Levi Brown is 14.1 million (base salary) of that. Stewart Bradley more than $5 million. They've yet to restructure any veterans.

Getting under the cap with enough to sign Manning should be easy enough, but it should be a consideration of the Manning camp that the Cards likely can't use the FA market to get additional help.
Lol wow. Thank goodness for the rookie cap.
Thats odd. Few guys in the NFL are as nice as Hasselbeck and few guys would be willing to take a rookie under their wing like Locker has with Hasselbeck. All the talk and hypotheticals of veterans teaching rookies at QB, Hasselbeck is one of the few good QB's thats actually willing to do that.
Yeah who knows why. I don't know Matt Hasselbeck but from all I've heard he's a great and humble guy. He's what you'd think his brother would be considering Tim's talent level.

Honestly, I'd take Tebow as a backup to Griffin. I think our offense could fit him well, possibly better than any other offense in the league because of the strong run game and constant play actions and rollouts on passing plays. I'd never want him to be our #1 option but as a backup and even a gimmick player with him and RG3 on the field...heck, Brandon Banks too, imagine that explosive trickery...double reverses with RG3, Tebow and Banks...who can all throw the ball! Ha...

I'd take Tebow over Grossman or Beck as our backup in a heartbeat. Emphasis on backup.

Yeah but we're not going to trade for a backup, which I am sure is what will happen to Tebow if Manning goes to Denver. Besides, he'll probably go to Jacksonville.

Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)

Jacksonville makes the most sense for Tebow, but I'm not sure about Jacksonville. Yeah, Gabbert turned out to be a disaster (great call Allen/Shanahan), but do they want to replace a mediocre 1st-round pick with another?

They need to sell tickets to stay in town though, so if that's their objective more than winning games, they can go there. Tebow would certainly have the running game with MJD and if they keep their current NFL-worst WR corps...hey, they wouldn't have to upgrade that position with Tebow's 10 attempts a game coming in. They can focus on defense, which they'll need to do with Tebow running the offense.

I guess I could see Tebow on the Jags, but it wouldn't be any huge step forward for that team...they'll still be bad. Denver is a much better base than Jacksonville, so Tebow probably wouldn't "just win" with the Jags.

I was thinking that as big as the price was to get RG3, we could trade with Cleveland right now and get their three number 1's and a number two. Maybe even more, because they will be more than desperate if Miami does not get Manning. Then Flynn becomes a long shot. I am not suggesting we do it, I am just pointing out that right now, we probably could get more thatn we gave for it. So its really not that bad of a deal.

Wonder where that story came from?My bet is still Miami.

I am predicting Arizona, with Denver coming in second.

Miami will get left out, will get Matt Flynn.

Deciding factors:

*Arizona's climate for an aging player vs. Denver's winters
*Dome vs. Mile High Stadium in the winter
*Better chance to succeed with Cards than other teams
*Larry Fitzgerald vs. nobody in Denver and Marshall in Miami..Fitzgerald wins
*Good, young D in Arizona

I'm gonna throw a wild prediction out there and guess that Peyton, after deciding all his potential suitors suck, will retire and go into the broadcast booth.

Despite my name on here, I am currently in Colorado (and the locals LOVE the skins because of MS) and the Denver fanbase is pretty chill so I would love to see Manning come here. Tebow is a joke!

Also, I found this article on the NFL website: NFL.com news: Breaking down every team's potential interest in Peyton Manning

I have a feeling it was pre St. Louis trade, but it is still intriguing. The last part talks about trading with the Texans so they can get Peyton. I like Shaub, and he would be way more of an asset than Grossman for working with RG3 on our offense. Plus, Shaub could jump right in and give RG3 a redshirt season if needed. The only problem is, if Shaub sucks our coach is unemployed because our fans want to win NOW. Its probably a stretch too because what could we give to get Shaub since we have given up so much to get the 2nd pick? Its probably nothing, but its for sure something to think about.
