Re: NFL Free Agency Around the League
I dont see cap as the driving factor as much as the FO has very specific goals and targets, and they know what they want to spend at each position. I could be wrong but I prefer this approach to the pay them all and roll the dice.
Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
I agree with that. I'm glad they aren't spending their money like my kids do when they get their allowance... |

It really surprises me how much Bill B went in this year, and his rep is gonna take another hit if they don't at least make the playoffs. You know he's gotta be salty after Brady won another one without him. |
Re: NFL Free Agency Around the League
T. Williams just signed a BIG contract with 49ers - 6 years for $138m.. I doubt he will get it all but big congratulations to him.

138m is ridiculous...I’m passing on that number on a player on backside of career. That’s much worse than giving a guard 18 million for a year imo |

Good for TW, he's the best LT we've prob ever had and that says ALOT. Dude has always been an animal

You think after the run they just had for two decades they are desperate? Not sure about that. I think if they can get halfway decent quarterback play they are going to be damn good. |

They went 7-9 last year I think. Had a few big wins but a few bad losses. Overall their record wasn't bad considering the quality of players they had last year. I am thinking a WC run and in a 1 and done situation Bill always has a few surprises. |

Their WR moves were bad... I can’t believe they gave Nelson Agholor 2 year 26mil and Michael Bourne 3 year 23 mil They were 100% bidding against themselves with these two...I thought you could get Agholor for the same price as Marvin Jones (which was a fair price contract at 7 mil a year). I’m just not sold on Bourne...he’s a little slow. |

Didn't know they had a chart for winning the offseason.

This is based on Amount spent / value of the players so it's pretty cool |
Re: NFL Free Agency Around the League
Yes, the Bears threw everything they could at trying to acquire Russell Wilson. The Seahawks didn’t budge.
According to @dpshow , an offer was three first-round picks, a third and two starters. |

So when are they going to be fined that amount in cap space like we were? |

The Brees contract reset was definitely fishy, but the rest was "legitimate" and it goes to show why cap should never be the number 1 restriction. |

David Bakhtiari APY: $23,000,000

Ours were legit too. The NFL approved the contract changes and then when the Giants bitched about it they took cap space away. Illegally I might add. As in violated federal labor law illegal. |

That prevented us from going after Peyton Manning. Instead we drafted 2 QBs...Griffin and Cousins. :benched: This article leaves out the salary cap penalty. https://www.nbcsports.com/washington/redskins/peyton-manning-redskins-it-almost-happened-2012 |

All the Owners would have turned on us forever if we exposed systemic collusion. There was an agreement--informal--among owners not to destroy the salary cap in spirit with the kinds of contracts we structured. Yet another example of THE DAN being THE DAN. He is so used to getting away with fraud and shitting on people he just expects to every time. Think how much less the owners make without a salary cap? It is their golden goose, THE DAN threatened it with end-run contracts. |

Except that with Wilson, Bears picks all late ones. Franchise QB most precious commodity in pro sports. When you have one you don't trade one, period. Wilson can whine all he wants, he's under contract, and he'll do what he's told. Fields or Lance could easily bust. Wilson is a proven franchise QB. Texans signed Taylor at QB. Watson can sit on the bench and watch Taylor start all year if he holds out. |

I think wed be the odds on favorite. This FO seems to value multi position inter-changeable players like Curl, Fuller and Collins. Can play back or up near the line in nickel and dime. based on the package, Curl could be S or 3rd DB, same with Fuller and Collins. Tre Boston could free us up .. did he have a decent year last year though? Can he play up to the level of Collins/Fuller/Curl? Anthony Harris would be a huge jolt but we arent hearing anything on that front and seems cost prohibitive. Tre seems more our approach. |
Re: NFL Free Agency Around the League
On one hand, I hope the Giants hella overpay for Golladay. On the other, I hope they don't because it will only drive up the price for Curtis Samuel.
