Re: Dustin Hopkins Sucks Post Game Thread
If he was throwing to Cam Sims, I think that's a poor decision, he's covered tight. It was actually Wright that had the most room to make a catch and that throw did hit him on the hands...I'm actually seeing that play as a high, bad throw from Haskins intended for Wright.
Haskins doesn't deserve to be defended, he constantly makes inaccurate throws. |

DH has now shown he can move but his accuracy is still a big issue. Beyond going back to school I don't see how he fixes that; he certainly won't get any more chances with WFT. |

Really interesting reading you guys on this !
I agree the D was disappointing, and especially the Dline early in this game, and I thought Haskins had overall a surprisingly good game. Still think the INTs were quite bad, and even with all that was said, let's not act like Sims catching that ball if not tipped is a sure thing. Tight coverage. Situationally, 6 points game, 2 and 8, early in the game, I remember saying out loud "I'm ok with a FG, just no TO now is the key" when they got the first down 2 plays before that... Cooley's breakdown of this first INT 40:20 on this link:
-Should've thrown in to McKissick -Wright ran a bad route but then reacted well and was open -Good decision to throw it to Wright, but terrible throw -His mechanics on throws running to the right are always ugly |
Re: Dustin Hopkins Sucks Post Game Thread
I, honestly, wasnt too thrilled with haskins last game. I noticed he was still throwing off his back foot constantly when he had space to set. its like rg3's happy foot issue. just something built into him that may not be able to be coached out. I think the numbers were better, and it looked better...but i still saw the same things that he has shown before. he just ended up on the right side of it this time. But it seems like the sort of odds of flipping a coin.

His mechanics are not pretty for sure. But overall accuracy was still way better IMO. |

I agree. You can’t come out and play like trash the first half as well as throw 2 absolutely terrible ints. Did we really see any growth? Not here, seemed like the same guy |

Just listen to Cooley's breakdown of his game. (From 31:00) |

I just remember saying to my brother while watching "wow...flushed out on the run, and he's still throwing off his back foot and not planting." Almost like he's trying to emulate a madden game, or looking for the hilight reel play. He may have looked more accurate, but I'm still concerned that it's too fine of a line between looking more accurate and throwing 4 picks while missing receivers all game. |
