If Shanahan turns McNabb into the next Elway (two SBs) and Allen creates an "Over the Hill Gang" that reaches the SB, I would say they learned from the past pretty well. Injury prone McNabb. Really? McNabb missed 4 games in the last 3 years. Campbell missed 3 games in the last 3 years is he injury prone too? How about this equation: Experienced QB (playoffs & SB) + Let's wait until training camp opens and see who's here before we throw out "crappy line" + QB who knows the new system / fans who need to get a clue = Relax it's not even draft time yet and we made a major improvement to the most important position on the field for a 2nd rounder and a conditional 3/4th.
You use nice big words, too bad they don't make sense. When did I exaggerate? How did I lack substance? You described your OWN post better than mine. I think it's funny that If I look back I'm "re-hashing the past" but everyone else is free to pretend McNabb will be Elway. News flash, We don't have Terrell Davis, our star runningback is a guy I like but the REST of you guys treat like an 80 year old has been. Every time i make a positive post about CP people act like I'm him under an alias. Then there's the fact that Elway wasn't taken from another team and his offense was only tweaked with better players and ... you know what. if you wanna dream, dream away. As for "Relax it's not even draft time yet and we made a major improvement to the most important position" i beg to differ. What we've needed most is our O-Line issues to be handled and THAT has not come to pass. You compare us to the 2 time winning Broncos? This is more like Kansas City when they picked up aging Joe Montana and aging Marcus Allen and expected that to be enough. Yeah, I'm gonna be 'glass half empty' guy until we have a solid O-Line. Thusly, you'd be better served by holding tongue and waiting until McNabb/Shanahan prove all of their doubters wrong. There will be plenty of time to gloat later when this move results in a deep playoff run and or super bowl championship. Until then, you're all hot air (as is the person you are responding to, just to keep it in perspective). The past suggests that high compensation trades usually don't turn water into wine, but since McNabb is ironically the savior that JC wasn't, I don't feel like this should be too much of an issue. After putting some thought into it, I wasn't sure that McNabb could survive obvious attrition issues, but I'm now pretty confident that if anything goes wrong injury-wise, he can just heal himself. |
Re: Campbell will now stay away from Redskins Park
JC would be a up grade for the Raiders QB situation. I just hope we get a least a 3rd pick for JC cause we have no F***ing draft picks this year.

I will say it again, we haven't even had the draft yet and there are months left in free agency. The o-line will be addressed. Is there any evidence from this offseason that they will not address the line? Just be patient. I think we are fine at the runningback position. We have 3 talented guys with something to prove. That is a good situation. |

I suppose you mean a 2nd day (2nd/3rd round) and a 3rd day. Unless it is Al Davis, because no one knows what that guy is going to do, I imagine if it's two picks it would be a 4th and a 6th next year conditional to a 5th. It certainly won't be 2 even low picks this year because any team would want to put playing time and stat conditions on that 2nd pick. |
Re: Campbell will now stay away from Redskins Park
I agree. Hope something happens this weekend.
Same here. I'm ready to see what we get for him - really interested in seeing how another team values him. I also don't feel the team can truly move forward as long as he's here. That said, I think we'd get more in terms of compensation if we waited until the draft. I'd say Bradford and Clausen are the only QBs who a team would even consider starting in 2010. Campbell would be a great option for any team needing a starter in 2010 while a younger guy (McCoy, Tebow, Skelton, Snead, etc) is groomed. |

You are right, I didn't realize it will be 3 days of the process.. Well, I guess to be specific, I would hope for something similar to the McNabb deal.. But of course, the second pick would have to be like 5th or 6th round.. Campbell's value isn't same as McNabb's.. |

Re: Campbell will now stay away from Redskins Park
Campbell just signed his one year tender today. Hard to imagine that no team would be willing to part with a 1st and a 3rd for him! I imagine that caught him completely by surprise. Kind of like the sinking feeling of REALITY that he has been talking to clubs for a week and nobody has even offered a 2nd round pick for him.....or a 3rd.
On top of that he is rumored to be headed to a BACKUP spot in Carolina. What is that about? Isn't that what he has HERE in D.C? I thought he was asking for permission to locate a STARTING job? Reality is a deeeeeeep and vast pit several miles down down down. Its either time for Campbell to come into the real world after 5 years of "well, you know...we just have to work harder and its a team effort....and we're gonna look at da film". Ya know what Jason. Ya need some fire in your butt. And you need to get some 5 hour energy going. On top of that you need to stop having your feelings hurt because somebody doesn't hand you a job or because someone is actually unhappy that you can't hit the deep ball and can't bring a team from behind on even one 80 yard drive. Come on into the real world and get with it here, or get ready for more of the same and a backup spot in Carolina. It's put up or shutup week for Campbell. Lets see if anybody will pay the price now that he is reasonably available. |

Re: Campbell will now stay away from Redskins Park
I honestly dont know if staying out of camp is good or bad for him at this point.
I mean i know why he wouldnt want to be there, and i dont blame him, but if he ends up staying here, that could really factor against him because you know how Shanahan likes active participation. It wouldn't surprise me if Jason is #3 because Shanahan didn't like that Jason wasn't very involved. |
