Re: Idiots at the Skins vs. Vikings Game
I also want to say at this point I rather bring my family to a bar to watch the NFL then the stadium.
When I went to Sly Fox this year it was a great time and there was no drama at all. Just folks drinking watching the game and having fun. |
Re: Idiots at the Skins vs. Vikings Game
I always laugh like the Dallas game was an 8-hour tail gate party at FedEx....8 HOURS of unlimited drunken debauchery and D hatin'. Bad time to be a Dallas fan.....lucky to get out alive
THis is why Beer isn't sold at college football games
I'm at college right now, and trust me when I say EVERYONE shows up wasted. Plus college kids are poor and can't afford too many $9 beers. Alcohol being sold would not change much. |
Re: Idiots at the Skins vs. Vikings Game
Like beer not being sold at games is going to prevent college kids from showing up drunk, or sneak stuff in... lol

Contrary to popular belief, my personal opinion is they aren't trying to prevent anything. They know not selling alcohol affects almost zero percent of the students BAC. In my mind, the main reason is not to prevent disorderly conduct, but to give the appearance of preventing disorderly conduct to appease the public and to create an atmosphere and culture that coincides with the moral standards preached by the university. I am complaining or saying that it is bs that they don't sell alcohol, cause in fact I don't care at all. I'm just saying that I believe the main motives for the rules are alterior to the ones stated. |

It's like the Blue Laws here in the South. Don't sell alcohol on Sunday morning and we all go to church. Otherwise, if I could buy bourbon on Sunday at 9am I'd be home wasted instead. Crack is illegal but there are still crackheads. :Smoker: |
Re: Idiots at the Skins vs. Vikings Game
Beer and alcohol is the major factor to this kind of behavior during NFL games. Rick Reilly is dead right. I would never take my kids to a NFL game just like I wouldn't take them to a bar. If beer is the major sponsor of an enterprise--then it's meant to be an adults only activity. And the difference for college games is that the tix are free for students so of course you'll have plastered kids coming into games. Ban some of these drunk NFL fans who have shelled out hundreds on tickets and then I think you'll see a change.
BTW--how many of you DON'T own a jersey? I'm curious because I have never had the inclination to buy a jersey. My brother-in-law has like 12 Steeler jerseys. He actually drinks too much too... |

Crack is illegal but there are still crackheads. :Smoker:
I HATE the Blue Laws. Typically I buy my beer for the game the night before and start drinking after breakfast. When I run out, it's lame because I have to find someone to drive me AND wait until noon to do so. |
