Re: NFC East Champs
Not true a few have said it. Actually my argument if they had just made a single play in three different games they would be 9-7 . No one is saying that the Giants didn't need to take care of their own business , what people are saying that now with gambling it cheapens the Washington's team win and gives a black eye to the NFL . Win Sat and it's forgotten.
Ok, we can all play that game. If WFT makes a single play in three different games they would be 10-6 - including both games against the Giants. It will be forgotten on Sunday no matter what. |
Re: NFC East Champs
He was their only threat last night, and it was obvious. You are right, it was not a good look. Had they started Sudfeld, that would be one thing...but they benched the only guy that gave the team a chance to win. Not that they would have, but he was their chance.
However, as has been discussed on this board already, and while it wasn't exactly the same scenario, the Steelers left their starting QB and their best defensive player back in Pittsburgh. If they had beaten the Browns, the Dolphins would have been in the playoffs instead of the Browns. I watched every single NFL show since last night and no one is talking about that. Unfortunately, in week 17, teams who are playing each other often have different priorities, and that is what it boiled down to. I see no way in hell the NFL takes a draft pick. The league doesn't get to tell the coaches and owners who plays and when.
Not even close , teams already clinching a playoff berth have always rested players . To say you #1 priority is winning and not go for the tying field goal or sit your best QB for a third rounder makes you guys and the Eagle players look bad. I think Peterson is toast after tomorrow. |

No there isn't. That is just whiny Giants fans crying as usual. Week 17 has those type of decisions every year. Every year. No exceptions. Thing is, most fans know and accept it, like the Dolphins fans this year. And they actually had a good team. Giants fans? They have no clue. And, frankly, removing an ineffective QB midway through the 4th quarter happens all the time, not just week 17. Giants fans whining that Hurts was having a good day doesn't make it true. He was having a miserable day. QBR of 45. Generated nothing in the 2nd half. JDR made adjustments to account for his occasional successful scramble and stopped him cold after halftime. Bigger surprise to me, TBH, was that they played Hurts at all, especially in bad weather. |

Conor Orr is just a whiny new york sports writer. There is no discussion in the league circles to punish the eagles, because there is no validity to any punishment. The eagles played their game with the plan the coach had stated ahead of the game.

Re: NFC East Champs
Whether we get the hell beat out of us next week or not The WFT won the NFC east !!! As far as tanking I can remember The redskins needing teams to win and they sat there starters and we missed playoffs ... this is nothing new at all !! And who knows for sure the eagles would have won ... Nobody knows ! I find the horrible refs more troubling than the eagles tanking .

We were winning the whole game except for one drive. This notion that some have that Hurts had the Eagles up by three TDs when he was pulled is actually quite funny. |
Re: NFC East Champs
Ignoring the whining about the Eagles and their decisions, I certainly was hoping for a better performance by our offense, and I am happy to get the NFC East Title, but man it would have been nice to go out there and have our offense look like they did the first drive for the whole frickin game. Then none of this other blabber would even have a place in the dialog.

So that's a "no" you don't realize it. Well, you are. The WFT won the NFC East. That isn't saying much, but they earned it. This crap you are currently spewing on our site isn't befitting. I've not seen you be respectful before, which is why I asked if you even realized it. To pretend that the WFT defense didn't respond and stop Hurts in the second half is just a false narrative that discredits their efforts. |
Re: NFC East Champs
I could give a shit less about the Giants, and I am thrilled to hell that the WFT won the division. I wish Hurts had played the whole game though. Whatever, if Pederson made that decision before the game started, then so be it. It's his team. They had nothing to prove to anyone, nothing to play for, and don't owe anyone outside of that team anything. I will say though, that it didn't appear from Jalen's reaction on the sideline and post game press conference, that the "plan" was communicated to him. Maybe it was...

Re: NFC East Champs
Truth is All of this makes the Eagles and Giants look bad ... the eagles for whatever they did .. and the giants for putting themselves in a position to have to rely on the eagles .. also don’t forget Alex was limping around on basically one good leg and Gibson was not 100% .. plus we were up 10-0 and with a few questionable calls we trailed .

18 plays and 48 yards of offense on Hurts' three second half possessions. That's probable cause... |

Re: NFC East Champs
We won 5 out of our last 7. Scored more than the Giants and gave up less than them. They beat us twice yes but they were not the better team if we had Smith playing both games. Hell we went for 2 instead of going to Ot with them in Ny. There is no doubt if Alex was healthy all year they would have won at-least 8 games. Haskins was god awful in that 1-5 stretch

Well technically he was the number two last night and over Hurts last 20 drives he has been near the worst in the league. So he could make the case he was trying to win. They will never lose a pick over that. Nor should they. These same Giants fans were upset when they beat the Redskins in a useless game and couldn’t draft Chase Young, and now they are upset because the Eagles didn’t win a useless game. Lol. All that being said it was a real head scratcher. However ..... who cares? They should have won 7. We should have taken you to OT instead of going for two. Im trying to put myself in your shoes and I would always come back to “ you want something done right? Do it yourself.” I would hate Pederson but I would totally blame my own team. |
