I think it's funny that If I look back I'm "re-hashing the past" but everyone else is free to pretend McNabb will be Elway. News flash, We don't have Terrell Davis, our star runningback is a guy I like but the REST of you guys treat like an 80 year old has been. Then there's the fact that Elway wasn't taken from another team and his offense was only tweaked with better players and ... you know what. if you wanna dream, dream away.

We have the #4 pick are will likely go with Okung, a potential franchise LT. If not a possible trade down and we'll still get a starting caliber LT. There's a lot of time between now and training camp and I expect moves to upgrade the OL.

Just to add to this people always seem to forget two things

-Trent Green happened to be a free agent while we were under an ownership transition (just our luck that he spends 4 years carrying a clipboard as a 3rd stringer, then has his monster year just as we're changing owners)

-Rich Gannon I don't think was even in the league the year after he played with us. And he had 3 TDs and 7 INTs with us! Other QBs with 3 and 7 seasons for us? Danny Wuerffel and Heath Shuler

The past suggests that high compensation trades usually don't turn water into wine, but since McNabb is ironically the savior that JC wasn't, I don't feel like this should be too much of an issue. After putting some thought into it, I wasn't sure that McNabb could survive obvious attrition issues, but I'm now pretty confident that if anything goes wrong injury-wise, he can just heal himself.

At this point, I would take the success that Montana had with KC. We are coming off 4-12 and dead friggin' last in the division again.

I will say it again, we haven't even had the draft yet and there are months left in free agency. The o-line will be addressed. Is there any evidence from this offseason that they will not address the line? Just be patient.

I think we are fine at the runningback position. We have 3 talented guys with something to prove. That is a good situation.

Unless it is Al Davis, because no one knows what that guy is going to do, I imagine if it's two picks it would be a 4th and a 6th next year conditional to a 5th. It certainly won't be 2 even low picks this year because any team would want to put playing time and stat conditions on that 2nd pick.

Same here. I'm ready to see what we get for him - really interested in seeing how another team values him. I also don't feel the team can truly move forward as long as he's here. That said, I think we'd get more in terms of compensation if we waited until the draft. I'd say Bradford and Clausen are the only QBs who a team would even consider starting in 2010. Campbell would be a great option for any team needing a starter in 2010 while a younger guy (McCoy, Tebow, Skelton, Snead, etc) is groomed.

You are right, I didn't realize it will be 3 days of the process.. Well, I guess to be specific, I would hope for something similar to the McNabb deal.. But of course, the second pick would have to be like 5th or 6th round.. Campbell's value isn't same as McNabb's..

Campbell just signed his one year tender today. Hard to imagine that no team would be willing to part with a 1st and a 3rd for him! I imagine that caught him completely by surprise. Kind of like the sinking feeling of REALITY that he has been talking to clubs for a week and nobody has even offered a 2nd round pick for him.....or a 3rd.
On top of that he is rumored to be headed to a BACKUP spot in Carolina. What is that about? Isn't that what he has HERE in D.C? I thought he was asking for permission to locate a STARTING job?

We only tendered him at a 1st round level; on top of that we can entertain a trade offer for him. They only have to give up what he's tender at if they send an offer directly to him and we don't match it.

Mark Rypien is Canadian, but he never went to the CFL (which is what I think you're saying), or threaten to retire and then come back and then retire again (which is what I think is what you're saying)

That will all change as soon as Rex has to step on the field in a real game.

McNabb has to come out, Rex steps in. 2 plays later, Coach Shanahan asks Jason to get loose because Rex can't convert a 3rd and 57.
