Re: Washington Football Team Defense 2021
I don't know what his PFF grade has been by game, for the year it appears to be 51.9. However, he's been in on less than 50% of the defensive snaps. I wish they would just throw him to the wolves honestly. I really don't see how he could do more harm than good at this point.
Exactly. We cannot. |

You know how Defenses sometimes get nicknames (Steel Curtain, Orange Crush, Monsters of the Midway). I think a great one for our defense would be Warm Butter.

Re: Washington Football Team Defense 2021
Headless chickens is more apt I think. Warm butter can be great in the right circumtances

Without looking it up ..
We have to be the 32nd ranked D after yesterday, right? Didnt see this coming at all. Im shocked. I still think we were correct and reasonable to assume a top 10 D coming into this year. |

I still find it hard to believe how the group fell off the track, especially with Del-Rio's history with defenses. I would give Del-Rio another chance next year, as long as he will make some changes. |
Re: Washington Football Team Defense 2021
How do you give up 500 yards in an NFL game? You just have to be real bad to do that. And we are just that. Bad all around.

To be fair, I would probably give up playing if my offense can only put up 13 points after intercepting Mahommes twice, recovering a fumble, and keeping the Chiefs offense to 10 points in the first half. |

Our average currently is 423 yards against. On the average Sunday the opposing team will put up almost 425 yards against us. Just sayin |
Re: Washington Football Team Defense 2021
J Allen and M Sweat leading the way on the D-line
J Allen: 5 sacks / 17 QB hits M Sweat: 4 sacks / 10 QB hits The next best stat line is 1.5 sacks / 4 QB hits (CY) |
Re: Washington Football Team Defense 2021
Jon Allen is having a pro bowl worthy season.

The warning signs were there going back to last season when Tampa rolled for 500+ in the playoffs. People dismissed it as well that's Tampa. No sorry, that's a sign of a subpar defense. |
Re: Washington Football Team Defense 2021
The DE rotation now consists of James Smith-Williams, Shaka Toney, Casey Toohill, Daniel Wise, and Bunmi Rotimi. Two undrafted in 2018/2019, and three 7th rounders from 2020/2021.
