And should'nt be at Pro games!Look these asswipes are at every stadium Giants, Jets, Pats, Eagles....Dallas etc.Look I'm a grown man and I like beer or 2 once in a while but these guys and like it or not most of them are young ...just don't know how to behave or how to hold their alcohol.
Iwill be at the Giants-Redskin game this week first time at the new place and I'm not really looking forward to it becuase ....well we knew everyone in the old place and their kids ...hell we got Xmas cards form most of them but these seats are all new and in different areas. Son inLaw is a Marine and scheduled to deploy in March and he is a big Redskin fan so I'm taking him to a game in NY ....which he has never been to before so it should be fun.
Thats the sad part. A good amount of the people in question are over 30, some even have kids of their own. |
Re: Idiots at the Skins vs. Vikings Game
I'm pretty tired of these idiots giving Skins fans a bad name. I don't understand why you need to get drunk when you go to a football game. You can get drunk at your house, a bar, etc. and it will be cheaper, and you can still watch the game. Football games should be a family atmosphere, but alcohol has ruined it. NFL officials can come out and say, look, we limit guys to 3 or 4 beers (w/e the limit is) and then we cut them off, but we all know it doesn't happen, or they find ways around the rules (like hey, more sober friend of mine, go buy me some more beers) , but I do believe the NFL should ban alcohol sales at games. Now we know that will never happen because beer is a cash cow for the NFL, but that's the way it should be.
I'm envious that college games are a more pleasant environment than an NFL game, and they have everything the NFL has with rivalries, same playing field/slightly different rules, and they never have a problem with this because no beer is sold at all. Even after idiots like that NY guy drive home drunk from the game and kill innocent people, they still don't do enough to stop it. What's to stop a wasted ass DTC member from hopping in his massive suv and hitting a Skins fan walking across a crosswalk? Nothing. Not when you have stadium personnel that could give less than a shit about a drunk guy, or cops that stand around but don't bother looking for potential DUI offenders waiting to happen, because it's like finding a needle in the haystack. |
If you want a fun filled family sporting outing in this country anymore take your family to a minor league baseball game. I go to about 10 a year everyone in the family has a great time. Never see a fight, rarely hear a swear, always something fun going on between innings and the price plus everything that goes a long with it for 10 games cost half of going to one NFL game.
Amen to this! If you really want to go to an NFL game and see it in some degree of comfort without the intrusion of drunken bozos, save up your money and buy yourself a seat or two in the club section(s) where there are plenty of amenities, cover from the elements and access to hi-def TVs for inspection of replays. If you want to see an NFL game live "on a budget", you will have to put up with whomever happens to sit within 15 yards of you and with however much booze he/she consumed in the four-hour tailgating party prior to kickoff. I did that too many times. Now I prefer fewer games in the "box seats"... |
I wonder if these guys were a few of the thousands of idiots that were cheering and applauding when A. Peterson was injured. Bunch stupid m'fers...
I cheered when Peterson was hurt. He obviously wasn't hurt that bad and it gave us a chance to win. If you think this team can beat teams straight up, I don't know what to tell you. We need injuries and mistakes to win games. |

Thanks I will. As for the game ....when the NFC East plays....records go out the window. |
Re: Idiots at the Skins vs. Vikings Game
GREAT article on ESPN.com today by Rick Reilly about just this thing...
It really does suck that if I want to take my 2 kids... I better pay through the nose to get club seats or dream seats to make sure they dont have to see this ridiculous, idiotic stuff... Here's the link: More jerseys equals more mayhem at NFL games - ESPN |

The stories I'm hearing at NFL games are getting boarderline insane. Please tell me Verizon Center isn't like this for Caps games. |

I also think folks are coming in drunk, it would take a lot work to get drunk in the stadium considering the time and money it takes to get a beer. The real drunk folks are getting that way in the lots. Either police folks coming in that are too drunk or limit the time the lots open. The NFL is making no money off the alcohol being drunk in the parking lot. What really baffles me is there is some mind set in the NFL that this is acceptable. I go to Sprint Car racing in PA during the summer you can bring in your own beer and you still don't see this the drunkenness that you see at a NFL game and the guys at the races are as blue collar as you can get. Also the author should have referenced Halo:Reach not Halo 3 if he want this to be a current article, just say'n. |
Re: Idiots at the Skins vs. Vikings Game
ANYTIME you put 90,000 people together in a packed venue and throw alcohol into the mix, you are going to have fights. When people are drunk, they are prone to do stupid things (i know i have) and say stupid shit that we normally wouldn't say. I think the Redskins organization bears some blame as well with the opening of the tailgating lots far far in advance. Opening the lots at 12pm for a night game is just asking for trouble. I know what you are going to say, "it's not the Redskins organization that's making them drink that much", and I agree. That said, when people can't police themselves correctly, you do it for them.
People should show more respect in public places but it seems that's not the case. I think some issues spark when upper level people try to snag lower level seats and the people come back (or show up) and the fun begins. |

We've seen it alone in the responses in this thread. The Rick Riely article is just icing on the cake. Hopefully the next step is much stricter alcohol policies and tailgating regulations that prevent idiots like DTC from chugging bottles of Crown Royal before kickoff. |
Re: Idiots at the Skins vs. Vikings Game
95% of people at the game wear jerseys.
A fight affecting 10 people out of 90,000 = .1 % of fans affected in attendance Alcohol helps win games. I see a lot of people at the games who are too shy to make any noise to help out the defense, but if they only had a couple beers... |

So at college games it is quiet as a library because no alcohol is served. |
Re: Idiots at the Skins vs. Vikings Game
I take my 8-yr old to several hockey games a year (she's a huge Hurricanes fan) and we never have had a problem. I've never taken her to an NFL game because I think every one I've ever been to has had at least one fight in the stands.
The article suggests limiting tailgating to 2 hours before kickoff which I think is a great idea but people who want to get black out drunk will, regardless of measures taken. These idiots will chug straight liquor ten minutes before kickoff if it is the only option they have. |
