The 33rd Team
@The33rdTeamFB · 16h For reference, Fields ( @justnfields ) under pressure on 79 drop backs was 22-46 for 278 yards, 4 TDs and 3 INTs with 20 sacks Best completion % under pressure with 50+ drop backs: Mac Jones ( @MacJones_10 ) |
Not saying I wouldn't take Watson with that deal, but I'd balance this with the fact our brain trust took Chase instead of Tua last year, and that worked out pretty damn well. Imagine 3 more potential monster picks like Chase on the team by 2024? I'd be sure I'm as confident as possible we can't find a guy in this draft before I pulled the trigger on that deal.
Are there going to even be 3 players of Chase' ability available in the next 3 drafts? let alone available where the skins will be drafting n the next 3 drafts? Most likely not even close. |

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
I still say keep our draft picks and players, and continue to build out this young team. Watson isn't going anywhere, and even if he is, it would be too costly. Let a team like SF mortgage their future for him if they want to. WFT can find a QB that will elevate this team for much less cost/risk, on the FA market and/or in the draft.

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
I think our first round pick will go toward a TRADE for our mystical franchise QB.
Either to move up in the draft OR to make an Uber-trade for a FA. In fact, I think we’ll have a pretty shallow draft because they will trade picks away to get the QB they want. To get STAFFORD, is going to take A LOT of draft pick juice. He’s going to take: this year’s 1, 3 & 5 and next years: 2. He’s worth it!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
This year’s 1, 3 & 5 and next years: 2.

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
^ I don't think the price for Stafford would be as crazy as that

:puke:
It won't take that much, he's 31 or 32 now. I'd offer our 2nd if they say no I'd offer 2022 1st |
Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
I’d give this years first and next years 2nd for Stafford initially. I’d would sweeten it with a couple later rounds picks if needed.

Devonta Smith only played the first half last night? His stat line was this: 12 receptions for 215 yards and three touchdowns. |

I watched the first half and declared this game was over...had no idea that guy didn’t play the second half and wasn’t stat watching That’s sick...this dude is amazing. What an embarrassment for OSU |
Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
Apparently the Ohio State coaching staff has never seen a player go in motion before.
That being said, Smith is a fucking stud. I'd gladly take him at 19. He would be BPA for sure. |
Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
But how long would Smith last in the NFL ??? He certainly is a great athlete, but his body is rather small. How many hard hits could he take without serious injury?

He's like Marvin Harrison |
Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
The Heinicke/Allen starts in 2021 draft. If we signed or traded for a vet I would replace Purdy with BPA.
19: R1 P19 - TE Kyle Pitts - Florida 51: R2 P19 - OT Christian Darrisaw - Virginia Tech 74: R3 P10 - QB Brock Purdy - Iowa State 82: R3 P18 - WR Terrace Marshall Jr. - LSU 121: R4 P19 - S Caden Sterns - Texas 160: R5 P19 - CB Shakur Brown - Michigan State 239: R7 P17 - LB Nate Landman - Colorado 241: R7 P19 - LB Jamar Watson - Kentucky |
If we took Jones at 19 I'd be cool with that
All you people that want to take Mac Jones need to wise the eff up. He’s basically a white version of Dwayne Haskins. Fat, lazy, and rides on the coattails of his big time program with elite talent all around him comparable to most opponents. He’s a frat boy that’s going to come in cocky, not hungry, like Haskins did from OSU. I don’t want him and would rather mortgage a bit more to trade up for someone like Wilson or Lance that (I think will be hungrier and have a better work ethic). |

I've already gone on record (a few days ago) that I want no part of Mac Jones. I'd be pissed if we drafted him. |

Do you personally know him? Whether it is college or the pro’s you surround him with a solid OL and receivers and he can be a solid QB, he proved it in the championship game vs a talented D. |

Please. Tell me more. The last picture I saw of him on social media was with his shirt off rocking a beer gut with a cigar in his hand at what appeared to be a frat keggar. QB’s who take football seriously and put in work don’t have time for that shit. That picture told me all I need to know about that guy. Being a QB for the University of Alabama is a status symbol and priority for him. If putting football first was most important in his life, that picture wouldn’t exist. |

No I obviously don’t. But read my post above. Haskins was the exact same way. Came from a big time college program. Thought highly of himself. Took selfies during games, had stripper parties, focused more on his social scene than his football skills. He had an above average o line this year, ranked 6th overall by PFF at the end of the year. Had good skill position players in Gibson, McLaurin and Thomas. But what did he do? Nothing. Terrible decision making, accuracy and ability to read coverage. Because. He. Didn’t. Put. In. The. Work. He expected things to come easy to him like they did at OSU. I see a similar trajectory for Mac Jones with some of the stuff I’ve seen floating around the interwebs about him. |
Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
Also Big Ben was not the most cut up guy either and I think that worked out pretty good for Pittsburgh.. I wouldn't stress that much over that stuff. The dude can play

ESPN article: “ "He's a clown," punctuates Kalif Jackson, who has known Jones since they were 15-year-old rivals in 7-on-7.” “When asked to self-evaluate, to put himself in context with 2020's other quarterback phenoms -- Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields and Trask -- Jones offers a frank assessment: "Those guys can probably all throw better than me, and some of them can run faster than me. I’ve been reading up on him some more and apparently he cataloged all of the Alabama playbooks he ever had last off season, regularly works with his girlfriend to diagram plays at night she calls out to him at the facility and had his high school coach fly in to help him work on developing his deep throws this past off season, which is well documented he did well with this year. I’ll be the first to own up for being too harsh in my surface level assessment of him. I just can’t get away from feeling like we would be wasting a first round pick on a QB that doesn’t appear to have elite QB traits. Maybe I’m wrong, but I’ve always felt that’s what you should be getting if you are going to invest a 1st round pick on a QB. |
