Remains to be seen if he can get back to pre-injury form but before that he was absolutely putting up stud numbers on an otherwise lackluster team.[/quote]

It's certainly not a crazy discussion to have whether he's elite or not.

Back to how this all started, I agree we could see the D take a step back at least statistically. Our schedule is loaded with top level QBs, including Dak.

Their receiving corp, especially when Witten was on it was very good, and Elliots first years he was a beast too.
That said, Dak doesnt make many mistakes, so he was a great qb to manage that offense and he did a top quality job. I would have taken him here if the Cowboys had been dumb enough to let him walk.

Right now I put the NFC East Qbs
Dak
RF
Dimes
Whoever starts for Philly

And the gap between Dak and RF isnt nearly as big as the gap between RF and Dimes.

My NFCE qb rankings:

1. Dak
2. Hurts - just for playmaking ability right now with his legs, he still needs work at throwing
3. Fitzmagic - he's consistently inconsistent. If he could be consistently above average he'd be #2 on this list.
4. Jones - he's obv. still a work in progress, but shouldn't be overlooked considering he's 4-0 against us.

Can put Hurts above anyone in the division right now, he just hasn't proven anything especially from the pocket.

It's Dak, Fitz, Jones, and Hurts a distant 4th.

If that criteria gets Hurts #2 from you, then Heinicke should be ranked above him.

Concur - that is the right order for now.

Dak is hands down best QB in NFC East, based on track record, but that is pre-injury Dak. Sucks all our games against Cowboys late in season, which will in theory give him time to be fully recovered and work the rust off.

I'm not sure I call Dak elite, like say Rodgers or Mahomes, I would put him in tier just below, but he is a very good QB. He often plays big when it counts, but won't matter with team Jones as GM, that clown show will never win a SB.

LOL!!!

He's 1-3, 52% completion percentage, 6 TDs, 4 INTs, 9 Fumbles, QBR = 41.

He might be #6 in the NFC E...

Or lower.....he may improve, but I don’t see how it can be said he showed much of anything last year.

I based it off the eyeball test, in the couple games of his I watched last season I thought he did good enough to keep the job for this year. I did say he needs work as a passer, obviously it's not there yet. But he can keep plays alive and make plays with his feet. That counts for something.

Fitzpatrick is just too inconsistent for me. No doubt he will make plays for us, show us things we haven't seen since Kirk, but he has never been able to be consistent with it. He's gonna wow us with a throw one minute, and the next throw a terrible pick. It's who he is.

Jones is Jones, I'd like to shit-talk him some more but dude's 4-0 against us. Record doesn't lie.

I agree, FWIW. Dak is clearly #1 my mind. I expect Jones to close the gap on Fitz this season. Hurts has a lot of work to do as a capable NFL passer and I don't yet have a feel fo his ceiling.

I think our backup(s) give us a slight edge in the division as far as surviving an injury to our #1 QB.

If the QB 1s went down in the NFCE, I think we’d see less of a drop off than the other teams - not that I’d want to see that.

Has that ever happened in any division ever? Can't find anything to confirm it or not.
