's not good enough to be a 16 game starter. We've finally got a top NFL QB so no need to re hash the past. |
Re: Campbell will now stay away from Redskins Park
BTW, Brad Johnson was ranked 19 in the top QB category as a Redskin his last season. he was ranked 16 in tampa bay the next year as well as the year before he won the superbowl. Two ex-redskin QBs battled it out in the Super Bowl... Ugh...
I'm sorry if i'm raining on some people's parade. My dad, from whom I inherited my Skinz fan gene, is really happy about McNabb coming here. He feels bad that JC will likely go, but he's confident that we'll get more than most think he's worth in return. I'm just finding it hard to be as optimistic. |
Re: Campbell will now stay away from Redskins Park
Let the past go, just let it go. It's a new era. Re-hashing the past is pointless.

I don't see what's so funny and i'm no re-hashing the past, we're just repeating it. To say that any QB could've played on that team is to say that it's better to have a great team and good quarterback than a great quarterback and a good team... i agree. I just think that we should've KEPT our good QB and used our 1st and 2nd on getting the o-line that ANY QUARTERBACK can play behind. he has less of a chance than Ramsey |

Past decisions and moves from previous eras have no effect on what's being done today.

Plenty of argument fo rhim to be the better man. But hey, Jason didn't exaclty throw games and curse out players. He didn't cause any huge scandals or name names. Between Bruce and Mike, SOMEBODY should've had the the testicular fortitude to have a honest, man to man talk with Jason Campbell and tell him about McNabb. At least call him up and say, "Yo! We got your boy Donovan!"
No class at all in this organization. After the way he was treated, I wouldn't wanna be seen there either.
The reason he is not allowed to train there is because if he gets hurt then the Skins have to pay him while he is hurt. |

Even with all that JC went through he had his own issues which was the problem. If I had a dollar for evertime he missed a guy wide open or through the ball to the outside leading the WR out of bounds or through it way inside on a guy I could buy season tickets. If I had a dollar for every WR he stared down I could up grade the tickets to box seats. If I had a dollar for evrytime he held onto the ball not throwing it when he should I could buy a car to get me to the games. I could go on but you get the point. JC seems to be a hell of a guy but not a hell of a QB. |
Re: Campbell will now stay away from Redskins Park
I dont care the reason why he isnt at the park. Why the hell would he be. That would be awkward as shit for him. But I sure am glad to see him go.

Yeah, everyone is treating Jason Campbell like a fucking newborn little CHIA pet. The guy is an underachieving, soft spoken little girl who cant get it done. Enough with the sentiment. Who cares about his feelings. All this "We should respect him more" and "JC, thanks for the memories" shit is making me sick. What memories? The memory that when he finally got hurt at the end of the year a couple years back, and got replaced, we made a run to the playoffs without him? Bye JC, dont let the door hit you on your "butt" on the way out.

Re: Campbell will now stay away from Redskins Park
Funny how it seemed that all the announcers and sport media always had so many nice things to say about JC but no one is knocking down our door to get him. I'm thinking that we are going to need to package him by adding our 3rd round pick if we even have one left. LOL
If I was JC I'd want to go to a team with warm weather because sitting around watching a game from the bench in cold weather sucks. |

Go to buffalo, hope the starting QB pulls a hammy in the cold, then you got your shot to checkdown and shine!!!!! He's such a classy guy. |

I actuall hope the best for the guy but I just don't see him as a starter for than maybe a year or two then he will be riding the pine.

I think that class act part might have helped him on some level. I mean he's obviously a talent but in a league with guys like Pacman Jones I'm pretty sure it's made people want to believe in JC a little more then they would otherwise. I guess what I'm trying to say is that if JC had complained a year or two earlier it would have been so much easier to get rid of him, however his demeanor makes people want to root for him and makes people want to be around him.
I think he's hung up on the fact nobody called JC to tell him we were trading for Donovan. JC got his feelings hurt again.
Do you mean before the trade was finished? Because if so thats a great way to create a leak. You tell Jason that you're seriously trying to trade for McNabb, Jason tells a friend, that friend ends up as an anonymous source somewhere. |

Cute. Pointless, but cute. How bout this one, "He who does not learn from the past is doomed to repeat it." People tell me not to re-hash the past but that's exactly what our new management is doing! The Shan-man turn McNabb into the next Elway and Allen wants to be like George and create his own 'Over The Hill Gang'. Seems that I'm not the onlyone looking back. We're looking forward too. I'm just looking forward in less rosey glasses. Look, I don't care if they somehow snagged Peyton Manning and reeled in Adam Vinetari, until our offensive line is repared, i'm not gonna be happy, ESPECIALY with an injury prone QB like McNabb. The biggest improvement he'll have is the running game, but he's getting a downgrade in o-line and receivers. You do the math: Older QB (injury Prone) + crappy line + crappy backup = ??? |

You think we have a better chance WITHOUT the second round pick? I hope we can get a 2nd rounder for JC somehow... as for "Every team signs veterans", I guess you see youth in our backfield huh? CP, LJ, and FWP i'm sure will make up the oldest HB trio this season. (lol, FWP! I wonder if the F part is still accurate) The corner we picked up from the Lions ain't no spring chicken either. He's my age, older than any of the other CBs. Kemoeatu is 31 too, not old for a NT, but 8 years in the front line is no walk in the park. Then there's McNabb and his injuries. Grossman, Ryan, Hicks... I don't think we've signed anyone under 30 but Willie Parker!?!! The part that kills me is that if/WHEN McNabb gets hurt, next up to bat is a guy who's best season is worse than Jason campbell's WORST season, who has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns, and isn't as mobile. A pocket QB with no pocket... Hmm... |
