All the Owners would have turned on us forever if we exposed systemic collusion. There was an agreement--informal--among owners not to destroy the salary cap in spirit with the kinds of contracts we structured. Yet another example of THE DAN being THE DAN. He is so used to getting away with fraud and shitting on people he just expects to every time. Think how much less the owners make without a salary cap? It is their golden goose, THE DAN threatened it with end-run contracts.
They were not end run contracts they were legal because there was no salary cap that year and the NFL approved the contracts. Just because they hate Dan doesn’t mean they’re allowed to break the law. |

@TomPeliserro
#49ers LT Trent Williams' six-year, $138.06 million deal is actually two deals: three years, $60.75 million to start, and a three-year, $77.31M option the club can exercise by April 1, 2023. If exercised, Williams' 2023 pay becomes mostly guaranteed. He gets $32.4M in Year 1. |
I think wed be the odds on favorite.
This FO seems to value multi position inter-changeable players like Curl, Fuller and Collins. Can play back or up near the line in nickel and dime. based on the package, Curl could be S or 3rd DB, same with Fuller and Collins. Tre Boston could free us up .. did he have a decent year last year though? Can he play up to the level of Collins/Fuller/Curl? Anthony Harris would be a huge jolt but we arent hearing anything on that front and seems cost prohibitive. Tre seems more our approach.
Collins better be a 6/1 cut! Collins struggled significantly in coverage. His best days were already behind him then he ruptured his Achilles last season. He will be even slower. As an post 6/1 cut we will pocket $7.7M and use that to sign Scherff to a LTD. I agree, sign Boston if we can get him for cheap. Win win |

I dont think his play is as bad as most fans but we all agree on the money part. Extending Scherff and Allen would reduce their current cap hits as well if we wanted some extra cap space now ... hard to argue against the achillies part .. thats a tough injury |
Re: NFL Free Agency Around the League
Rams, bears, Eagles, Saints .. are they all still over the cap?
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cap/ Honestly never worried about a team not making cap until now so I dont know what the protocol is here. ------------------- https://www.profootballrumors.com/2021/03/bengals-to-re-sign-rb-samaje-perine Samaje Perine will continue to collect an NFL paycheck. Good for him, the NFL pension is at like 3-4 years service so he should get there. |

If any of this is true on Watson then everything he said in his Book "Pass it on" about being a servant leader is 100% False.

Good thing Texans signed T Taylor. I'm guessing this will cool down the D Watson trade market a bit. |

from what i understand he asked to get a happy ending . . . she said no and asked him to leave and he left . . . never tried to force anything . . . so at most this is eliciting prostitution . . . i think he can afford the lawsuit payout . . . i say buy now, his trade value should be less than prior |

:laughing- Acceptable call out. I dunno; its always is a red flag when criminal chargers aren’t pursued; but in this day and age narrative first, facts later or never; it may cause some to pause. Either way it seems way out of character for Watson |
Re: NFL Free Agency Around the League
Maybe I'm being overly cynical, but the timing of this when he's pushing for the trade couldn't be better for the Texans if they are dead set on keeping him...

I have to admit my brain went there too. The timing definitely made me raise an eyebrow. I don't like to jump to conclusions on these things though, just need to let facts come out. Some have been real (Guice) others have been fabricated bullshit (Reuben Foster, at least some of the allegations). We'll find out if it has any legs. |

I don't know what to believe. Seems out of character for Watson, but he wouldn't be the first to act different behind closed doors. Can't dismiss the accusers either. Just gonna wait until we know more to form an opinion. |

The lawyer...buzbee or something seems like an attention seeking whore. It’s shitty timing too...like what in the actual fuck. I’m not choosing side, but Watson should come out with a strong statement here, seems like the defendants are slow rolling out accusations building negative public sentiment over multiple days. It’s messy |

Raiders signed Kenyon Drake.
Dolphins signed Will Fuller. Kenny Golladay visiting Bears and Giants. Joe Flacco visiting the 49ers. |

Lol and he chose WFT.. Also I just saw a report that WFT told Fitzpatrick that he will have to compete for the starter position.. So he must have seen something in this team that he liked. |

It’s messy
Definitely. People were talking about him on Reddit because his IG statement was cringeworthy. He's got a rep for being a douche in Houston but they all said he's a good lawyer too. So we'll see. |

I have to think he is odds on favorite to start that being said if he isn’t I am pretty excited because that means Heinicke is balling. |

Anyone else amused that the Eagles have made virtually 0 signings. :)

Plenty of big losses though. Jeffery, Mills, Ertz, Malik Jackson (DL) their punter and of course Wentz. They're signed Hassan Ridgeway, a 4rg-string DL and Andrew Adams, a safety who only special teams. |
