Re: Steelers Actively Shopping Big Ben for a Top 10 Pick
What's the name of the restaurant? I visit Mt. Pleasant somewhat often, my sister owns a condo in Montclair across from the Mt. Pleasant town center. Love me some Charleston & that area!
I certainly wouldn't go to a restaurant because a Pitt. player owns it, don't know if I'd boycott it because Ben is part owner either, but would like to know the name & location please. Back on topic, I am surprised that people are this upset about Big Ben. Not saying he doesn't deserve some public scrutiny, I just don't think its enough to warrant trading him, unless there was more of a discipline issue w/the team that's not reported. I think Pitt. is just trying to scare him, as a PItt. reporter said last night.
Rumors of a trade to the Raiders should scare anyone straight. |
On the douche bag note. Ben owns part of a restaurant here in Mount Pleasant, SC. A friend on mine's ex works there. Ben was randomly texting every girl who worked at this establishment. When one of the girls finally responded to him, the dude texted her about 55 times in 24 hours.
not normal behavior for anyone. I am so surprised to see an NFL QB have no game when it comes to women. What a tool.
[YT]LAPEjcQvqSk[/YT] |
Re: Steelers Actively Shopping Big Ben for a Top 10 Pick
i don't think its just a ruse. if someone offered pittsburg a top 10 pick for rothlisberger, I think they would take it. I think what we're seeing here is a case where no one - not even the Steelers - want him around. he's just not worth the risk.

Right now Ben is like Vick without the jail time, so no one can say, "At least he paid his debt..."

With rape and sexual assault there is no "debt" to pay off. In fact most rapist, including child molesters, get out way to early. Maybe, and I emphasize maybe, you can recover from sexual harassment, but if you are proven to be a rapist you should be phased out of society. Weather it be staying in jail or simply having no one wanting to talk to you. |

Agreed. That's a crime that can never fully heal for the victim. If is not a physical crime, it's a lifelong emotional/psychological scar. It's not about sex, it's about power and control over the victim. Sex addict education or rehab won't do any good. Rapists and child molesters should be automatically castrated and/or put away forever. I wouldn't even care if they were put to death. They've crossed a moral line in the same way a murderer does. Once you commit that crime, you can not be rehabilitated. It's easy to be a repeat offender and statistics back that up. It's a line that you've crossed that separates those who can live in society amongst other people and those who can't. |
Re: Steelers Actively Shopping Big Ben for a Top 10 Pick
And just to be clear I don't think Lotus was suggesting that you could pay a debt to society. Rather he was anticipating the excuses you would hear from someone down the road thats would be interested in signing Ben after getting convicted.
@Buster -Glad to see someone that feels the same way I do about the crime in general. |

Ha ha, to true. I remember watching their Americans Game presentation for the year they beat us in the Super Bowl and they relished in the fact that they basically did whatever they could to cheat. Or as they explained it "gaining an edge." Stuff like deflated balls for opponents during home games, getting away with holding calls on purpose, hitting people in scrums after the play, stuff like that. |
Re: Steelers Actively Shopping Big Ben for a Top 10 Pick
Per Adam Schefter:
Let's rule out some more potential landing spots for Ben Roethlisberger: No Raiders, no Jaguars. about 6 hours ago via web If Schefter is right then that seals it. Ben won't be traded. |

Weren't they also the team that watered the field strategically to create mud pits on sunny California game days where it hadn't rained for weeks, and their players knew where they were? I saw that last week on NFLN...think it was the Raiders. It was on Top 10 Home Field Advantages. |

Can't say it has because it is not widely known that he is an owner. I only came across the info after the case in GA. Before that I ate thier a few times, and Ben being an owner is not advertised in the establishment. |

Like I said earlier it happened to my mom about 2 months ago, and to say the least there is not much in the way of healing so far. I have no sympathy for anyone who gets away with this kind of crime. |
