Our only hope is to win the East..
Saints
Falcons
Packers
Bears
Seahawks
are all in IMO.

Bears will get the 6th seed at 9-7
TB will finish 8-8.

I dont see Chicago finishing any worse than 9-7, their D is too good and they will beat Detroit and Minnesota.

Seattle will get in by default which is a damn joke, 8 wins may win that division Hell maybe even 7.

We basically have to win out or go 5-1 the rest of the way to win the East.

Our losses to STL and DET will come back to haunt us

One game at a time like Smooty said, and don't get your hopes up. 8 teams currently have a better record than us:(TB, GB, ATL, Chi, NO,Philly, NY, and the NFC West champ)

TB: Young, exciting team that is playing with a "let's show them" type attitude. Can fall down the stretch if Freeman and Blount get hurt, but their defense is solid also. This is a definite must win if we are a playoff team

GB: Too powerful all around to fall from grace, unless they get decimated in the next month.

ATL: ANother loaded team that is relatively young. Killer schedule might hamper them, but if they prevail against the Pack I am all in with them getting the first round bye.

Chi: Great D, decent O line and running game, but stuck with a bipolar passing attack, that can hinder the running game. Too bad we couldn't play them.

Gmen: THis team is hurting in my opinion and we all know Eli is pretty erratic like Cutler. I can see us splitting the series with the Gmen and maybe sweeping them if we get Eli on two "off" days.

Philly: Might get beat up a bit in Chicago, but other than that they will be a 11-12 victory team. And seeing what they did to us on MNF, we simply can't touch that!!

NO: The defending champs aren't playing explosive ball as of late on offense, but they are winning regardless, and are still solid on both sides of the pigskin. NO or ATL will get a frist round bye.

NFC West Champ: It is a shame that the division winners are locked into the playoffs, because the Skins could win a rematch against the Rams and could beat down the Seahawks most Sundays.

I know trAdition is tradition but I think better records means better teams and that's how the playoffs should go down.

So in your scenario, we also need to finish 9-7 and will win the head to head tiebreak vs. the Bears. I know it's still way too early to be considering all of the formulas but I don't think 2 losses will doom us.

Besides their lonely game where they allowed just 3 pt's against Jacksonville....their BEST defensive performance on points allowed this season is 17 points in a 3-way tie. 2 of those 3 games of the 17 points....they won the game.Only against the Redskins, where they only allowed 17..did they lose. Maybe not this week,maybe not next...maybe not till the championship game...but eventually,a bad defense will cost ya! Look at Vick and how Awesome that offense is.....Now Flip it over....that's how bad their defense is. If any team on their schedule even plays decent on Defense or learns to slow Vick down...Eagles are in trouble! The Redskins have statistically,the #32 last ranked defense in the NFL. As bad as ours may look....I would rather have ours,when you look at points allowed on a consistent basis.[/B]

Finishing .500 would be a significant accomplishment considering the shortage of talent on the offensive side of the ball. That we have an active thread complaining that Keiland Williams wasn't featured more today is Exhibit A.

I don't know how anyone would think we would make or deserve the playoffs after losing against the Lions AND the Rams (red flags right there), getting bent over by the Eagles, losing heartbreakers to the Texans and the Colts.. There's too much wrong with this team to have ever thought of the playoffs.

On a better note, we will end the season better than we did last year... Right? Right?

We weren't a playoff team at the beginning of the season guys. It's just a fact. We don't have the talent right now. Are things better? Yes but still a yr away

As long as I can see a Redskins super bowl win in my lifetime, it'll be another check off of my "I can die happy" list, they can be a shitty team forever if they'll just let me have ONE.

Okay granted, there has been 2 wins in my lifetime, but I was 2 and 6.. I just need 1 more!

Many of us thought before the season that we might go 7-9 or 8-8. We're still on track for that.
